“My dog Jordan was well taken care of. I highly recommend Raisa for dog boarding. She let me know how my pup was doing and sent pictures. She was very kind and I am grateful to have found her. Would definitely go through her again. 10/5 stars!”

“Thanks, Jennifer & Brent. As always, Copper had a great visit with you and we really appreciate your flexibility and accommodating style! Ron, Jennifer & Copper”

“We had the best experience with Martrice ! We received great communication and lots of pictures! Our boy suffers from separation anxiety and he thrived in her home while we were out of town for the week! Highly recommended booking! 😊”

“Carrie was beyond amazing! We rd can't describe how grateful I felt about Richard's experience with Carrie! First off, running into an emergency needing last minute accommodations had me in panic mode, she was able to take him the very next day. All my hesitation I had leaving my baby with someone I didn't know went away immediately after dropping Richard off. He was spoiled, loved, got a bath for getting a little to dirty playing, got snuggles and she even asked me for permission to take him to petco as they had ice cream day for dogs. Received photos, videos and Richard has 2 new buddies for life with Chester and Charlie! You won't be disappointed with Carrie, I won't vouch for many, but you and your baby will feel safe with Carrie while you are away! Thanks Carrie! I appreciate you so much!”

“Charlene took great care of our Gracie for a day and overnight while we were out of town. We were fortunate that she was able to accommodate us on short notice! Charlene also sent us lots of pictures and some videos where we could tell that Gracie was having lots of fun playing with her own dog Dora, as well as some downtime resting with Dora. We would definitely be happy leaving Gracie again in Charlene’s care.”

“Kirsten was amazing! Our dog, Blue, gave us the silent treatment the whole way home because we made him leave. She was prompt to reply, sent pictures, and was incredibly flexible with our itinerary. We also loved that he had friends who were his size to play with, her two dogs were very sweet and wore him out!! When we come back to the area, we'll definitely be using Kirsten again!”

“If I could give 10 stars I would! Dana and her family Rock! They were amazing with my 14 yo 5# Pomeranian, Roxie, was is a tri-pod. Roxie settled in nicely with Dana's super chill pups, and Dana. Dana sent us pictures of Roxie during her stay, while we enjoyed all Niagra Falls has to offer. We definitely recommend her and her family! We would (will!) Rebook with her next time!”
“This was my dog's first time with a sitter and he was visibly nervous when we first arrived, but Mindy was able to calm him down and make him comfortable very quickly. She sent many updates with pictures and videos and he was clearly very happy with her! I highly recommend her!”

“Jodie and John were excellent with our dogs. We have an elderly dog and a dog with special needs. We couldn't have picked better people to watch our dogs while we were away. They sent pictures everyday and updates. They put meds in our elderly dog's eyes daily. Absolutely wonderful place to take your dogs to. Our dogs had the best time ever!!”

“Heather and Matthew took good care of Mochi while I was away on the work trip. Mochi takes awhile to get used to new environments and people. However, she was able to adapt on the second day, which made her stay more enjoyable! Thank you Heather and Matthew.”

“Hayley was amazing! we could tell coco had a great time during her stay since she came home tired. She was very responsive and took care of all coco's needs. Definitely recommend her”

“Michael was a fantastic dog host and took great care of my pups. He provided regular updates and photos, communicated well, and my two dogs came home happy and healthy. Thanks!”

“Nichole took such good care of our dog, Juniper! She was so well cared for and enjoyed playing with Nichole's dog. Nichole sent lots of pictures and updates and even went as far as to clean her ears when she saw they were irritated. We could not recommend her more!”

“We’ve trusted Courtney with our dog for many years, and she’s been consistently reliable and kind. It’s clear she truly cares—our dog is always happy and well looked after. The sweetest part is that our dog’s best friend is her dog, so every stay feels like a visit with family rather than boarding. We’re really grateful to have her.”

“Emmy was awesome and super caring with Brownie. She immediarely welcomed him and made him feel at home. Her home has a really nice backyard with plenty of space for dogs. I know Brownie had a great time with Emmy and her family!”

“I left my 2 Norfolk terrier’s with Kelly for 13 days while I was in BC visiting my son. We communicated everyday and she sent pics and videos everyday as well, which was sooo awesome ! They went for walks everyday and played with other dogs. I am more than pleased with the care they received from Kelly and will definitely use her again ! Thank you Kelly”

“Alena is great! My babe Sasha was well taken care of & happy. Alena kept me updated with pictures & always respond. I’ve already booked my fur baby with her again”

“Kendra is amazing! We had a dog reactive dog that was surrendered to me and because I have two of my own this dog could not stay at my house overnight. I had a foster lined up for the morning. Kendra came in clutch, and boarded the dog for the night. Highly highly recommend her for ANYTHING on here. Professional, knowledgeable, and awesome with the dog.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Porter Center home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Porter Center.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Porter Center sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
