About: I’m a full-time work-from-home professional. Unless I’m traveling for work, I’m home with the pups all day, giving them plenty of attention, love, and care. Please message me for availability—my schedule can often be adjusted to fit your needs. A Few Things to Know: - I focus on dogs 45 lbs and under to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable. - Dogs will be staying in my home, not a separate kennel area. - I offer free pick up and drop off services so you have one less thing to worry about! Pick up and Drop off must be during daylight hours. Otherwise you will need to pick up or drop off your pup. - If you’d prefer your dog to be the only guest during their stay, just let me know—I’ll do my best to accommodate. - I’ve been petsitting longer than I’ve had my dogs so they’ve been raised with different dogs coming and going and love dogs of all sizes! - I do have chickens and ducks so if your dogs have any prey tendencies, please let me know so I can keep them separated. What Your Dog Can Expect: - Free access to a fully fenced yard for playtime. - Couch privileges and plenty of indoor snuggles. - A daily rhythm of breakfast, play, naps, dinner, and evening exercise. - Lots of dog beds to choose from so everyone always has a comfy space - Walks and leisurely outings if your pup enjoys them. Why Choose Me? I’ve had dogs all my life, and honestly—I prefer pets to people! My own pack is spoiled, and I’ll treat your dog like the king or queen they are. With me, your pup will get more than just care—they’ll get genuine love, attention, and a home-away-from-home. Send me a message today—I’d love to meet your furry best friend! I work from home full time so I can accommodate all schedules and needs! Usually the day starts with breakfast and a little playtime, followed by afternoon napping and then dinner. More playtime after dinner- to make sure everyone gets their exercise needs met. I love all my dogs and yours too! Dogs are given free access to fully fenced outdoor yard and free access to inside, including being on furniture.
“Corey is so easy to work with - quick responses and was available on short notice and we are so grateful for that! Our dogs were in great care and got walks and loving. Will definitely be rebooking!”

“Jessica was wonderful. She made everything easy for us. Met us when we drove up. Made Cocoa feel comfortable. She took her for a walk with her own dogs. She sent photos during the day. We will definitely be using her again.”

“We had a great experience with LaurieBeth, and our pup Max loved her. From start to finish, everything went smoothly and we felt confident leaving him in her care. She was attentive, communicative, and clearly took the time to make sure Max was comfortable and well cared for. Most importantly, Max seemed really happy and relaxed when we picked him up, which says a lot. It’s obvious he enjoyed his time there. We didn’t have any issues at all and would absolutely trust her to watch him again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Jane was amazing. She did more than expected and beyond. I got daily photos and updates. Her daycare space is so beautiful. My dog Maxx had such a great time there. She took extra care of him. I would highly recommend her. Thank you Jane.”

“Taylor is a wonderful dog sitter who has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She is incredibly personable and treats my dog, Wynter, like family. Wynter has become best friends with Taylor's dog, Stuffy, and her bagel, forming a delightful trio. Taylor's loving and attentive care has made every experience stress-free for both me and my dog. It's evident that she has a genuine love for animals, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a compassionate and reliable pet sitter.”

About: For years, I've walked the fields and trails along the Potomac River with a furry companion - most recently with Flannery, my family's Great Pyrenees who loved romping in Virginia Bluebell flowers and sinking her paws into mud. Animals have always been a part of my life. I've mucked stalls, herded ewes and lambs, evaded headbutting rams, cuddled pigs, milked goats, trimmed hooves, and named a farm dynasty of cats and kittens names like "Nefertiti" and "Isosceles" (after Egyptian royalty and geometry terms). Animals and their personalities are a source of endless interest for me. “If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.” ~James Herriot I have a flexible work schedule at home and welcome an excuse to enjoy fresh air and exercise together with your pet. I'm available for daycare and dog-walking every day except for Sunday mornings. Your dog can stay indoor in my apartment or outdoor in the fenced-in yard, as needed. I live in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for walking. If additional space is needed for running and walking in the open countryside, I am also happy to take your dog on a "field trip" to my family's little farm.
“Haejin & Herscel were wondering caretakers! They were open to taking my dog for daycare a few days before and treated her so well. I liked that they only take a few dogs a day to reduce exposure and ensure they are all being watched. I loved the occasional photo and video updates, which her other daycare doesn't do it all. She came home very tired from playing all day, which was exactly what we wanted. I look forward to using them again!”

“Wyatt is great! Our dog is very very picky about people but she instantly loved Wyatt! He gave us lots of updates and some pictures, and it seemed like our pup really enjoyed her doggy day care time. We will definitely book again!”

“Once again an amazing day of daycare with Nina! Coco has so much fun with Kobe and Maggie, he loves it! Nina is an excellent communicator and her photo and video updates of Coco going about his day are super adorable. We feel very comfortable and at peace leaving Coco in Nina's care. Thank you!”

“Deb was absolutely wonderful! She was super responsive and agreed to a last minute request for doggy daycare, which was a lifesaver. She shared pictures throughout the day of my dog Fae having a blast with Deb’s labs, who were incredibly sweet and playful. Fae didn’t even want to get in the car to leave. We got to bring a very happy, very tired dog back home 😊. I really hope that Deb can watch Fae again in the future!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was a young child. We had dogs of all kinds that were loved and cared for like our own children. I have tended to puppies up to senior dogs that require medication and special care. I currently am not working and have plenty of time to take care of pets and have a very flexible schedule. I will be available at anytime if want to reach out by text to check on your sweet pets. I have a fenced in yard, space to crate a dog and also can put gates if needed to keep dog in certain areas. I am also able to administer any medication if needed.
“Smitha was very friendly from the start and jingles had no issue feeling safe the minute we dropped him. We were given frequent updates via photos and comments during the stay. Jingles seemed really happy and enjoyed the playtime in their yard. We will be connect with Smitha in the near future for Jingles boarding.”

“Erin took great care of my dog Rosie! Erin has watched my dog at her home and done a check in at my house. Both visits went perfectly. Rosie gets super excited when she sees Erin and I love the photos she sends. I would highly recommend Erin!”

“Sarah is really special. Benny was so calm when I picked him up, and seemed so content. I know he had an excellent day with Sarah, Moana and their family. Thank you, Sarah!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rectortown commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
