“Megan was quick to respond to my initial reaching out, and was professional! She was amazing with my cat, and gave a great update! I couldn’t have asked for anything more for a drop in visit! 🥰”

“Ashleigh is so great with animals and and we felt very confident leaving our kitty in her care. She is very detail oriented and patient even taking the time to get to know Perci and play with her. So happy to have found her! We will definitely have her back!”

“Tera did a great job taking care of our Zeus during our trip away. Our old guy is advanced in years and he needs a lil special extra attention due to his lungs and medication. I feel that Tera provided what he needed. She was very responsive on the app while we were away - came on-time and everything was in order upon our return. I highly recommend her and would definitely use her again.”

About: As a stay at home mother I know how important our babies are to us and promise to treat your pets like I would your children. I have never taken care of others pets but I have lots of experience taking care of my own. My family has an 11 year old hound. I have an obligation to pick up my children from school on the weekdays and stay with them until my husband gets off, that means no walks from 3pm-5:30pm please. I have a fenced in back yard and a spare room in my home that is designated as a pet room, pack your baby their favorite toys and blanket and they’ll feel right at home!
About: As a devoted animal lover with extensive experience caring for a variety of pets, I am dedicated to ensuring that your furry, feathered, or scaly family members receive the best possible care. I have cared for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, small mammals, and reptiles. My experience includes pet sitting, volunteering at local shelters, and providing specialized care for animals with unique needs. I understand that each pet has its own personality and requirements, and I’m committed to tailoring my care to suit their specific needs. Whether your pet needs regular walks, playtime, feeding, or medication, I am well-equipped to handle it all. I am also experienced in creating a safe and comfortable environment, ensuring that your pet feels loved and secure while you’re away. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing that your pet is in compassionate and capable hands. I look forward to meeting your beloved companion and providing them with the exceptional care they deserve! I am free to check on your fur babies anytime you need! I have open availability to make any type of schedule work for the next couple months. I have a friendly dog and 2 cats in my home. We go on frequent walks as my dog is very high energy. We go to the dog park occasionally and are always playing fetch.
“Mikayla was amazing with our dogs!! She was so good with all of them and we have some very demanding fur babies. I will recommend her to anyone and everyone I know that has pets that need looking after for a few days. ☺️”

About: I've always loved animals. When someone in my family, one of my friends or even friends of the family or friends of friends needed their cat or dog taking care of I would be the 1 that they called. They knew that I loved them. Even though they weren't mine. I am currently working part-time in the afternoons and evenings. So I have plenty of time to play, walk, and give your pet the care and attention they need, while you are away. Have a fence yard, can have them on a leash, or crate. I'm willing and able to adapt for special circumstances, if needed. Preferred: In the client's home, where the fur baby is more comfortable.
“He was amazing with my two dogs. He got their daily exercise in no matter the weather. Very communicative and sent pics daily. He loved them as if they were his own. Couldn't ask for a better person to look after them!”

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
