I understand animals need love and affection from their caretakers but they also need structure in their life, and it is our job as their caretakers to give them that! I have experience with animals of all shapes and sizes from a litter of kittens, to a 200 lb English Mastiff! I work from 7:30 to 2:30 on weekdays (I'm off in the summer months) so I wouldn’t be able to do midday drop ins those days. I like to keep your animals’ daily life as consistent as possible. I try to structure their day so it is consistent with their routines at home, such as walks, medications, meal times, etc. I work 7:30-2:30 on weekdays during the school year, but otherwise I can fit other things around that. I usually feed around 6:30am and anytime in the afternoon. We have a fenced in yard and we go on regular walks, especially at the nature reserve near our place. We have toys, treats, food & water bowls, crates for smaller dogs, dog beds, leashes, etc in case the dog comes over last minute, but we always encourage owners to bring anything that they like with their animals.

She didn’t just stop in to feed them and scoop litter — she took real time to pet them, play with them, and give them attention, which made such a difference. She also sent pictures every day, which I really appreciated and found incredibly reassuring. Both cats clearly loved her, and that gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She also went above and beyond with the practical things, including changing the bag in the Litter Champ multiple times without being asked. That level of care and thoughtfulness really stood out.
