“Rachel took such great care of my Loki and my apartment while I was gone. She was so wonderful with him and being able to inject him with the insulin daily. So thankful for her help!”

“Mary is wonderful! My pup was so happy to meet her and she handled him perfectly (he’s a bit of a tank and can knock you down if you’re not paying attention) Mary was perfectly comfortable with him and I left feeling assured my furry best friend was in good hands.”

About: Hi I'm April and I am ready to sit your pet. I have had pets all my life and my own dogs for more than 20 years. I have 4 pets -2 dogs and 2 cats - whom get along with each other and other dogs. My large yard is fenced in and is perfect for playing fetch. I care for my children's dogs when the come to town. Sometimes my house has 5 dogs with no issues at all. I work during the week but my weekends are usually spent playing with my pets. I can do pet sitting, boarding or just visiting. About: Hi! My (preferred) name is Daisy & I've been taking care of dogs ever since we adopted my very first canine best friend in 2011! Friends and family have trusted me to take care of their fur babies and I've been handling & working with dogs almost every day for almost two years as a doggy daycare attendant, kennel staff, special pup advisor, and group coordinator. I love taking them on walks and practicing sits, stays, downs, give paws, etc... I absolutely love all animals and promise to take care of your babies as if they were my own! I currently work part-time so I'll have plenty of time to check in on & spend with your pets! I'm available Saturdays before 12pm, Sundays all day, & most holidays before 3pm. Weekday hours vary and I will always be super transparent about my availability! Your pets' safety is important to me so please feel free to leave detailed instructions and I will follow them to a T. I will also keep consistent contact with you, providing (p)updates with photos! I can crate your dog(s) if needed as well. I'm also Red Cross animal first aid certified. I've handled several scuffles and am able to remain calm in any situation that may arise. Your pet will always be safe with me!
“Laura is great with Brody, and he is happy in all of the pictures that she sends me. Glad I found her, and would recommend her if you're looking for someone to visit your pup during the day.”

“Isabella came through for us last-minute and provided great care for our two pups daily for a busy weekend! Appreciated her great, ongoing communication and will definitely seek her help again in the future!”

About: I have had dogs and cats, and taken care of other small animals for my family for years. I understand the bond of families with their animals and respect that! I am retired from full time work, but do participate in volunteer activity. A part time role of caring for your pet as needed will best fit my schedule. Or providing in home care for your pet while you travel will work as well. I am happy to come and take care of your pets in your home, where they are comfortable in their own environment. I respect the pet owners preferences on how best to care for their beloved pet.
About: Hello, I’m Deanna! I have lived in the Buffalo area all my life & previously have had 2 dogs. I currently have a 3 year old dog at home. I have done 100+ services on another platform with a 4.98/5 rating. I am looking for some doggy’s to socialize with, provide them with activity & get some energy out! *Please note I am available for sitting but unable to sleep at the house due to childcare* I work remotely and am available during day for pets that need often check-ins. If your dog cannot be left alone for 4+ hours, I am your girl! I will follow instructions left by owner and check in with the owner if questions arise; everyone has their own routine and I want pet & parent as comfortable as possible.

About: I've always had a passion for animals since I was very little. I was never able to have them of my own growing up because my dad was highly allergic. Once I graduated high school I moved out and rescued my first dog from a backyard breeder. He was a Pit-bull mix. 4 months later I rescued my golden saint from a hoarding situation which ended up in all of her animals getting taken away. I realized I wanted to help save more animals so I ended up becoming a foster mom. My first foster was a 7 year old Rottweiler named Sabrina. I only had her a short 3 months before I was told she had a stomach tumor that was not curable. I unfortunately made the decision to get her cremated and the last words I said to her was " I promise I will save as many animals like you as I possibly can." I kept that promise to her after 8 years already and plan to for many many more! Fast forward to today, i suddenly lost my soul dog in January 2026 but still have my golden saint and a Catahoula Leopard dog. He was my first foster fail 6 years ago. I wanted to extend my experience even more so now I pet sit/dog walk as well! I am experienced with senior dogs, puppies, aggressive dogs as well as dogs with high anxiety I have taken care of all sorts of animals such as hamsters, Guinea pigs, birds, snakes, miniature pigs, and of course cats and dogs! I treat every animal like my own and I guarantee I will become their best friend! My goal is to eventually own a building and name it in Sabrina's memory:) I am available for in home stays in your own home, overnights, drop ins, and dog walks on week days and weekends. If you see a date that is marked unavailable please still reach out to me as I might have some spots open or a last minute cancellation for those days. It is first come first serve so book while the dates are still available! In home/overnights- This includes play time, bathroom breaks, food and water replenishment, medication administration, baths if needed, walks, picture/video updates, and lots of snuggles! Drop ins- This includes food and water replenishment, bathroom breaks and a little bit of play time! Dog walking- I offer 1/2 hour walks and 1 hour walks

About: Luckily since I have grown up in a family who loved pets I have been around all sorts of animals since I was young. Currently I have taken care of many dogs and cats. From helping with the care of elder pets to training for younger ones I have experience that will make you and most importantly your pet comfortable and feel at home. Currently my schedule is mostly open on most days. I work from home so this allows me to be able to keep an eye on pets too. I provide attentive and personalized pet care in my clients' homes and on walks, ensuring each pet feels comfortable and well-cared for in their familiar environment. Whether it’s following their routine, providing playtime, administering medication, or giving extra affection, I tailor my care to their specific needs. On walks, I make sure pets get the right balance of exercise, exploration, and training reinforcement. I also take my own dog to the local dog park regularly, so I’m experienced in managing social interactions and creating safe, enjoyable experiences for dogs of all energy levels.
About: While moving around and apartment living has not allowed me to have pets currently, I have years of experience with animals in general, specifically dogs. I live in WNY now but grew up in rural PA on a mini farm with lots of animals doggies included. We mainly owned Belgian Sheepdogs and I trained/showed in the 4H program through my teens. Life changes took me away from continuing in that lifestyle and unfortunately from owning pets at all. However, I've been jonesing for some dog time and also an extra side hustle is always helpful! I've dealt with dogs with from all ages and anything I'm not familiar with I'm always open to learn and implement what works best for your situation. I would love to meet you and help out with your fur babies as needed! 😊 I am trying to get into pet sitting as a side hustle but I have a flexible schedule right now so I'm pretty open! I don't have a home that accommodates keeping pets in but can travel to you! I can only do in client home care but will care for your pet(s) to your preferences! I am not offering overnight stays at this current time but can do drop ins or stay for a duration of time.
About: I never had the pleasure of owning a dog of my own growing up, so I always had a greater appreciation for the moments I got to enjoy being in the company of a friendly dog. I have always loved animals in general and dogs especially. Your dog will be in great, caring hands with me. I will be sure to treat all animals with as much care and utmost respect they are used to and deserve. Over the past year I have walked many dogs through other dog walking apps and have enjoyed the time I got to spend with them. I plan to continue my excellent care for any animal I have the pleasure of walking or sitting through this app as well. I am available most evenings starting at 4, I can be available earlier on Thursdays. I can be flexible for walks on my lunch breaks. I pride myself on being trustworthy and reliable. You can rest assured that your dog is in good hands and will be well taken care of.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
