About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a child. My friends and family rely on me for dog sitting when away, and my lab loves all other dogs! I currently work from home and don’t travel much on weekends. So I have time to walk, play, and take care of other pups. I take my lab out every 4 hours for a nice long walk, and we love going to dog parks and hiking if that’s something your pup likes to do as well! I’m in an apartment so walks are my go to for my lab. We go out every 4 hours or so, with a long walk in the morning before breakfast, a long walk at lunch, and a long walk in the evening. In between that, I have lots of toys for dogs to play with and will provide lots of love and pets!

About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. Parts of the kennel are already fully functional, and we’re excited to begin welcoming dogs while we continue improving the property. It’s a place many people in the community already know, and we feel lucky to be able to carry on its history. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with them and honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love being around them. That same love has followed me into adulthood. Over the years I’ve naturally become the neighborhood go-to pet sitter. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I always care for them the same way I care for my own dogs — with patience, attention, and lots of affection. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. Right now I’m taking some time away from my occupational therapy work to focus on renovating and restarting the kennel. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about doing, and I’m excited to bring new life to a place that so many people in the community already know. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, including giving medications like insulin injections. Our property has large outdoor fenced runs that give dogs plenty of space to move around and enjoy the fresh air in a quiet farm setting. injections. I’m currently focused on renovating and restoring the kennel property, which allows me to be home most of the day and provide consistent supervision and care for the dogs staying with us. We are early risers in our home and typically start the day around 7 AM with potty breaks and breakfast. Mornings are usually spent outside enjoying the property — going on walks around our 20-acre farm or spending time in the fenced runs while I do morning chores. Around lunchtime everyone, animals included, usually settles in for a quiet rest period. I check that everyone has fresh water and food if needed before nap time. In the mid-afternoon we head back outside for more activity. Depending on the dog, this may include running in the fenced fields, exploring the property on a guided walk, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by a calm evening inside. We finish the day with a final potty break and check-in before bedtime around 9 PM. My goal is to give dogs a peaceful farm stay with plenty of space to move, fresh air, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed while they’re away from home I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. When I first started using Rover for my own dogs, I remember feeling nervous too. I always appreciated sitters who kept me updated, so I make a point to do the same. I’m happy to send photos and updates so you can see how your dog is doing and feel confident they’re happy and well cared for. On our property, dogs have access to spacious individual indoor/outdoor kennel runs where they can relax comfortably. We also have several large fenced areas where dogs can safely run, play, and explore. Safety is always my top priority, and dogs are supervised during outdoor time to make sure everyone stays happy and secure

During the summer, I am home most days of the week. I am a full time teacher so I am off during the summer. Therefore I am very reliable and flexible with times. About: I've been taking care of my own animals my whole life. Neighbors, friends, and family started hiring me for pet care when I was still in high school. I love the stark difference in pet personalities and learning how each of them likes to be cared for. Examples of my past & present clientele: - A family with 7 chihuahuas of varying ages and levels of crazy - A brand new hyperactive Bernedoodle puppy whom I still care for regularly (she's 4 now!) - A sweet lab who liked long, slow walks and bananas - A moody cat who could not care less about me (I have slowly earned the blessing of giving head pats to them now) - A tortoise who inspires me to slow down and eat more greens *my home is a safe space for people and pets from all walks of life* I am available for early morning or evening walks and drop-ins during the week. I am available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday unless I have a family or social event. However, I am always open to working around my schedule and offering as much flexibility as I can - just shoot me a message! We have a large back porch and yard with a fenced area for sniffing around. If your pet requires extra exercise, we have a quiet neighborhood to walk around in. We have a dog bed in almost every room, space for you to bring a crate, or an area that can be closed off overnight if necessary or requested. There are few places in the house that the dogs don't have access to out of an abundance of safety. Otherwise, they are welcome to make themselves at home! If I care for an animal in your home, I will let you and your pet take the lead!
