“Lane and his family treated our dogs just like a part of their family. We felt so comfortable knowing they were being well taken care of and having fun running and playing with the resident dogs Shay, Oakley and Duke! The fenced yard is perfect. I really loved and appreciated getting pics and updates while we were on our trip. We definitely will book with Lane and have some dates already booked! We also love that the dogs always have someone with them unless they need to run to the store etc.”

“Heather was great! She was flexible with timing of drop off and pickup, which I really appreciated. She was super positive about my pups stay, which was great to hear at pick-up! Would definitely recommend her to anyone in the Boone area!!”

“Great person and great place for my old buddy to hang out for the week. Immediately felt safe when dropping Iko off, and picked up a very happy (and tired!) dog a week later. He seemed like he had a lot of fun and his separation anxiety seemed totally nonexistent, which has not always been the case with other sitters. Will hire Gracie again in a heartbeat, and strongly recommend to others!”

“Camilla was a 10/10 pet sitter. We had a great experience and hope to rebook next time we are in the area. She was quick to respond, great with communicating, and seems to be a genuinely nice and caring person. She also has a nice sized yard that is all fenced in which was great for our dogs and I felt great about leaving them with her for the night. Everything couldn’t have gone better and we defintiely would recommend her to anyone.”

“It was our first time using a boarder and we were apprehensive about it. Ken and his dogs were wonderful with our Shih Tzu! They made her feel right at home. Ken is a super person and is a natural with pets. He kept us updated with messages and pictures. Our dog had a great time! We will definitely entrust our precious dog with him again !”

“Great guy awesome communication took my cat for the weekend while I was traveling thru so I could go hit some excursions, he sent me updates and pictures of him keeping my cat active and played with. 1000x better than any boarding place I’ve ever taken him to. so glad to have found James.”

“Chestnut was awesome- we felt completely comfortable leaving our 15 year old cocker with her. It was obvious. To me that she loved dogs and mine would get amazing care & love. She sent daily updates & pictures which my entire family loved seeing. She communicated before, during and after my dogs stay. We had never used Rover before but would most definitely use Chestnut again should the opportunity arise. It was a good feeling and comfort to know our dog was in good hands.”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have cared for four dogs of different ages, breeds, and sizes. I currently have an 8-year-old mutt named Tucker who is incredibly sweet. Tucker previously went through heartworm treatment, so I have experience following medication schedules and giving medication as directed. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playing, basic grooming, and giving pets plenty of attention. I’ve also owned and cared for parrots, iguanas, lizards, hamsters, and many other animals. I genuinely love animals and will treat every pet like one of my own. I’m currently in college and only have about three hours of class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of free time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m available throughout most of the week for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and spending quality time with your pets. My apartment is very pet-friendly and comfortable, with plenty of places for dogs to relax. I even have a couch specifically for dogs, along with a dog bed and other cozy spots throughout the apartment. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and at home while they’re with me, and I’m happy to follow any routines or special instructions you provide.
“Amanda was wonderful. She was so easy and flexible with our meet and greet. Sent pictures and updates on McKenzie. We were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing McKenzie was happy playing with her dog and snuggling with her boys. You know your dog was happy when she wasn’t in any hurry to get in the car to go home. I will absolutely use Amanda again!”

“Katy took wonderful care of our two pups. They are full of energy! She helped get them settled and was a good communicator with us. We will definitely use her again! Highly recommend!”

“We are so happy we found Fran! Fran was wonderful with our pup Lupine. She took her walking, on play dates, and let her snuggle with her. Staying with Fran was like a puppy vacation for our girl. I highly recommend Fran!”

“Kelley was great! She was very responsive in communicating with me, sent me numerous updates and pictures throughout the day. My dog was very well taken care of. Kelley has a great backyard with a high secure fence. She introduced her pups to Chance and they all had a blast. I highly recommend Kelley, could not have asked for more.”

“Ashlyn P took our male Cat into her clean and pet friendly home. She took such good care of him over the week he was with her. She was great communicating with us via text. She sent us photos of Big Guy and we could tell by his look, he was enjoying his vacation. We were out of state in NY during the terrible Nor'easter Storm and had to delay our return drive twice. Ashlyn had no problem with keeping our Big Guy the extra 2 days we were delayed in our return. I highly recommend her for Pet Sitting in the Tri Cities area. There are none better.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Parker home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Parker.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Parker sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
