“Shelby does a fantastic job with our cats every time we are away! She’s always attentive to their needs and spends time making sure they get lots of love and playtime. She sends great updates and pics from each visit so we know how they are doing. They can be pretty messy with kicking litter around, but she stays on top of that too. We appreciate the five star service every time!”

About: I’ve owned a dog just about my whole life. I had to say bye to my 17 year old companion a couple years back. I now have a 12 year old dog Sparrow, and we added a 2 year old Klee Kai to our family named RC! We do daily walks, rain, snow, or shine! I am a full time stay and home mom of two so I am very available to walk and take care of your pets needs while my boys are in school. I have a fully fenced good sized backyard. I have 2 friendly small (14 lbs) dogs who loves to meet new friends. I am willing to taking the precautions needed to make sure your pet is safe!
“Faith went the extra mile to make sure our cat was cared for, and we were so thankful! She was responsive, friendly and sent us updates while we were away. We enjoyed meeting her before our trip.”

“Arianne was great with our boy Carbon. It was his first time spending a night without me or my husband present since we got him 3+ years ago, and she made sure that it wasn't a bad experience for him. We definitely went overboard when it came to providing information about him, but Arianne was able to handle it all without issue. 6/5.”

“Kairi was so quick with responding and very compassionate. She took great care of my girl for a very last minute need. I would recommend her to anyone and will book again if the need arises. Thank you!!”

“Monet was great! She took great care of the animals and did a few little extra things that we asked. When my bird got stuck in her toy she was great and saved her life. I would definitely hire her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Ronda always takes such great care of our kitty. Always appreciate her flexibility and Nola clearly loves the attention! Highly recommend Ronda for excellent cat sitting!”

About: I have experience working with zoo animals and I’ve worked at my local humane society and vet clinic. I take the time to understand each dog’s unique behavior in order to become the best of friends! At the vet clinic I was a boarding assistant so each day I handled dozens of different dogs. I try to learn about your pet and treat them just like any other living creature. I have rehabilitated a dog that was destined to be euthanized because of his aggressive behavior. I spent every day with him and did what needed to be done to help him realize the world isn’t that scary when you have a friend to explore it with. Although cats are my animal of choice, dogs are a close second. I work full time as a lab tech at a small dental arts studio. My three co-workers, our boss, and I all have a mutual respect and understanding of each other’s needs. I think we would all agree that pets and personal affairs come first. Meaning I can easily leave work to manage your animals as needed. I have had pets in the house my entire life. I currently live with two cats a a dog, so having your pet stay with me would not really be an option. If your dog is friendly to other dogs, our dog, Beasley, is very well behaved and loves to play with anything that moves! In past house/pet sitting jobs I have gone to the dog park with both her and the owner’s dogs so if that is something you would be ok with I we would have so much fun doing that!
“She took care of my girl and followed instructions! No issues my dog was so happy and comfortable. I will definitely be booking again for future visits! :) I needed someone to come hang out with my dog on Christmas Eve and it was so last minute. Extremely grateful!”

“Tina was very reliable and amenable to changing plans for the day, and our pups got plenty of attention on multiple walks throughout the day. Will use her services again and highly recommend.”

“Really appreciate Joslin's help with Arthur. He can sometimes get separation anxiety and shed a lot after a trip, but he didn't have that at all. She was also flexible with some of his feeding issues. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Mary was fantastic and took very good care of my cat, Romeo. I was gone a week and Mary was great. She communicated with me while I was gone and sent me pictures. His litter box was clean and he was a happy cat. Thanks, Mary!”

“We met Candice and felt confident in her love for animals. She took good care of our cats and even had a few extra visits. She sent photos and updates. We hope she will be available next time we leave town!”

About: I have had dogs since I was a kid, but I manage a now 3 year old super hyper Hungarian Vizsla which is basically like handling a child! I love active dogs and I will do whatever to make your dog feel at home! It can be scary leaving your dog with a stranger but I will treat your dog like my own! I am willing to take care of a dog over 50 lbs but under 70 lbs as long as they are well behaved and not aggressive, this is for the safety of me, my dog, and your dog. Let me know if your dog is an escape artist or jumps fences! I ask all pets to be up to date on their basic vaccinations please! I work in the military full time but have no social life so I am available on the weekends as needed! I am also available Friday nights! I have my own yard. I can provide a potty break anytime and even help train an untrained dog if needed. My dog is super friendly and he is in need of friends as well!
“Tannah is the sweetest! She watched our cat for us while we were out for a week. We enjoyed getting the daily updates and photos, and our kitty seems to have really taken to Tannah :) Totally recommend her!”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
