“Thank you guys so much. I appreciate all that you do for my fur babies while we are out of town or away. This couple is amazing with our dogs. I wouldn’t trust anyone else.”

“Loved all the pictures of Bernie! Bernie was acting a bit weird right before we left. Jessica kept an eye on Bernie and reported on how he was doing (he was fine!). We appreciate the easy pick up and drop off and smooth communication. This is our 2nd time having Jessica and John watch Bernie and we would absolutely have them watch Bernie again. Thank you!”

“Melissa was so patient with Cooper. He was so scared and sad that we “left” him and gave Melissa a hard time the first day. She won him over the 2nd day and I was so relieved. We were thinking of coming home early, but she was so patient and kind Cooper was fine the rest of the time letting us enjoy Thanksgiving and our granddaughter’s first birthday party on Saturday. Thank you so much Melissa for taking good care of Cooper and Sandy too.”

“In home style Kennel. Our three mid-sized Eurasiers can be very reserved with new people, but they got on with Gabby right from the start, and were as busy loving on her as we left as they left as they were with me. Two of our dogs need special diets and medications, and that was handled as part of the bid contract- no extra fees. We even got pictures and reports emailed to us on the road! The dogs returned without a kennel smell: something I've never experienced before. I highly recommend Gabby as a kennelmaster.”

“Katelyn was super sweet and so was her family. They kept our Golden and took great care of her, lovin on her like she was one of the family. She also took our pup on last minute and was so communicative and easy to work with. I Will definitely book again with Katelyn!”

“Alecia and Terry were super awesome! They took wonderful care of our two fur babies, they sent daily updates and photos, which made my day! My two are on special diet which require a little more prep, Alecia did great with providing my two with what they needed, and in giving extra attention too! We will defy look to book with Alecia and Terry again in the future!”

“This was our first time leaving our boy and I couldn't have asked for a better person to leave him with! Carol sent texts and photos while we were gone but more importantly she cared for and loved our boy as we would. Thank you Carol for a great experience! We'll see you again!!”

“Becky took excellent care of our two dogs, sent pictures daily and was great about communication during for the drop off and pick up. It was a great relief to know that our dogs were in good hands and clearly were well-loved during our time away. We would definitely book Becky again in the future.”

“Beth is amazing!!!!!! She dogsat for TWELVE DAYS for me and gave me so many pictures and videos of my sweet boy to make me feel at ease. He loved being at her house and didn’t want to leave! A truly amazing pet sitter, everyone should want to go to Beth with their dogs. I will definitely be using her in the future and passing recommendations to everyone I know!”

“Heather is AMAZING! She took care of our dog for over a week and sent multiple videos and pictures of her. We could tell that our dog was loved and taken care of while we were away! We will 1000% use her again in the future!”

“Ann was wonderful! Very responsive and attentive to our pups. With their veterinary backgrounds, we felt so at ease knowing they were in good hands. The best part was they allowed the pups on their furniture which is what they’re used to, it was a touch we sure appreciated. Thank you so much for all the love you provided our pups!”

“She was SO amazing with Murphy. He is a very very high energy dog and she took him out on an adventure everyday! When we got him back he went right to bed and hasn’t gotten up since! She sent lots of pictures and videos. We felt like he was in such good hands with them, will 10/10 use again!!”

“Amy was incredible and took such good care of Tito while we were gone. She sent us numerous updates and pictures. Tito was the happiest boy all weekend and we could tell that he was cared for like he was her own. Can’t recommend Amy enough!”

“Kimberly is awesome! Marco had a blast and she was very communicative with daily updates and images. I loved seeing pics of him with their other dog, made all of our hearts smile. She also sent us home with a cute paw print and Polaroid of our pup. So sweet. We will definitely use her support again.”

About: I am in love with playing and caring for my dog, Rookie. Rookie is a 2 year old German Shepherd. We spend every weekend with them playing and going to the dog park. I work full time in Law Enforcement, and Occasionally I do travel but I plan months in advance for that. When I’m at work I have 12 hour shifts so my weekends are long. I own my own home, and the back yard is fenced. We are close to the Nampa dog park. I have a crate if that is what you are wanting. Rookie is my German Shepherd who loves to play all day. She is spayed. Our house has a quarter acre backyard.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Parma home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Parma.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Parma sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
