“Absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend Chestney! She was always on time and took great care of our pups while we were. She communicated everything that we asked. We will definitely be using her in the future.”

“Baleigh went above and beyond for my cats. I had sudden plans change and she was extremely accommodating and kind to work with me. She kept my home clean, took plenty of pics of my cats for me, and gave them attention despite them being shy. I would recommend Baleigh for anybody!”

“I love her work. She's so responsable and super patient. Take her time to know them. Follow instrucctions very well. I will definetly count with her in a futuro! Thanks Tessa! Happy New Year!”

“Molly took very good care of our two cats. Thanks to her maintaining their litter box my house smelled nice and clean when we got home! She is a sweet young woman and very reliable and responsible. I was a little nervous about a stranger having access to my house but I realized quickly she was trustworthy. She communicates well and sent reports and photos of my cats which put my mind at ease. I will definitely use Molly again when I need a sitter.”

About: I have a total of 4 years within veterinary medicine so I am specialized in both canines and felines. I am certified in most canine behavioral courses, and I do have certificates that were required by my day job at the Humane Society. I currently work part time for the humane society. My shifts are 8AM-3PM. My availability during the week is only limited to evenings but I do not have them listed on the app. Within my home we have a large property with 2 small dogs. Dogs will be leashed for walks just to ensure safety and not have any little wanderers in my neighborhood! At a client's home, I am there for the pets care. Once their needs are completed, I will do my best to make sure they are comfortable before I make my exit and especially devote time for love and attention!

“Melissa was amazing with my pets, Dakota and Stormy. She was always on time, never late, and very attentive to their needs. Dakota loved her right away, and even Stormy warmed up to her, which says a lot. It really gave me peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

“This was my first time to use Rover. I chose Megan because she had great reviews, this will be another good one. She was taking care of my three cats while I was gone for a week. She was very professional, showed up when she said and took very good care of my animals.”

“Anne did a really great job taking care of my two kitties and completed everything I asked her to do. She’s punctual and responsive. I hired Anne almost last minute and she replied very quickly. Thank you for taking care of my fur babies.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for 8 years, starting when I was 15 and in high school. What began as a way to earn extra money quickly became something I genuinely loved! I recently moved to Beaumont to pursue my Doctorate in Audiology, and being away from home made me realize how much I missed being around animals. I’m excited to get back into pet sitting through Rover and meet some new furry friends! 🐾💗 I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and care I’d want for my own. Whether they need walks, playtime, cuddles, or a little company, I’m happy to be there for them! 🐶💕 I’m a full-time Doctor of Audiology student, so my schedule varies, but I’m usually available Friday through Sunday. During the week, I’m generally available after 5:00 PM for evening walks, drop-ins, and pet care. I’m happy to work with your schedule and will always make sure I have enough time to give your pet the attention and care they deserve! 🐾💗 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities! 🐾 I provide a calm, loving, and attentive environment and always follow each pet’s routine, including feeding, walks, medications, and any special instructions. For boarding, I currently live in a dorm, so I can only accommodate small, well-behaved dogs that are comfortable in a smaller living space. I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, cuddles, and care throughout their stay. For care in your home, I’ll treat your space with respect and care for your pet as if they were my own. 💗

About: Hi, my name is Reyna and I've had pets all my life. From bunnies to cats and now I am the loving pawrent of 2 Dachshunds named Nitro and Winnie and 1 recently adopted Chihuahua named Larue. I completely understand that eventhough we wish we could take our furbabies wherever we go sometimes that is not an option. You can count on me to check up on your babies if you ever head out for the day and need peace of mind. I can drop in for a check in, feed them, walk them, play with them and head back out. I am a full time employee during the week but I am available most Fri-Sun. I am a full-time employee Monday-Thursday. I am available most Friday-Sunday for drop in visits with your pets especially if told ahead of time. You can count on me to drop in and feed, walk or play with your babies. I know some have more energy than others and require more walking and playing than others and I can do that. You can trust to let me know what your furbabies activity level is so I can plan an exciting drop in visit for them.
About: I’ve taken care of animals as a kennel tech and vet assistant since I was 15 years olds. And my degrees and career field revolves around veterinary medicine. I have nothing but free time to sit at home and care for your animals. There may be limited weekend availability depending on if I’m allowed to visit home once a month. I have an unfenced yard if your animal is a great listener, if not there is tons of space and a dog park for me to give them outside enrichment. Animals are free range in my home unless they have social issues. There are man areas that small kennels and gates can be placed to allow for separation if needed.
“This was our first time using a dog sitter and Taylor made the process painless. When we had a meet up prior to our trip we really enjoyed getting to know her and hear about her past experience. She followed our instructions and sent us pictures at every visit. We felt safe and secure with Taylor watching our dog. We met up with Taylor about a week after our trip to tip her and get our key back, our dog raced up to her and was so excited to see her. This confirmed our feelings of security and safety. I would (and have already) recommend Taylor to others. She obviously loves pets and really cares about the pets and people she works with.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
