About: Growing up my parents have always loved dogs. As kids, my siblings & I never had to beg for dogs because my parents were already on board. Throughout my life I’ve raised 6+ dogs into seniorhood with my family & I’ve raised 2 Australian shepherds on my own & I like to say they’ve all turned out to be pretty amazing dogs. I have such a special place in my heart for dogs & just caring for them & watching them enjoy life is what puts a smile on my face. I just moved back home to Pierre so currently my availability is completely open while I job search :) I do have a dog of my own that I enjoy running, walking, hiking, & training agility with & I’d love to do the same for yours! With my schedule being so open right now, pet care is my main hobby you could say! I have a very friendly 4 year old Australian shepherd at my home! I walk him twice a day with one outing being a run, a hike, or agility training for his mental health! Accommodating your pet does not mean mine needs to come along but is happy to if your pup loves company! In my previous years of pet sitting & dropping in, it’s always top priority of each & every day & I make sure to get all the quirks of each dog I visit so I can know what makes them most comfortable & safe!

About: I’m from Pierre, SD, and I’ve grown up around animals my entire life. I’ve worked with all types of animals and am incredibly comfortable, confident, and attentive when it comes to loving and caring for them. Your pets’ safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priority. I am a teacher and typically work M-FRI from 730am to 3:16pm. Aside from that,I am pretty flexible. I would be able to come by in the mornings or after school. Typically, the weekends I would have more availability. I prefer to come to your home for pet sitting. If you require daily walks and check ins that is no problem so long as you are comfortable with working around my school hours on week days. I am happy to meet your needs and those of your pets. I love walking, playing and cuddling. Let me know your preferences and should I or you have any questions or concerns we can further discuss. Also, I don’t have formal training administering meds orally or via injection but I feel comfortable if you walk me through the process.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
