“Marissa was perfect for our pets. The pets were so happy and I loved getting pics of our cats and dog everyday and text messages to let us know how everything was going. Then we didnt stress and really was able to enjoy our vacation. My one grumpy cat did feel comfortable enough that he came out from under the bed and let her brush him. That is an award for Marissa in itself. He rarely will come out to "strangers". So the pets have made Marissa one of the family.”

About: I have grown up taking care of many different breeds and ages over the past 19 years from puppies to seniors up to 16. I'm experienced with house training, obedience training, and medication administration (including insulin shots for diabetic dogs). I've had the privilege of pet sitting for many friends, family and neighbors, which has included potty breaks, baths, walks, feeding, and some grooming. All pets I look after always receive lots of attention and lots of lovins, as I treat other's pets I am looking after like they're my own. :) I am in between jobs at the moment, so I have a lot of free time on my hands that I would love to spend taking care of fur babies! -If boarded at my home, I live in a townhouse that is pet friendly and includes surrounding yard areas. I share it with my adopted 6 year old fur baby, Ellie, that is a red lab mix. She is caught up on all vaccines, spayed and sees the vet regularly. Ellie is an absolute sweetheart to all dogs and people she is around. If you or your pet prefer to not be around another animal, I can always crate my pet or keep her in a separate room if needed.😊 -If pet sitting at owner's home, I would be very respectful and follow any and all directions the best I can. If preferred, I can send updates with pictures of your fur baby/babies and how they're doing as much as you'd like.

About: Hi, I’m Brad — a lifelong animal lover with decades of dog ownership and experience caring for dogs, but I love pets of all kinds (well, except spiders and snakes...). As a dependable professional in my 50s, I bring calm, trustworthy, and attentive care (and lots of snuggles, if they are up for it) to every animal I work with. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, and I’m committed to clear communication, reliability, and respecting your home and routines. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, or steady companionship, I’m here to help. I’d love to care for your four-legged family member! I am a realtor with a very flexible schedule, and I would like to invest some of my non-realtor time to caring for your four-legged friends! All I require is dependable wifi, and I can conduct almost all of my "office" work remotely. I will show up for drop-ins and house sitting fully prepared to care for your pets, and provide the care they need. Feeding, walking, playing, and "scooping", as needed, are all part of my repertoire.

About: My entire life, I’ve had family dogs, and I’ve shared part of the responsibility for them with my entire family. At sixteen, I began pet-sitting for family friends and coworkers of my parents. I had a dog who had diabetes, so we would frequently have to give her insulin shots. So, I am not opposed to giving dogs medicine and shots, so long as they are friendly and are already used to their medicine! I have classes 12:30-4:00 on weekdays, and that’s about it! I may have sorority events on weekends, but they never last more than four hours! I believe every dog has different needs and lifestyles. I make sure that not only are their physiological needs are met, but also that I make an effort to keep dogs properly stimulated and loved

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 11 years old. I have bathed, fed, walked, and played with dogs and cats alike. I love it a lot and animals just bring me joy. I currently work part time at another job so I’ll have time to help take care of your pets throughout the week and keep them company. I am able to move around a bunch to play with your pet! I can also cuddle and relax with them if that’s more their speed. I understand every pet is different and I can work with them however they need! I’ll also make sure to stay communicative, letting you know what’s going on and sending pictures of your fur baby’s.

About: I have taken care of my family’s pets and family friends pets since I was 15. I take them outside, feed them, play with them, and help bathe them. My grandma usually needs help taking her dogs out, give the dogs their medication, and bathe them. I also watch our family friends dog, billy when they are away. I have a large yard, i keep the dogs leashed when I walk outside with them. When I go to family friends houses they have an invisible fence to kelp their dogs in their yard.

Ang is fantastic! She was very attentive to Jax while sitting with him and has super reasonable rates. She was also very good with communication so we felt comfortable through the whole process. (Some are so quiet after you book, you wonder if they will show up). I highly recommend working with her if you need to trust someone with your fur babies.

Emma was absolutely amazing with Luka while we were away. She gave us daily pictures and updates which gave us so much peace of mind the entire trip. Our house was left exactly the way we left it, and it was obvious she truly cared about Luka and not just “checking in.” What meant the most was how she went the extra mile when Luka started having some anxiety with us being gone. Emma was patient, attentive, and made sure Luka felt comfortable and cared for. You can tell she genuinely loves animals. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable and compassionate to care for their pets.

We had a last-minute dog sitter cancellation the literal evening before a weekend trip and were scrambling to find someone. Faith truly came through for us. She was responsive, easy to communicate with, and very flexible on short notice. She took great care of Remi and kept us updated with the cutest pictures throughout the weekend, which gave us real peace of mind. This was our first time booking with Faith, and it definitely won’t be the last. Thank you so much, Faith! Good luck with finals!

We have had Bessie watch our dog, Margo, several times and she has always done a phenomenal job. Bessie always takes care of Margo's fundamentals, and also make sure she has a great time with walks and play time. I think Margo seems genuinely happy when Bessie watches her. Sometimes, when using Rover, you know you come home and there's like a feeling that your dog was stressed. We have never had that feeling with Bessie. Always come home to a very happy dog!

FAQs for House Sitting - Osage

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of House Sitting in Osage is $42 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $42 and $42 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 143 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Osage. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Osage walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Osage maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Osage choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Osage. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
