“Pat is wonderful. Her love for dogs comes through from the first few minutes of talking to her. I appreciated how thorough and prepared she was for our visit and my last minute request to sit for us as we came through Atlantic City on a road trip down the East Coast. Everything was perfect! We’ll be back next time I’m in the area!”

About: I have taken care of pets my entire life. I’ve had dogs, cats and fish. I’ve cared for lizards and small furry friends as well. I will always stop to pet a dog and I’ve had animals come up to me out in the wild on multiple occasions. Although I currently do not have a pet, I love sitting for my friends. I’ve cared for all size and age of dog from a few months to 16 years. I believe pets are family and should be treated as such. Im currently off for the summer but teaching summer school for the month of July. My schedule is pretty open and much if what I do have scheduled is flexible. Although I live in an apartment, my complex is extremely pet friendly with 4 dog parks and a full walking loop with poop bags around the entire property.
About: I grew up with dogs since I was born. My own dog, Trip has been with me since I was 18 years old. 2 years ago I adopted my first cat, Mako and fell in absolute love. I am happy to provide your pets the same love and care I do for my own while you are away. I am currently working full-time M-F, 9-4. But i have flexibility to stop home for lunches. I can board at my home anytime with proper consultation and care instructions. I have a 2 bedroom home with small fenced in yard. As well as a friendly dog and cat to keep your loved companion at ease.
“Lisa is incredibly caring and kind. She kept me updated with eating and sleeping and even followed up to check in on how Izzy was doing after the stay! I trust Lisa with my fur baby 100% and could not recommend her enough!”

“Michael is always dependable. He is updates me with photos and takes great care of my dog. I have used him several time and have nothing but great things to say. Thanks for always being available and providing such amazing care.”

“Sherlin was great and she was happy with my Buffy. She gave Buffy a great report card. Sherlin sent pictures & updates on Buffys stay which quieted my fears. Would definitely use Sherlin again and Sherlin would welcome Buffy back anytime.”

“Joanne was so nice and made us feel so at ease. She was very responsive, kind and trustworthy. We highly recommend her and would definitely have our dog stay with her again.”

“This is the first time we leave our little dog Lila with a dog sitter. We left her for a day and it was a fun day for her. Jada was amazing. She spoiled her and kept us updated with pictures and texts all day long. We will definitely use her services again in the future. Thank you so much Jada.”

“This was our first time boarding our 1 year old puppy and Kristen was so great with her! Luna typically has very bad anxiety and she got acclimated quickly. Kristen was able to administer her daily anxiety medication and help with potty training. I felt so relieved knowing she was in such great hands while we were out of state!”

“My fur babies came home happy and tired. Perfect! I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing Buster and Sipsy were in good hands. Nantikan will be my go to for all my future petsitting needs.”

“At the most opportune moment I had the good fortune to find Katherine and John to take care of Beeto, from his expression I can say that he received a lot of love and care. He certainly had a great time.”

“Marci and her family were warm and welcoming to our dogs. She was reliable and communicative. She provided regular photo updates and the dogs were well cared for. Thank you again!”

“Patricia took very good care of our doggie that boarded with her. We were lucky to find her on a short notice and lucky that we felt immediately reassured that he would be in good hands. An added bonus was her own sweet and happy dog who became a buddy to ours quickly. I recommend Patricia to anyone looking for a home away from home for their canine family members.”

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Port Republic home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
