“Rachael did a wonderful job taking care of our dog, Stella. We knew she would be a perfect fit for us. At our first meeting Stella really loved her as Rachael gave her many pats on the head and attention. Rachael sent us photos from each visit and I could tell Stella was happy. I could see her toys had been played with as well. We will definitely be asking for Rachael's help again! We are so thrilled the job she did for us.❤️”

About: I have always loved animals and have had pets throughout my life. I have cared for my own dogs, as well as pets belonging to family, friends, and neighbors. I had a Basset Hound who was part of my family for 10 years, and I also have a Golden Retriever who has been with my family since she was a puppy. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I am a caring, responsible, and patient person who genuinely enjoys being around animals. I love getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel happy, safe, and comfortable while their family is away. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, including puppies and larger dogs, and I am also happy to care for cats. I would love the opportunity to give your pets the same love and attention I would give my own. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will carefully follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, medication if needed, and any other specific care. I will also keep you updated during my visits or stay so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have been caring for them since I was 9. I have experience with all kinds of personalities, from easygoing dogs to more high-maintenance pets. I grew up with a Labrador/Mastiff mix and now have an older Beagle, two Golden Retrievers, and two cats. So I’m comfortable caring for pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities! I’m currently a junior biology student at RMC and plan to pursue veterinary medicine. I’ve also worked as a kennel technician at a boarding facility for 3 years, where I cared for a variety of dogs and cats and learned how to recognize changes in behavior and health, prevent stressful situations, and safely handle different personalities. I’m trained in giving pill and oral medications as well as applying topical medications such as ointments, oils, and sprays. I understand how important it is for medications to be given correctly and on time, especially for pets who rely on medications for conditions like heart or seizure issues. Most importantly, I want your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, stimulation, and lots of care based on their individual needs. I’m currently a college student at RMC, so my weekday availability depends on my class schedule. My classes are Mondays from 9:10 AM–4:30 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00–9:30 AM, 1:20–2:50 PM, and 4:00–5:00 PM, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:10 AM–12:20 PM. I’m best available for house sitting on weekends. During the weekdays, I’m available for cat clients and dogs who don’t need consistent potty breaks throughout the day. I can stay at your home once I’m finished with classes for the day. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I can also stop by for a 1–2 hour period after 9:30 AM. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. With 3 years of experience as a kennel technician, I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. I follow your instructions closely and make sure pets receive their meals, medications, exercise, and attention as requested. For house sitting, I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own and keep you updated while you’re away. I want both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident while they’re in my care.

About: I will spoil your dogs like I do mine! They will be entertained and loved throughout their stay! I do have 2 furry children (Chihuahua and Aussie) that get along with other dogs. We spend a lot of time outside playing ball and frisbee! We live on a farm and have plenty of land for them to run around! I will make sure they are comfortable and taken care of! My Chihuahua-Terrier “Charlie” was a rescue. He’s your typical “yappy” Chihuahua that I said I would never have but I couldn’t leave him homeless! My Aussie is energetic and is always looking for a playmate! Can’t wait to meet them! Our dogs are on a schedule but sometimes we spend more days outside than in depending on the weather. They will always be watched and never left alone! I live on over 3 acres and have a huge fenced in field where we go to play and potty! They have plenty of room to play and are always accompanied outside. We only crate if that is part of their routine. We are up early every morning (life of living on a farm!) Our Aussie loves to play until the sun goes down. Our animals typically eat the same time everyday. I feel it’s important to keep your animals on a consistent daily routine! I care for our guests the same as I care for my own dogs. They will be in a loving and calm household while they are here.

About: My biggest priority is maintaining each pet’s established routine! I always ask owners about their pet’s feeding, walking, grooming, medication, and training schedules, and I follow their instructions as closely as possible to ensure consistency and comfort while they’re away. If a pet doesn’t have a specific schedule, I typically begin the day around 8 AM with breakfast, followed by a morning walk. I usually aim for about a mile, but I’m happy to go farther for energetic pups or adjust the distance and pace for senior dogs or those with different physical needs. Afterward, I’ll wipe their paws, clean them up if needed, and spend time playing, providing enrichment, or reinforcing their usual training routines. Throughout the day, I balance exercise and playtime with plenty of affection and relaxation. For quieter pets or senior dogs, I love bringing a book and reading aloud while keeping them company and giving them lots of love! During downtime, I also make an effort to tidy up and maintain the home. My motto is to always leave a space better than I found it! In the evening, I typically follow up with dinner, another walk, and some quality time before settling in for the night. I also enjoy cooking, and with the owner’s permission, I’m happy to prepare a little dog-safe treat or meal using appropriate ingredients, provided it aligns with their dietary needs and restrictions. Above all, I’m flexible! Whether your pet thrives on a strict schedule, needs extra exercise, prefers a slower pace, or simply wants someone to cuddle with, I’m happy to adapt my day to whatever makes them feel happiest and most comfortable. I am currently going to school part time on Tuesdays and Thursdays so those days are the most difficult to schedule for me. I also work part time at Mad Science of CVA, where I am scheduled by season and typically work once-twice a week for two hours at a time. I can pet sit on these days, but depending on the time of my shift for MSCVA, I may have to leave for two-three hours before returning. My biggest priority is maintaining each pet’s established routine! I always ask owners about their pet’s feeding, walking, grooming, medication, and training schedules, and I follow their instructions as closely as possible to ensure consistency and comfort while they’re away. About: I’ve had pets nearly my whole life and have been known to struggle to walk past an animal in need. This means rescuing an injured squirrel, a Cooper’s hawk, an opossum, and more, going the extra mile even when it was deeply inconvenient for me to do so. I also grew up attending zoo camp and then volunteering at a zoo from age 5 to 14, caring for a wide range of animals. I have worked with high energy pitties, a blind and anxious German shepherd, birds, cuddly kitties, fearful kitties, diabetic kitties, rabbits, and others. I have administered shots, IVs, medications, eye drops, and more. I am persistent and typically can win over even the shyest and most anxious fur baby. I have a genuine love for caring for pets and would be honored to care for yours! I am currently carefully thinking about my next full time role and working part time. My partner is an immigrant seeking employment during a time when that is extremely difficult due to the political situation. Any supplemental income is incredibly helpful for me as we navigate. I have a reliable vehicle, plenty of time to play with your pets, and love to love on them. I have a reliable car and I keep my word. I am communicative, honest, and truly love animals. I take direction well and understand that every pet has their specific needs. I don’t cut corners and do my best to provide top notch care, always.

About: I currently work full time at a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant so I have medical training if something were to go wrong which I hope it doesn’t. I currently have 2 dogs and three cats. I have trained puppies before and I know how much extra care senior pets need since all of mine are seniors. Since I work full time I can do daily walks and potty breaks between 2 and 3pm Monday thru Friday and weekends I’m available anytime. In my home it will be strictly leash walks because the yard is not fenced. In your home it will be the same unless your yard is fenced.

About: I have cared for dogs starting in middle school, for a variety of neighbors, friends, and family members. I really enjoy spending my time with dogs, whether that be walking, playing, or just relaxing together. I currently am participating in a program with America's Vet Dogs, where future service dogs are trained by inmates at local prisons, and individuals/families sign up to take 1 dog every weekend for a year, to provide the experiences out in the world that these pups need to become amazing service dogs! This is my second year my mother and I have been a part of this program, and I have learned so much about dog training that I never knew before! I feel confident that this experience with training and taking care of a dog that isn't mine has made me a qualified pet sitter. I am currently in grad school, so I have free time during the day to walk or drop in on pets! I can be quite flexible with my availability and schedule because of the nature of my grad program. In your home, I will ensure that your pet is safe and cared for always. Whatever your home situation, I can easily accommodate to your dogs and cats the best care, making sure that they feel loved and are having fun! I love to get outdoors, and can easily handle active dogs with lots of walks and playing!

About: I have been around dogs my entire life. I grew up with a GSP, Weimaraner, St. Bernard, and a couple labs. I have been dog sitting/house sitting a GSP for the same family for 6 years. I have two GWPs and I am used to high energy breeds. I have a flexible schedule and am willing to help - just let me know your needs! I work full-time, but I do work from home some days. My schedule is flexible and I usually come home at lunch to let my own dog out when I have to go into the office. I am a dog lover and I let mine on my furniture to snuggle. I play with Stark outside often and really take him everywhere that I can. He goes with me to the farmers market, the coffee shop, and other places. When I have dog sat in the past, I’ve always taken the dog I’m watching along as well!

“This was our first time using Rover. Riley was helpful in explaining how it worked. She watched our cat for several visits for two days. For each visit she sent information on how the visit went. Unfortunately our kitty would run and hide after greeting her so she couldn’t get many pictures. She even went and found him and sat trying to convince him to come out! He ate well during her visits and she was kind to clean up the dirty cat bowls each time! It’s also very comforting knowing Riley has experience working in a vet clinic.”

About: With three years of experience in animal welfare with time spent at CASPCA, RSPCA and RAL, I’ve had the joy of working with all kinds of dogs and kitties and getting to know the wonderful families who love them. As well as growing up in a rescue based household for German Shepards. My passion for animal care has only grown, and I’m always looking for new ways to continue doing what I love most: helping pets feel happy, safe, loved, and cared for like family. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, some extra attention while you’re away, or simply a little companionship during the day, I’m here to provide the personalized care, patience, and love they deserve. I know how much our pets mean to us, and I treat every dog I care for as if they were my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind while making sure your furry family member gets plenty of exercise, enrichment, cuddles, and tail-wagging adventures! 🐕✨ Because happy pets = happy families! 🐾 I’m daily caring for my five at home cats as well as my two resident dogs. My availability is currently very open so I'm looking for ways to continue helping families and their pets! Whatever that may be. I love shedules and appreciate them myself when I am leaving my pets with sitters. Your needs are my top priorities. I have a lot of experience with medication administration, behavioral concerns, and training needs. I want to make sure the pets and people are totally comfortable.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Pollards Corner

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 2,086 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Pollards Corner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pollards Corner. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
