Chyrl is absolutely amazing! She is so kind, patient, and warm. She took care of mine and my in law’s 3 cats and 2 dogs for a few days (housesitting) and she went above and beyond. We felt so comfortable knowing the pets were in good hands with her. She was also a great sport about a mishap our house had with the smoke alarms in the middle of the night. 😂 we will 100% call her again when we need someone to watch our animals. Thank you, Chyrl!!!

About: I have had all sorts of animals throughout life. Currently I have a 7 year old German Shepard and a 2 year old miniature poodle. I also have a duck, goose, and about 40 chickens. I am new to this site. Be my first client 💜🐶 I am currently able to sit at your home which is less stressful for your fur babies. I work full time as an elementary teacher and otherwise will be available. A typical day is arriving to work at 7am and home by 4. Mid day visits can be possible with some prior notice depending on location Our pets are part of our family and are treated as such. Animals bring such a sense of purpose to our life. About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and caring for them has always come naturally to me. Before getting a dog of my own, I spent a year working with a pet sitting company, gaining hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and care needs. Now, my dog Miller is my whole world, and I understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets like family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just extra love and attention, I’m committed to making every pet feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I currently have another job however your pets are still my priority. I think we can definitely work something out to make sure your pets get the care they need. My dog Miller is a huge part of my life, and I take his care seriously, from regular exercise and attention to making homemade meals to keep him healthy and happy. I also travel often for work, and Miller comes with me whenever possible, so I understand the importance of routine, companionship, and making pets feel included and comfortable no matter the environment. I treat every pet like family and always go the extra mile to make sure they feel safe, loved, and at home.

Lauren was great! My dogs don’t like staying at boarding and having them be able to stay at home where they’re comfortable and know there was someone taking care of them made me much less stressed while I was out of town

About: I have a love for all animals, as a child growing up I have always wanted to be a Veterinarian Assistant. I began doing foster care for dogs in 2020 after doing this for a while I felt a much greater need to help even more. I began my own dog rescue in 2020. I walk, play, love and care for each animal. I have rescued and rehomed several dogs to safe and loving homes. I treat them as if they were my own. The unbreakable bond between pets and their people is something that will forever warm my heart! I’m currently working part time. I’m available after work and on my off days. Just message me and we can make things work! I’m more than happy to help! I have three fur-babies of my own and they love to run around and play outside, there is 7-acres of land, and the best part is not by any main roads, it’s private. I also walk my dogs or let them play inside with some toys. Depending on your pet and your instructions for your pet, I’ll make sure that your pet and you as well feel comfortable with things. If it’s a client’s home then whatever instructions are given I’ll make sure to go by!

About: I have experience caring for a variety of pets and really enjoy connecting with each one’s unique personality. I’m especially drawn to small- to medium-sized dogs who enjoy both adventures—like hikes or trips to the park—and cozy cuddle time at home. I also love social cats who enjoy attention and interaction. In addition, I have some experience caring for fish and ensuring their environments are clean and healthy. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I’ve been pet sitting for friends and family alongside my “job” for about 13 years and now my schedule is much more flexible so I’m eager to make this my primary focus. My work schedule fully flexible so I’m able to work around the schedule of the pets. I do like to take dogs on little adventures if they’re allowed so if there’s a hike they love, we’ll be sure to prioritize that in our schedule!

About: Animals have always been part of my daily life — I currently share my home with a sweet 10-year-old cat and a 5-month-old terrier puppy, so I’m no stranger to different personalities or energy levels! Training my own puppy from the start taught me patience, structure, and how to keep even the most playful pets focused and happy. I also have a close relationship with a licensed veterinarian whom I can consult at any time. While I’m not a medical professional myself, this connection gives me added confidence in handling emergency situations calmly and responsibly. I treat every cat and dog like family, making sure they feel loved, secure, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet needs calm companionship, structured puppy play, or just someone who understands both meows and woofs, I’ve got it covered. Your pets will get personalized attention, plenty of affection, and the same love and consistency they’re used to at home. Hi there! Currently working part time while I study for my courses and exams for cybersecurity. I’m a smart, quick thinking guy with a big heart - especially when it comes to animals! I will be sure to follow any and all safety guidelines you provid. Your pet’s safety and security is my number one priority, and they’re in excellent hands!

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and they’ve always been my favorite kind of company. I’m patient and keep things calm and low-key. I only watch one dog at a time, so you can rest assured that I will treat your dog as if they were my own. Since I work remotely, your dog won’t be left alone much and will get attention throughout the day. I make sure to follow whatever routine helps your dog feel most comfortable. Happy to send you photos and updates throughout the day as well. I’m flexible with pickup and drop off times. I will be with your pup all day, and they’ll get plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s routine. If they’re a high energy dog, they’ll get long walks. If they’re a senior or low energy, I’ll take them on shorter walks or just let them sniff in the yard.

About: I have been caring for animals for many years and have experience with dogs of various sizes, ages, and temperaments and cats as well. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and dependable to care for your pets while you're away. I am comfortable with feeding, walking, administering basic medications, providing companionship, and maintaining established routines. I have experience caring for both small and large dogs and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive interactions. I am attentive to each pet's individual needs and strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. As an educator and professional, I am responsible, detail-oriented, and committed to clear communication. I will provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are receiving excellent care. I have a completely open schedule in the summer besides the odd voice lesson and a church job on Sunday mornings that would have me gone for 2-3 hours at most. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priorities. I understand that every pet has unique needs, routines, and personalities, and I am committed to following your instructions carefully to ensure they receive the best possible care. I strive to create a calm, positive, and trustworthy environment where pets feel secure and loved while their owners are away. I believe in clear communication and will provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for. I am attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels and will promptly communicate any concerns. Whether caring for your pet in your home or during walks and visits, I will treat them with the same kindness, patience, and respect that I give my own animals.

About: Hi! I’ve had dogs my entire life and they’ve always been at the center of my world. My most recent pup, Effy, was with me for 15 years — she was truly the love of my life. While I’m not quite ready to have a dog of my own again, I couldn’t imagine my life without them, which is why I’m so excited to be here on Rover! Your pet will be loved and cared for like my own. I can’t wait to meet them I work from home Monday–Friday, so your pet will have my full attention throughout the day — no long stretches alone. I am able to work remotely so care during the day is no issue. I live in an apartment in Meraux above my dad’s office, so while there’s no yard, we have plenty of space to get outside for walks. There are stairs, but I’m happy to carry pets up and down as needed.

About: I love dogs of all kinds. I understand the seperation anxiety a dog can experience when their owners are away and will do everything I can to make them feel comfortable. I don't have any children in the house but lots of toys for the four legged babies to play with. My house is very dog friendly with cushie pillows and dogs beds to snuggle in. I provide fleece blankets for the dogs to lay on if they're not comfortable on the pillows or dog beds. Even with a huge fenced backyard, I will always go out with the dogs to play with them and make sure they stay safe. I have two dogs of my own to keep you dog company. Your dog will feel lots of love until you return.

Kasha was absolutely amazing! My boys loved her so very much. I ended up coming home earlier than expected and Kasha was taking the boys on a walk when I got there. I expected them to freak out seeing me… nope they were happy and content being with her. She sent me pictures of the boys, kept me updated, even cleaned my camper for me! I highly recommend Kasha and will definitely be having her help me with my boys again in the future!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Picayune

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 161 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Picayune. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Picayune walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Picayune maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Picayune choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Picayune. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 83% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
