“Penny spent a week with Lindsey and her pack and she seemed to be very happy and content with her stay. Lindsey provided updates every morning and evening, letting me know that Penny had eaten her food and what she had done for the day. She also included pictures in which I could tell Penny was having fun. During her visit it was July 4 and Penny is extremely scared of fireworks. Lindsey made a safe space for Penny and checked on her consistently. I feel that Penny was in good hands with Lindsey and her family. I would not hesitate to leave Penny with Lindsay again!”

About: Hi, I’m Paula! Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—I’ve had dogs since I was 8 years old, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’m a complete softie for pets, and I do everything in my power to make sure every dog or cat in my care feels safe, loved, and genuinely happy. At home, my family includes two American Bullies and one cat, so I’m very comfortable with multi‑pet households and all the energy, personality, and joy that comes with them. I have a special love for bully breeds, but I truly enjoy working with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. Because my own pets have needed medication in the past, I’m experienced with administering medicine and keeping pets calm and comfortable during the process. Whether it’s daily routines, special instructions, or extra cuddles, I’m attentive and committed to giving each pet the best experience possible. My home is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from Medal of Honor Park—perfect for walks, sniff breaks, and outdoor time. I’m also only about 15 minutes from Hophounds, the dog park/bar, which gives me even more options for fun outings when appropriate. If you’re looking for someone who treats your pets like family, pays attention to the little things, and genuinely loves what they do, I’d be honored to care for your furry loved ones. Pet care is already a built‑in part of my everyday life. With two American Bullies and a cat at home, my routine naturally revolves around feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure everyone gets the attention they need. I’m used to managing different personalities and schedules, so adding another pet into my routine feels seamless. Throughout the week, I make time for morning and evening walks, enrichment, cleaning litter boxes, and keeping up with any medications or special instructions. Because caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, it never feels like an extra task—it’s just part of how my days flow. Whether it’s daily check‑ins or longer stays, I’m already in the rhythm of providing consistent, loving care. When pets stay in my home, they’re welcomed into a calm, safe, and pet‑friendly environment. I have two American Bullies and a cat, so I’m already used to managing different personalities and making sure everyone feels comfortable. I keep routines consistent with what each pet is used to—regular feeding times, walks, play sessions, enrichment, and plenty of affection. My home is in a quiet neighborhood just blocks from Medal of Honor Park, which makes daily walks and outdoor time easy and enjoyable. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel secure while their family is away. I follow all instructions closely, from feeding and litter care to walks, medication, and any special needs. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality and comfort level, whether that means slow introductions, extra playtime, or simply offering calm companionship. In both settings, my goal is the same: to make every pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for, just like I do with my own animals

About: I have a fully-fenced half acre and turn out dogs accordingly. Playing fetch, frisbee or dog pool when the weather is right. I am home through-out the day and night. My dog guests play in the back yard as I supervise, have access to the couch and bed or can be crated. Experienced in dog sporting events, medications and separation anxiety. Owners provide their own food. Crates available if needed. My life is centered around my dogs and I work from home. I have extra crates available if needed or your fur baby can supervise me as I work. Dogs are never left outside unattended. Dogs are let out either separately or with another depending on temperament. Dogs are all fed separately to avoid any conflicts. The splash pad is available every time they go outside if they choose to play with it along with oodles of toys. Dog poo removed immediately to ensure a safer yard environment.

“Gabrielle went way above and beyond while looking after my two dogs! They enjoyed at least two walks per day and frequent visits and lots of TLC, as well as some unexpected perks regarding behavior modification, i.e. she got one of my dogs to bark less! She was an absolute gem and frequently sent videos and photos of my dogs when I was away for three nights. I highly recommend using Gabrielle for your next special friend sitter!”

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

98% of sitters in Prichard can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Prichard home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Prichard.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Prichard. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

You and your Prichard sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
