“Natalia was incredible! She took amazing overnight care of our rescue pup with separation anxiety. Throughout the booking process and the period our dog was in Natalia’s care, she was warm, responsive, and accommodating. I can’t recommend Natalia enough!!”

“Paige has house sat for our animals twice now, and she has been fantastic! The communication and care she gives them has always been a huge relief when we go away on trips.”

“My husband & I were really nervous to have someone house sit, but not only was Ryan awesome with our Yorkie & Fox Terrier but we returned to a clean house. He followed all of our well & gave daily reports on our fur-babies. Thanks so much Ryan!!”

“Cara was the most amazing dog sitter!!! I was out of town for almost a week and didn’t have to worry for a second about my dogs - she took them on long walks downtown, took them to swim in her pool, and they absolutely loved her! I swear they were hoping she would walk in the door when I got home instead of me. Highly recommend Cara for all your pet sitting needs. Thanks Cara!!”

“Joanna was great! She gave the perfect amount updates on my greyhound, Minerva while we were away and she kept our house super neat and clean. Minerva was so relaxed when we got home so we know she had a great weekend too! Would highly recommend!”

About: My name is Sophia and I have loved animals since I was little. I have 3 fur babies myself! Brandy, Bourbon and Whisky (my little bar cart if you will). I also have a rabbit named Toast and all 4 of them are the light of my life. Every morning I wake up and they greet me with kisses and demands for pets. Of course I always give in. I have a bachelors in large animal sciences, have volunteered at forgotten cats for years, and have worked in emergency, oncology and dermatology departments. Currently I work at another veterinary clinic that helps dogs and cats get quick emergency care for more minor issues like ear infections. With all my past experience your fluffy ones will be in good hands! Since I work during week days and sometimes weekends, I would try to be back with your pet(s) as much as possible! (I work a total of 4 days a week and my schedule can be random since I’m in veterinary emergency). Weekdays I work 3pm -11pm and weekends I would work 10am-8pm. Any other time would be spent taking your pet on walks, brushing out their fur, giving them treats and all the attention they deserve! I can stay with/walk pets before work on weekdays. Weekends I would be unable to walk them unless you are okay with my hours and I am doing overnight or long term pet sitting. I would take your dogs for walks or let them out into the yard as much as possible. I will follow instructions left by you and make sure to give many updates and pictures! I believe pictures are the best way to feel comfortable with your pets care while also getting those cute pet moments while your away!
“The whole process booking with Katie was easy! We needed her help with our two kittens who need a bunch of attention throughout the week and when we arrived home everything was in order and under control. She did a great job watching over the kittens during our vacation and made our arrival peaceful by having them already taken care of. She is so sweet and caring. We received updates at least twice a day about the day which we LOVED ! We appreciate you for all your help! Thank you.”

“As always, Tim is absolutely amazing with our highly energetic lab! Finn has so much fun playing fetch, swimming, hiking and just hanging out with Tim. We get plenty of updates, supplemented with awesome photos. When we go away on vacation, we know our Finn & home are in good hands!”

“Tara was wonderful! She did a meet and great prior to sitting for our dog in-home and was super communicative and accommodating during our time away. Would love to use her again!”

“Valerie was wonderful with my cat! My friend recommended her to me when I needed an overnight sitter at the last minute, and luckily Valerie was available. She was kind to work with and took notes on Momo’s care which I appreciated. My first experience on Rover was a good one because of her! 10/10 recommend”

“Emilee is great! She did so well with our two pups. She was quick to respond to my inquiry, came out for a meet and greet, and was happy to meet us again before we left. She sent many pictures when we were away and we did not have to worry about our dogs at all while we were traveling. Our dogs aren’t always easy and we had no issues at all. I would definitely recommend and will be using Emilee again for sure ?”

“Pam took great care of Kobe, with continual updates and photos. It was clear she was very attentive and cared about his well-being. Our house was immaculate upon our return, and Kobe was happily tired out! We will definitely rebook with her!”

“Taylor was great. She was punctual, considerate, good with our pup, thoughtful (she sent pics of Bear while I was in the hospital),and very neat. She has our unconditional support recommendation.”

About: Hi! My name is Olivia, and I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I’ve had dogs since I was 14 years old and have spent years helping care for my own pets as well as family pets. In addition to dogs, I currently care for my own cats and have experience looking after a coworker’s two long-haired cats and a friend’s two cats while they were away. I offer drop-in visits, pet sitting, feeding, fresh water refills, playtime, walks, litter box cleaning, companionship, and plenty of love and attention. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, so I take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet loves to play, go for walks, cuddle, or simply have a calm companion nearby, I’m happy to accommodate their needs. I work full-time during the weekdays, but I am available after 5:00 PM for visits, walks, and pet care. On weekends, I have open availability and can dedicate more time to caring for your pets. As a pet owner myself, caring for animals is already a part of my daily routine, and I understand how important it is to have someone dependable looking after your furry family members. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully and do my best to maintain their normal routine. I will ensure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, receive plenty of attention and exercise, and that their environment stays clean and safe. I also provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is to treat every pet as if they were my own and provide reliable, loving care that both pets and owners can feel good about. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy making time for in my daily routine. I work full time during the weekdays, but I’m available after 5 PM for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and giving pets the attention and care they need. On weekends, I have open availability and can dedicate even more time to caring for pets and sticking to their normal routines. Since I’m already a pet owner myself, caring for animals is naturally part of my everyday life. I understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away, and I always strive to provide reliable care, communication, and plenty of affection. In my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping pets comfortable, safe, and sticking closely to their normal routine. I make sure they are fed on schedule, always have fresh water, and get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection based on their personality and energy level. When I’m in a client’s home, I’m very respectful of their space and follow all instructions exactly as given, including feeding routines, litter box or potty breaks, medication needs, and any specific care preferences. I also make sure to keep things clean and tidy, and I always double-check doors, gates, and anything needed to keep pets secure. I understand that every pet is different, so I take time to learn their behavior, comfort level, and routine so they feel safe and relaxed while their owner is away. I also provide updates and photos so owners feel reassured and connected while they’re gone.

“Beverly was awesome. This was the first time we were away from our 150lb mastiff puppy and we were worried about him. Bev made us very comfortable during the meet and greet and communicated with us up until the the sit started to ensure she had all the details and care instructions. On the day of the sit she showed up right on time and settled in before we had to leave, so the puppies would get used to her being in the house. During the next few days she took wonderful care of our furbabies. She played with them and cuddled with them when they were moping and was persistent about trying to get them to eat. Pretty soon they were following her around everywhere. She sent us a lot of pictures of them and the house was immaculately clean when we got back. We would love for her to care for our babies again in the future.”

“Alexis watched our dog Cooper for two weeks while we went to Greece. We arrived home yesterday to a sparkling clean house and a a very happy dog. Alexis went above and beyond she took care of our Tropical fish and even washed her towels and sheets. She also watered all my planters. Highly recommend Alexis for house and dog sitting. You will not be disappointed.”

About: Hi there, I’m Angelina! I’ve had pets my entire life and have always loved being around animals. I have experience caring for pets both at home and through my past work at a pet store, and I now work as an Animal Care Technician professionally. I’m used to working with many animals at once and take pride in my ability to recognize changes in behavior or injuries. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet, their quirks, and how they respond best to care. I can administer medications/topicals, handle puppies, kittens, seniors, or anxious pets, follow any specific care needs or funny rituals your pet may be used to, and am quick to react in case of an emergency. I’ve handled all sorts of pets (small animals, birds, dogs, and cats) as well, so if you have any other animals that you’d like watched as well, I’m your girl! I’m big on communication, so you will always get updates on how your pet is doing and cute photos to go along with them. I’m looking forward to getting to know you and your babies! I work full-time from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, so I’m available any time after 4! I’m always open to stopping by after work and overnight if needed. I’ll make sure your pet maintains their normal routine and feels as comfortable as possible, almost as though you never left! If staying overnight, your home will be well-taken care of as well. I don’t mind doing a meet-and-greet so I can get idea of what to expect from both you and your pet.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rahns
Anthony took amazing care of our two huskies while we were away! He truly went above and beyond to make sure they were well fed, walked, cared for, and completely spoiled the entire time. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We came home to two happy, well-cared-for pups! We highly recommend Anthony to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and attentive pet sitter. He treated our dogs like they were his own, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have him care for them again. You will not be disappointed!

Valerie was immediately welcomed by our dog and 3 cats! She is open and friendly and a natural with pets. She kept us very well-informed with detailed updates and photos and videos. She is a responsible, caring person and we would not hesitate to have her back in the future. Highly recommend!

Braelin stayed with our two big pups over a long weekend and she was great with them! She sent pics and kept me updated as necessary. I could tell they were getting a lot of love and attention and thoroughly enjoying it! She took good care of our home also. Although she is new to Rover, Braelin has a lot of previous dog sitting and care experience. I would not hesitate to book her. She was very responsive since our first interaction and handles herself professionally. And most importantly, my pups loved her:)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rahns walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rahns maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rahns choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rahns. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
