About: I have worked 4 years in the veterinary medicine field as a credentialed certified veterinary assistant and I have cared for many animals at many stages in life. I am able to provide high quality care with giving medications, subcutaneous fluids if needed, subcutaneous injections if needed for those medically diagnosed, and are able to know body language extremely well. I am very flexible and am open to moving my schedule around for any time that will be more accommodating to my client to help them feel more at ease. I always go above and beyond for my babies and would do the same for clients as well. I’ve always had a heart for animals since I was young and as I have helped animals in more conditions than 1, ranging from puppy-senior, healthy-chronically ill, I have a background that is made to have an attention to detail for fur babies and can put your mind at ease knowing your babies are in great hands.

About: I've had dogs ever since I was a kid. Now I have my own dog that I am training to be a service dog and it is going very well. I have also helped train other dogs too. I also regularly go-to animal shelters and spend time with dogs still trying to find a home and help socialize them. I work part time at the Zoo so sometimes I am working a full day. I take my dog to daycare at least once a week to help him socialize and get out more since he is the only dog I have. I do have a lot of exotic animals plus my ferrets that I take care of daily before bed. Especially with the ferrets I make sure they get out and play enough. Your dog will always be supervised indoors and outdoors. I am confident in handling any situation that might happen even if it's navigating helping a nervous or stressed animal.

About: I am a graduate student at the University of Idaho and am missing having everyday interaction with animals. I volunteer at a local shelter occasionally on the weekend, and I have 2 dogs of my own back in California, so I have tons of experience. I'm more comfortable with dogs. I have a pretty flexible schedule and spend most days at home doing schoolwork. I would love to help you and your fur babies out in any way possible, so please don't hesitate to reach out !! I can guarantee a quick response and am flexible with cancellations etc. My schedule is very flexible, and a majority of the time will be spent caring for your fur baby. This summer I am looking for something to keep my mind off of things and what better way than to get some doggy cuddles. When coming to your home I wanted you dogs to feel safe and comfortable as if you were there. All the dogs I care for are treated as my own!

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and can’t imagine life without them! I’ve had my own dog for 5 years now and there aren’t many days we don’t go on our daily walk. While living abroad, I also helped walk and dog sit for my neighbor whenever she was away. I treat every pup like they’re my own and make sure they get plenty of love, care, and attention. Right now I have a very flexible schedule, which means I can easily fit in walks, drop-ins, or overnight care throughout the week. I love spending time outdoors and with dogs, so I make pet care a regular part of my day. As my schedule changes down the road, I’ll be sure to keep my availability up to date so you always know when I’m open for bookings. When I’m caring for pets in their own home, I always follow their usual routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I make sure to respect your space and keep things just the way you like them. Whether it’s feeding, walks, or playtime, I stick to your pet’s normal schedule and give them plenty of attention and care while you’re away.

My fiancee and I can not say enough great things about Benjamin and how he took care of our furry goons and our house. Our cat and dog seemed to love him and he did a absolutely fantastic job of keeping us updated and the fur kids entertained. We were gone for 3 1/2 weeks in South Africa and came back to 2 happy animals and a very neat house. We told him to knock himself out and help himself to anything in the fridge, freezer or pantry and yet he still replaced some V-8 drinks and Corn Nuts he had consumed. We told him that was un-necessary but he did it anyway. I would absolutely recommend Benjamin to pet or house sit and would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for someone to take care of the fur kids and their home. Benjamin, thank you for making us feel good about leaving our fur babies and our home in your hands!

About: Whether your dog needs play time or a quiet environment, they will love hanging out with me and my 4 legged companion. When I'm not working, my dog and I go on some pretty cool adventures together and he loves it when I dog sit a dog at his speed. Your dog will not be cooped up in a kennel unless you make this request. When they are not playing, your pet will be kept indoors. I have over 10 years of working with bully breeds and hybrids. High energy breeds is my field of expertise. My home is minutes from the beautiful San Antonio River and we visit there often. Some of our favorite hangouts are, the Pearl Brewery, San Antonio Riverwalk, Alamo Quarry, Calaveras Lake and many nature trails in our area. I will spoil your Best Friend as I do my own. Proceeds from my Pet sits will benefit my non profit that provides emergency groceries for Homebound Seniors. About this sitter: I totally get it! Let me visit your pets in the comfort of their own home. I'm use to traveling and frequent the major cities of TX every month. I am very familiar with the city of S.A. and surrounding. Your dog will receive a walk twice a day if you would like him or her to. I have trained and worked with all breeds and sizes so no dog is too big or high energy for me! Why I love dog sitting My Grandfather raised German Shepherds and my Father loved Large Breeds. Growing up, I remember always having dogs. In 2000 I started a group called Mutt Rescue & Adoption to help save dogs that are pending euthanasia at the city Pound. Our group rescued and transported animals nationwide. We saved thousands of dogs from euthanasia! My experience administering medication I can administer medication by oral or injection. I can take your do on early morning walks/runs or late runs, temperature and weather permitting. I am an avid runner so high energy breeds work great with my lifestyle! I try to stick to the dog's current schedule. If it's a puppy, then I help with the toilet training process. I do have 2 cats in my home, but they can be separated to another bedroom if your dog does not co exist well with cats.

About: I’ve spent most of my life caring for animals, from growing up around ranch animals to becoming a reliable friend and coworker people trust with their pets. I have experience with both high-energy animals and pets that need a gentler approach, and I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and overall comfort. Creating a calm, clean, and safe environment is always a priority. I’m especially patient with shy or sensitive cats and take the time to earn their trust at their own pace, always following each owner’s routine to keep things consistent and stress-free. With a background in the military providing medical care, caring for others comes naturally to me, whether it be a service member or your furry family member. I’m dependable, attentive, and communicate clearly so you always feel at ease while you’re away. I genuinely care about what I do, and that doesn’t change from one home to the next. I work weekday mornings until early afternoon (0730/1400) and maintain reliable availability for check-ins, walks, and overnight care. My weekends are fully open for flexible scheduling. I’m prompt, detail-oriented, and committed to following each pet’s routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I’m attentive to each pet’s routine and environment, whether I’m caring for them in their home or elsewhere. I keep spaces clean, safe, and comfortable, and I treat each space with respect from home to home which will never change. I follow instructions closely, pay attention to behavior and comfort, and keep things calm and consistent while you’re away. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and take responsibility seriously when caring for both your pet and your home.

FAQs for House Sitting - Pleasanton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pleasanton on Rover is $23 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 471 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pleasanton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pleasanton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pleasanton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pleasanton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pleasanton. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
