“Shylina is great. She knows what our concerns are in leaving him and makes sure to mention how she takes cares of those things. We can’t imagine anyone else caring for him while we are away. We highly recommend her for your pet care needs.”

About: Hi, I’m Sri! I’m a lifelong lover of all animals based in Red Wing, MN. I grew up around dogs, both big and small, and have had cats for over a decade. I currently have two DSH cats that are sweet, spoiled princesses. I am new to professional pet sitting but I have cared for family and friends’ pets throughout the years. I treat all animals with the compassion, patience, and care that I would give my own. I have a varying schedule throughout the year, with more flexibility in the winter months. I am proactive with keeping track of my commitments and communicating any schedule conflicts with ample notice. I am committed to keeping your pets safe and happy while you are away. Whether you’re looking for house sitting services or drop in visits, you can be assured that your pets will be given the best care.
“Thank you Elizabeth for taking great care of our Jocko (about 17 years old). You were able to carry out his routines in/outside the house very well. So when we returned, I think he was a happy camper during our 20 day away vacation. This was the first time he would be left alone (without the usual many family members to overlap with care), so this local care giving plan with Rover.com worked out very well. I was reassured with photos and texts of visits as requested and Elizabeth provided the personal care for Jocko a senior cat and he is a happy cat.”

“Maria was a wonderful pet sitter. She took care of my cat over Christmas . She was anttentive and affectionate with my cat. I will definitely use her services again and highly recommend her.”

About: Hi there! My name is Savannah, and I recently moved to the area! I grew up around dogs/cats of all kinds my whole life and have previous experience with dog sitting for friends while they were away on trips. I’ve also volunteered at my local animal shelter, where I spent time caring for and walking both dogs and cats. You don’t need to worry about traveling, as I have my own vehicle to travel. Because I work part time at a clinic, I’m available only afternoons and nights during the week. However, I'm available all day during the weekends. If you need a sitter, I would be unavailable to take them to my own house, but can stop in/stay at your place. Caring for an pet greatly depends on the pet themselves and the owner's desires. I love to play and be active with the animals if allowed. If a pet is older and doesn't like to be active for long, I enjoy just spending the quality time so they aren't lonely while their owner is away. I also always check in with the client about their pet's basic needs, such as how much they are fed and how often, how often they are let out, if there is any needs for any disabilities, etc.
About: I’m a caring person who loves dogs and grew up with a lab. I have experience with taking care of friends puppies and senior dogs. I love to play hard with them so they can sleep good for you! I can walk dogs before I go to work and, take them out immediately when I get back home. I will also make sure they are being fed at the right times. I’m happy to transport pets and have them stay at my apartment for up to a week. I will provide long walks with them on leash and follow procedures at a client’s home. Making sure that the pet is comfortable is a top priority for me.
“Melanie was wonderful as always! Our cats are always happy to see her . Everything was smooth and easy. Love the pictures she sends of the cats each visit. Will use her to watch our cats again in the future!!”

“Lance was excellent at keeping in touch and showing our lonely cat lots of affection. Every picture we got Galena was on their lap. Our cat was very well taken care of and felt comfortable with Lance.”

About: Hi! I’m Danielle, and I’d love to care for your cat while you’re away. I’m a millennial, born and raised in Florida, but I’ve lived in Minnesota for a decade. I’m a devoted cat owner to my sweet boy, Maverick, for over 10 years. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to take care of your kitty. I am very gentle, kind, and great with cats of all breeds! I provide calm and attentive care while following your instructions closely. During each visit I’ll provide fresh food, water, clean the litter box, offer playtime, and companionship. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about what days and times you'd like to book with me. I have a cat in my home that is shy around other animals, so I am not able to offer animal services in my home at this time. But I am happy to offer drop-in visits at your home and make sure your pet is well taken care of while you are away!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Pucketville
Wonderful. Very happy with the in home cat sitting versus putting my cat in a kennel. Shylina was very professional and provided daily updates on Bud which gave me confidence that Bud was okay while I was gone. I also was impressed that we had a meeting before I went on vacation and Shylina got to meet Bud and know what to expect. Will never put Bud a kennel again as this is so much better and easier, especially with someone like Shylina.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
