“Tawnia is great! She’s so patient with my pups, esp since one likes to pull and the other has been defensive of our home. But Tawnia does so well with both pups and we love having her for walks!”

“Candace is great to work with. I reached out for dog walking my two rescues. They have some quirks and she manages them well. I’m happy she’s available when I need her. I will use her service again.”

About: For the past 12 years I've worked as a full time dog walker and pet sitter. Before that I worked as a Vet Assistant for which I went to school for. I was trained on handling pets in stressful situations, prepping and assisting in surgeries, administering medications and injections. I'm available for dog walking and pet sitting Monday through Sunday. I have very open availability and can work with the owners to figure out a schedule that works best for them. I service all of Albuquerque. I do not provide services for Placitas, East Mountains or Rio Rancho, I can provide pet sitting in my home. I can do pet sitting in your home and can go by as often as needed for as long as needed. I do not take my clients dogs to dog parks. I also never allow them off leash nor do I use retractable leashes. I can provide my own leash if necessary.

“My dog gets better with every walk with Robert. And so do I, I learn a lot from the notes he leaves. Always reliable always on time and always I come home to a happy tired dog!”

About: I've been a pet caretaker for most of my 45 years, but I only put 25 in the years experience because those adult years of my life have been most dedicated to pet care. I am a serial adopter of rescue animals, so I'm well versed in pet conditions that need special care. I don't crate our animals and I love them all unconditionally. If you have a pet that needs special attention or even a modicum of training, I'd be happy to help you take care of them. I'm a military veteran and author working from home. I spend my entire day spoiling my pets (I have both cats and dogs, and they get along well enough). I walk the dogs daily, sometimes more than once. The dogs get brushed regularly and the cats get brushed if they make an appearance or we can catch them. As mentioned earlier, I do not crate our pets. I prefer to let them roam, but I occasionally do block off certain areas of the house to prevent naughty behavior. The pets are always rewarded for good behavior with snacks.

“Brooke is the absolute best! She is consistent, punctual, an excellent communicator, and our dog goes nuts when he sees her. I’ve utilized several dog walkers/sitters through Rover in the past but none are as dependable as Brooke.”

“Delena is great with Koda and Colson. They had an instant connection. She puts on their leash and is off on their walk. They already know that she is there to take them out. Will continue to work with her.”

“Tabitha has truly been a life saver. She is quick to respond and she always has a great positive attitude. Whenever something comes up, she is always willing to help and my dog LOVES her!!”

“Awesome first meeting. My dog, Dobby is reactive when meeting people for the first and even second time. Erich did a great job avoiding eye contact and interactions with Dobby until later. By the end of our meeting, he was able to walk and pet my normally super reactive dog.”

About: I am an animal-crazy adult Vet Tech student who's been inspired by my 10-year journey with a traumatized, reactive rescue pup who recently passed. I grew up with dogs and cats and rabbits, and adopted a rescued cat while in college who was with me for 13 years, but it was my experience with a traumatized rescue-pup later in life that led me to recently return to school to become a Vet Tech. I initially worked with two private trainers and began studying trauma response in dogs and cats, practicing skills to reduce fear and build trust with special needs pets. I am a registered volunteer with the city and have several repeat/current clients. I make a point of getting to know the personality of each individual in my care, and adapt my energy and/or activities to get as close to their level and needs as possible. I provide care in the comfort of your pet's own home and am available for any activities your pet enjoys. We can walk around your neighborhood, play with enrichment toys, go for a car ride, you name it! I am also happy to just sit with your pet in the same space. My goal is to keep things as close to your pet's normal as possible when they are in my care. When I care for pets in their home and neighborhood, I stay as close to their normal as possible and keep a regular routine they can rely on and trust. I am a guest caretaker in their safe space and always work to respect and honor it as such.

About: I have always had dogs in my life! I’ve taken care of large dogs of various breeds as well as small pups. I enjoy the different personalities that each dog has and would love to take care of yours! We have a 4 year old Lab that would love to have another dog to play with and keep her company! I am working from home and available everyday unless out of town, my schedule is very flexible! We would love to host your fur baby as one of our own! We have a fenced in back yard and turf for the dogs to run and play! Our pups are pretty spoiled and have free roam of the house. We allow them to sleep in the bed but also have many dog beds throughout the house and will follow whatever routine or rules you set to continue your pups routine.

“Coda absolutely adores Jennifer. I saw it first hand when I was home due to an illness and she came to walk Coda when I am usually in class. It was heartwarming to see.”

About: My dogs, Tuffy and Jefe, just recently passed due to the sickness of old age. I got them about 16 years ago when I was just a little girl. I took care of them like they were family, cause they were! I trained the dogs many skills; Sit, Stay, Walk, Guard, Talk, you name it. They lost those skills as they grew into elderly animals. Tuffy, had a stroke and his back legs were paralyzed for the last 4 years of his life. I helped him learn how to stand and walk all on his own again. Jefe simply fell a victim to typical elderly animal symptoms. Blindness, Deafness, inability to control their bladders, inability to smell. He grew very timid and was refusing to eat. I helped him how to relearn his balance and learn the vibration in the floors, I helped him relearn to eat. I want to help you with your fur baby, young or elderly! All ages are just as precious as the rest. I'm currently in school part time which leaves me plenty of time to take care of your fur babies! I'm also very active and love taking dogs on walks. I do not offer onboarding services at this time. Any mess made in your home will be cleaned on the spot. I am very respectful of others' spaces.

“Natalie is super reliable and always treats my fur babies well. She is very punctual and has excellent communication when booking services. I have rebooked with her multiple times!”

About: I have never NOT had pets of my own because a house feels empty without them. I love all sorts of critters and have pet sit for everything from birds to fish to pigs. I have a very flexible schedule and a large, fenced backyard. I mostly work from home but I do leave for site visits occasionally through the week, typically for a couple of hours. I also walk at least an hour a day so I'd love to take your doggy with me if they enjoy walks. I take my lead from the client on what type of care each pet needs. If appropriate, pets can have access to my fenced in yard. I can also take pets for walks. If your pup likes the park, I can easily make that happen! I do have one very social and sweet small dog of my own who loves making new friends.

Oso Grande dog parents share their Rover experiences
We couldn’t be happier with Olivia! She is reliable, warm, and clearly experienced with animals. From the moment she met our two dogs, they took to her instantly—which says a lot, because one of them can be a little particular. It’s such a relief to know our dogs are in good hands.
