About: I am a work at home professional who owns dogs, cats, and horses currently. Also have had rabbits! Avid volunteer at the local Humane Society, and have also captured and rescued a feral cat population. I have owned pedigree breed cats and dogs as well as rescue pets. I have done some obedience training with our dogs, and have worked with puppies to crate train and potty train. I have worked with assimilating new pets into our homes so have a keen sense of how animals need to interact to feel safe and secure. I work full time, however work from home. That means I am available all day for play and potty time as needed for pet sitting in my home, and am flexible for in home visits. Our daughter is currently a junior at UGA, so we decided to do move here to Greensboro to be able to be close to her. We live on almost an acre and back to a golf course. While no fenced yard, we do have lots of space for pups to play around our house
“Melissa is wonderful with large dogs and did a fantastic job caring for my two shepherds. She took the time to get to know their personalities and routines, which made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. Her communication was excellent, she was dependable, and it was clear she genuinely cared about my dogs' well-being. It's not easy finding someone confident and experienced with large breeds, but Melissa exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, professional, and caring pet sitter. I will absolutely use her again.”

“Marianne took excellent care of Jinxie while we were out of town for 6 days. She walked and played with her and sent frequent updates with photos. Marianne stayed in our home and kept our home tidy while she was here. I highly recommend Marianne as an excellent caregiver.”

“I would highly recommend Briana. My pups absolutely adored her. She was thoughtful and attentive with her approach to each of the 3 pups, because they all can be highly energetic. She was also on top of administering the oral prescription for one of my pups. We used the house sitting service. The pups loved having her around and getting cuddles in. Morever, Briana was a very courteous and considerate house guest. She would be a great option for anyone considering.”

About: I've been taking care of my friends and family's pets (as well as my own) since I was 15. I'm always the first person they call when they are going on vacation or if they simply won't be home for an extended period. Everyone knows I love animals, so it'll be easy for me to love your animals too! I'm currently a stay at home mom of 1 daughter (11 years old) and I'm looking for something fulfilling to keep me busy during the day. I have a fenced in back yard, 2 playful dogs that would give your fur baby some company, I am home 90% of the time, so they would never be lonely, I could bathe your pets upon request too!
“Abigail did a fantastic job watching our critters! She was great about sending pics of Oban and Mabel, and she kept our house looking nice and clean. We would definitely have her house sit again and recommend her!”

About: Summary: Hello, my name is Brennan Silliman. I am seeking a Dog / Cat sitter job opportunity near Greensboro or Athens, Georgia. I live in Barnett Shoals and Reynolds Plantation (when I’m home) so I prefer not to travelling too far from there, if necessary. Personally, I have grown up with dogs / cats for 27years of my life. I have in-depth animal experience as I currently intern with my local veterinarian and the veterinarians at UGA. To be honest, I’d like to think I’m overqualified to care for your pet compared to other Rover caretakers since I am a 4th year veterinary student at UGA and plan to pursue a lifelong field designated in caring and saving animal’s lives. My primary veterinarian is at Main Street Vet in Madison. As of now, I am somewhat flexible since I’m off clinics. Shoot me a message and I'll reply within a day or so. Thank you. (PS-my current rates do not reflect what I will overall charge. I’d prefer we discuss over the phone everything beforehand) *******It is important to note that the rates listed on my page are not what I actually charge. They are usually higher or lower depending on the number of animals, days, etc. I use rover as a way to reach clientele thus I do custom payment. Do not book through rover. However, message me through here.******* I have three loving dogs (all of them are terriers) at my home in Greensboro. I make sure the 10 month old is on a leash at all times since he still is learning the ropes around where we live. I would provide the same care with your pets and make sure they are nearby me at all times.
“We absolutely love Kaila! She is always warm, kind, and dependable, and Max is so excited to see her every time. We've used her twice for day trips and were so happy with the care she provided that we've already booked her for an extended long weekend. We highly recommend her!”

“10/10 recommend! Grace was fantastic taking care of our two German Shepherd dogs, Tank and Roxie, as well as our home! Communication was great, updates were super reassuring, and our dogs were treated like royalty. We came home to happy dogs and a perfectly kept house. Highly recommend Grace to anyone looking for a responsible and caring sitter!”

About: Hi! I have been pet sitting since a very young age. At 16 I brought home my first fur-baby, Mr. Marshmallow (Pug). While raising “Marsh”, I have also had fish, hamsters, ferrets and cats. Last year I laid my long time friend, Marsh, to rest after a year of catering to his special needs lifestyle. He was in a wheelchair for his final months, and had a unique diet. I currently have two Cats, Curry and Pearl! I absolutely love helping my family and friends with watching over their cats and dogs while they are out of town, or working long hours. I am very detail oriented, and enjoy following any instructions necessary for pet sitting your fur-friends. I understand the importance of a clean environment for our pets, and I am happy to keep litter boxes, water dishes, bedding, etc. clean. I am currently self-employed, and would be happy to fit my services around your specific needs! I am available throughout the day and evening 7 days a week :) When visiting a new client’s home, I always like to show the animals that I am a friend. I keep a positive tone and try to get on their level to show them we can be best friends! I love to send clients pictures and videos while watching their fur-babies. I am happy to follow any and all routines to keep their pet feeling comfortable and cozy!

About: Effective October 15, 2026: I am relocating and moving services to Milledgeville, Ga. I will reinstate my pickup/dropoff fees. Please review the profile in its entirety. I will host a few doggy play dates throughout the month. I am employed as a nurse PRN. With that being said, my schedule is as flexible and open as I intend for it to be. Potty and feeding times are considered when making my schedule for the day. Fur babies typically get let out Q4H. Dogs are not allowed free range. Pups are either let into fenced in backyard or dog park, or expand their horizons on an open field with 50 or 100-foot tethers to run around. Although their recall may be good with you, I want to ensure your babies come back to you the way you left them. I follow directions and your suggestions to the T. I take care of them the same way in which you'd take care of your babies.

“Kanija was very prompt in her reply and spot on with arrival time. My three dogs were very receptive to her and the attention she gave them. I would most definitely recommend her as a pet sitter and would use again if needed.”

“Brooke was so great with our dog Millie! Millie is shy but she warmed up to Brooke quickly. Brooke also sent me updates that were necessary while we were away. So glad we booked Brooke will be using her again in the future!”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I have worked with multiple dogs at the same time and understand the importance of patience, safety, exercise, feeding routines, and individual attention. I’m comfortable with large dogs, energetic dogs, senior dogs, and pets that may need extra patience while getting comfortable with a new person. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and treating each one with care and respect. My schedule is flexible, which gives me plenty of time to care for pets throughout the week. I can accommodate walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship at different times of the day. I’m also available on weekends and can adjust my schedule when needed. Safety and trust are very important to me. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, routines, medications, and house rules. I always keep pets supervised and pay attention to their behavior and comfort. In a client’s home, I respect their space and make sure their pet feels safe, relaxed, and cared for.
About: I have been around animals my whole life and I love them! I have a 4 year old kitty named Bunny and she is everything to me. My best friend has a mini Australian shepherd that is very friendly and I love being around him. I also have watched my brother and sister in law’s dogs for 2 years now. They ranged from having 4-8 dogs at different points and I would love to go stay with them, feed them, and get to play with their fluffy selves! I am working limited hours at this time, so I am available weekdays 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.- 9 p.m., and also weekends any time! I will monitor the animals needs and be there in any way I am needed. I will take them outside as much as directed, feed them, make sure they have water, and love on them!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Phoenix walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Phoenix maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Phoenix choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
