“Kate was wonderful and Mr. Peanut settled in quite quickly with her AND her two own dogs. Peanut is very picky at who he likes and doesn't like. But he got along with the pack and as a doggie mom, that made me feel good. I will definitely use Kate again. As far as the Rover website, there looks to be some logistical issues. On my screen, it told me Kate was 82miles away, but a 30min drive. Please get that fixed. Rover for me was hard to use. I like simple. But Rover has all these twists and turns. For example, I was not allowed to just message sitters. I was forced to pick dates. I had been looking for a new babysitter for Mr. Peanut since we just moved, but Rover made me wait til I needed someone asap, which made my experience stressful. Not good. We should be able to meet and talk to these folks before we book. After all, we are parents, and we all should be allowed to interview these sitters much like we would if they were our human children. Thankfully Kate worked out. But it could have gone a lot smoother. Thanks Kate (and daughter!)”

“This is the first time we boarded our golden doodle, Saylor. He loved staying at Daniela‘s for the weekend, and playing with her dogs! She was so kind to send us pictures the entire time away, and made us feel so comfortable that he was doing well. It was great having that communication all weekend! Thank you so much, Daniela! I’m sure you will see Saylor again!”

“Sylvia was great with Tazzy. She was very thorough on our initial meet and great, and had her notes ready when we brought Tazzy for her weekend getaway. We felt very comfortable leaving her in good hands.”

“Anmei was amazing with Lucas! She sent lots of pictures and videos, and he looked so happy the whole time. This was our first time being separated, and Anmei made it so easy and comforting. We’ll definitely be using her from now on. We highly recommend!!”

“Daniel and his wife did an exceptional job with my dog Bandit. I was so nervous, Bandit is 8.5 years old and had never been with anyone alone. He did phenomenal with him giving me updates and texts with photos. Made me feel at ease. I had just recently moved to the area and knew nobody had to be an away for a long weekend which required a need for Bandit to be in care. This was just what I was looking for. Very conveniently located also. Would recommend and plan to book again in the future.”

“I can't recommend Kelly enough for dog boarding! My pup, Bailey, absolutely loves staying at her place. The big, fenced-in yard is a doggy paradise, and he has a blast running around and playing with Charlie, Kelly's dog. It's such a relief to know that Bailey is having a great time while I’m away! Kelly’s communication skills are fantastic. She keeps me updated throughout Bailey’s stay, sharing pictures and messages that always brighten my day. It’s so comforting to know my furry friend is in such caring hands. If you’re looking for a loving and fun environment for your dog, look no further than Kelly! Bailey can’t wait for his next visit! 🐾❤️”

“Jill watched Boz for us for an entire week while we were on vacation. She was responsive, communicative, and caring. She sent pictures every day which put my nervous mind at ease. She even accommodated our request when we added on an extra two days! This was our first experience with boarding, and we would 100% use Jill again”

“Nittany had a great time. He must have been a busy pup because all he did on sunday was sleep. Jacqueline also sent me a picture of Nittany each day of the fun he was having. Thank you again!”

“Samantha was wonderful. Highly responsive easy to work and provided our little man with the perfect first experience away from Home. Woke up every morning with pictures and updates while we were away and never once worried about anything. Highly recommend! Thank you again, Sam!”

“Jessica was great. She responded very quickly on very short notice. Felt very good dropping Leif off and Leif looked great picking him up. I would use this boarder again in the future.”

“Wonderful experience. We were able to leave our Corgi Fiona with Michele, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Fiona was so entertained by Michele’s guests, that she overstayed her customary bedtime for an hour, to play with the children. We feel so fortunate to have Michele’s love and care for our dear Fiona.”

“This was first time I left my pup with a Rover sitter; my experience could not have been better. Denise and her beautiful family took great care of her and sent me updates and photos to reassure me that all was well. I swear GracieBell was smiling in everyone!”

“Marcus was a lifesaver, he saved my vacation! Last minute booking when my original pet sitter was snowed in with zero power or water. My girl was so happy when I picked her up. Marcus was good about sending pics the entire 7 days. Thanks Marcus for taking care of Ms. Rita! Oh and an added bonus is Marcus’s location is only 15 minutes from the airport!”

“Couldn’t have asked for a better experience boarding my dog pea. I really appreciated the updates and the quick responses and pea seemed to be very comfortable while she stayed with them”

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
