“Lynnette was awesome! We needed a dog sitter while we took a seaplane ride to Isle Royale. She was so gracious to take Sophie just a day after she had surgery. We had a wonderful meet and greet and Sophie felt so at home that we felt good leaving here for the day with Lynnette. When the day came for us to drop her off, we were greeted by her aunt and uncle. Poor Lynnette had to go back to the hospital. We were a bit anxious to leave her with these folks, but it turned out to be just fine. Sophie loved them! She enjoyed all their love and attention. It was absolutely perfect. Thanks Lynnette for making sure our dog was taken care of when unforeseen circumstances happen. What a blessing you are! We wish you a speedy recovery. Oh, and when we were leaving, we grabbed the last loaf if sour dough bread Lynnette made and sells by her home. Wish there were some acones left but they went quickly. Next time.👏🏻❤️”

“I was a bit nervous about leaving our little pug, Gracie, with someone I didn't know but Ashley profile seemed like as good fit for Gracie while we visited Isle Royale Nat'l Park for several days. Ashley was always quick to get back to me on the Rover app with any questions I had & communicated a few times while we were gone with pics & reports of how Gracie was doing. I appreciated Ashley having her dogs kenneled when Gracie arrived so she wouldn't be intimidated. (She just has become more comfortable around other dogs) When we picked up Gracie today, Ashley had everything ready to go & Gracie was happy to see us but not overly anxious. Since Gracie is a true lap dog, I appreciated Ashley letting Gracie sleep with her & sit on her lap while watching TV. Ashley is a good choice if you are in the Houghton/Hancock area of MI.”

About: Want to travel with your mind at ease? I've been caring for dozens of furry friends for dozens years. I've had dogs and cats nearly my entire life, and I once had a hobby farm with a variety of animals. My little, sweet Pickles (Cocker Spanial) passed in January 2024 and I am currently pet-free. I love animals. But more than that, I love providing a safe sanctuary for animals. I believe every dog needs to be walked daily. They need an alpha to guide them and set boundaries and show some affection. They need good nutrition and feeding/treat routines. They need clear, consistent communication. And a trusting relationship. I'm a teacher by training and I am well versed in maintaining order with kids...and many of those classroom practices work for pets, too! I'm experienced with all ages and energy levels: I can provide puppy care as well as geriatric/respite care. I am very good at reading an animal's behavior and connecting with them. And I will connect with your furry friend and be their boss-pal while you travel with the ultimate peace of mind. Your dog will come back to you with all their good behaviors firmly intact...if not improved! I constantly reinforce and teach good manners and behaviors while dogs are in my care. I look forward to hanging with your furball :) Get in touch and let's talk about how I can create the best care plan for your pup. I have a flexible work schedule and will be home or available to check in frequently on your friend. I am an active person and will walk/run your dog every day, usually in the morning. Little dogs get walked up to 1 mile, big dogs up to 6 (depending on their health/ability/history). I have a back yard that is partially forested that pups can enjoy when I'm with them. My yard is not fenced so dogs are leashed for bathroom breaks. If your pup is accustomed to being crated, I can continue that routine based on your preference. I only require crating when a dog is not house-trained and I need to leave the house.

About: When I was young I was known as "Audrey, friend to all animals." It could not ring more true to this day. I aspire to walk in the footprints and paw prints of Saint Frances. I work from home and make my own schedule for the most part. I am flexible, easy going, and want to find what works for you. Your pet will be spoiled with all the love and exercise they need. I do not have any pets, which is why I am looking to help others take care of their animals. I work from home the majority of days out of the week. I also live in the U.P so I know our weather is unpredictable. I can accommodate you should your plans change due to weather or other circumstances. I’ve been talking care of pets on Rover for many years with lots of happy repeating clients. Prior to that I was watching pets in homes of neighbors, friends & family for many years. I will be very respectful of your home and any requests you might have.
