About: I love to make others feel more comfortable about leaving their beloved dog in capable hands while they are away! I work from home so the dogs are not left alone. I love dogs but am not ready to have two in my home full time. Pet sitting helps to keep my dog socialized. I am able to follow a strict routine, give medications and have very flexible drop off and pick up times. My dog is very friendly and I have a fenced in yard for plenty of playtime. I work from home so am here to care for them all day.
“Ruby had a wonderful time with Gerard and the other dogs. She was so tired when she gotnhome, and she was so excited to return later in the week. Would recommend Gerard to anyone!”

About: I have 2–3 years of experience on Rover, during which I’ve worked with countless breeds, sizes, ages, temperaments, energy levels, and medical needs. This experience has made me adaptable and confident in handling all types of pets- truly nothing phases me! I love animals and deeply value providing the highest level of care. It is a top priority to make sure the pets are happy and comfortable during an anxiety-provoking time for them. I’m very detail-oriented and always prioritize following all instructions closely, ensuring I meet both the pet’s needs and the owner’s expectations. I also place a strong emphasis on communication and can tailor how frequent and detailed my updates are in order to provide peace of mind for the owner. It is just as important to me to meet the needs of the owner as well as the pets’! I have a full time job working as a Triage Clinician Friday-Tuesday with Wednesday and Thursday off. My shift times vary from 7-9 hours, but I am able to be with your pets immediately before and after my shifts. I do everything I can to accommodate both you and your pets’ needs! I am always diligent about following all instructions and meeting the level of care needed for each animal. I am detail-oriented and value going above and beyond with communication and exceeding my clients' standards.
About: Although I have more experience with cats, I love all pets in all sizes! I will treat your fur baby exactly the way they are supposed to be treated, like a member of the family. I will make sure your pets are well cared for, loved, and I will try my best to make sure you receive updates along the way because that is what I would like, if it were me. If your buddy needs medicine or special care instructions, I am happy to oblige. I want to make sure your pet feels the least amount of stress possible, because I know how hard it can be when they are away from you. I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I have plenty of time during the week to care for your pet and take them for walks. Boarding can happen any day of the week. I have 2 kitties and a pup at home with an unfenced yard in a safe neighborhood. I will make sure your fur baby is cared for on the schedule you need to keep them on track. I do not have a crate, but if you'd like to provide one, I'm happy to crate your baby as needed. Because I stay at home, I will be picking up my kids from school during school days and would love to be able to bring your buddy with me during that time (if they aren't stressed about it).
About: I have taken care of animals for sixty plus years. Friends and family have entrusted me with caring for their pets. I have always had animals in my life. I am a retired nurse I am available to care for pets most days. I am trustworthy dependable and caring. Animals are a blessing to me. I have a huge fenced in backyard, with two friendly golden retrievers who would love to play with your pet. Also I can crate if needed.
“Our energetic Doodle could not have been in better hands. My wife often worries about using overcrowded and overstimulating pet daycare. We’re so glad we found Ellie (and her dog Red!). Luna is so happy to go there and we have no doubt she is safe. Bonus that she still comes home tired from all her fun!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Progress commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
