“Savannah was amazing, seriously. She made time for my pup on Mother’s Day so we could have a get away for a couple hours! If you’re looking for someone to take care of your fur babies, I would definitely book with her. Probably the plus 1 of the stay was the fenced in yard, so they are able to just run and potty freely without having to be leaded.”

“Jan was able to watch Maddie for doggie daycare on short notice. She has a great set up for yard access and also being able to hang out in the cool of the A/C on a comfy couch. It made my day with my family so much better knowing she was being looked after and had Jan’s company while being in a different environment. I would definitely recommend her and I would leave Maddie in her care again if I needed to.”

About: I have had a dog in my life since age 6. I have always had rescue dogs and as many as 8 on a large property. I have lost all 11 now and don't know if I can take the heartbreak again. To provide boarding or daycare options, my 'dog fix' will be fulfilled and serve your needs also. I have never met a dog that didn't like me, all dogs I have met engage with me quickly. I am a RN and have performed CPR on one of my dogs before bringing him back to life. I can give oral meds and have given injections to my dogs in the past. I walk daily and if your dog wants to join me, perfect! I work from home and an empty nester. I am home most afternoons and evenings and will adjust my schedule to be here with your fur kid without large gaps in time. I have a fenced backyard with a doggie door to the backyard if your dog knows how to use one. My neighbor is small with sidewalks for safety. I have a large and medium crate if your dog requires one no need to bring it. They can be on the couch or even sleep in the bed if that is what they are used to. I have a covered patio to protect from the weather elements so your dog can lay outside and enjoy fresh air. Water will be available outside also.
“Zoe and her husband were perfect for my dog Gus. I had a last-minute need for someone to watch him and they were very flexible with me. I know my dog enjoyed playing with their dogs too. Thank you guys so much!!”

“Joan is absolutely wonderful! It was puppy love at first sight. My dog spent three days with her. She sent pictures! My dog was very well loved, and well cared for. She takes him on walks during the day. She has a lovely home, which allows him to do his zoomies. My dog took to her instantly, and so did I. She’s a very loving and caring woman. I would highly recommend Joan for your pet sitting needs. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Mary was a wonderful caregiver for our dog! It was our first time using Rover and things couldn't have been better. Mary sent updates during the day, kept our pup entertained with walks, and gave him lots of TLC. We'd love to have Mary watch him again when we're in the Knoxville area.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Daniella was amazing. I dont think they could get any better than her. She kept us updated and took some amazing pictures of our dogs. Will definitely use again and recommend her.”

“Bennie had the best time at Sandra’s house! It was my first time using the app and I was little nervous but Sandra sent plenty of pictures and updates so it made feel better.”

“Caillynns place is perfect and she's taken great care of our dog. He loves it there. Big yard and plenty of space to run around, and a couple who takes great care of him. Highly recommend. Thank you!”

“You won't find a better family to care for your pups! I happened upon Nikki on this app and I feel like it was fate. Her husband, Mike, their kids and Nikki spent so much time and gave so much love to my Charlie. He is very needy and they were patient, found activities to keep him so happy and also gave him a new bestie. Nugget, their golden retriever, was instantly Charlie's pal. What a sweetheart! Charlie was in a rough spot with separation anxiety and acting very sad and exhausted. 3 days with this family perked him up and gave him new life! I am so thankful!”

“Meredith was excellent taking care on my Ruth. She definitely did the “extra” and made my life easier by being flexible with my sometimes hectic work schedule. She also provided regular updates throughout the day which made me feel very at ease. My dog Ruth loved her and we both felt very secure in Meredith’s hands. I can totally recommend her!”

“Victoria and Charles were fantastic. I was worried about my little Otis being anxious about being left as he has serious separation anxiety ( OK, we both do ! ) but as Victoria and I were chatting - Otis happily bouncing around exploring her and Charles' lovely lawn she teased him over for a pet and before I knew it he was in her arms - looking very happy I might add! I had a few things to transfer from my car to my sons - typically high stress time for me, trying to keep track of Otis - who won't get more than a step or two away, so I don't step on him. He just go cozier and cozier and sunk lower and lower into Victoria's arm. I guess I wasn't surprised to receive a photo by text, of him laying in her lap before it was even dark out. Pick up was easy - Victoria and Charles' garage door were open and it was lit like a beacon in the rainy night - just a quick report from Victoria ( he's fine ! ) as it was a long day and we were on our way. This is my first chance to reach out and its been three days - sorry guys! Do you need a sitter? Are Victoria and Charles available? Book them!! ( I'd even settle for just Charles : 0 : o : ) . Victoria and Charles are my first choice - looking forward to letting Otis trim their lawn again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 238 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Petros. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Petros commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 238 sitters in Petros, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
