My young shepherd had a great time with Kate. She got long walks and lots of attention and a nice family atmosphere. Kate was really good at sending updates and photos every day and I had no worries while I was out of town.

Jen is amazing! She really seems to have a way with dogs. She was watching another dog at the same time and knew exactly how to introduce the two. Milo went on lots of walks with Jen and his new furry friend & we received regular updates and pics. So happy we found you, Jen! Thank you

We couldn't have asked for a more attentive, kind and compassionate dog sitter. We've never left our 4 year yorkie mix with a stranger before so we were a bit concerned as we had to make a quick arrangement due to a family emergency. Joe sent us numerous pictures, texts, videos and responded to all our check ins within minutes. Joe accommodated our dog and did his best to make him feel comfortalbe as he was a bit nervous and not eating as well as usual. Our dog looked peaceful and content waiting to return home to his family. Joe was good enough to send us a video of our dog eating so we knew he was getting nourished. When he came home our dog was in great shape and we could tell he was so very well cared for and loved. We give Joe our highest recommendation!

We only had to leave our doggo with Jessica for one night but we will certainly take him back to her if we are in the area again. Even though it was just one night, Jessica was great at providing updates and photos. She even took the best photo my wife and I have seen of our dog! He looked very happy while she was taking him on a walk. Very friendly dog sitter and you can tell she really enjoys animals. Definitely recommend.

Bailey sent regular updates and photos so we knew Sam was happy and not missing us too much. We are so grateful to have such a great place to leave him when we travel!

Amazing, wonderful person. So patient and clearly feels for the well-being of animals. Our dog was very well cared for. We happened to be visiting Maine from Massachusetts and needed help at the very last minute for our whippet Cannoli and are so lucky to have found Nieves. Her place is tucked in the woods enough to have a peaceful vibe and I can't say enough nice things about Nieves. She was awesome about keeping in touch and letting us know how everything was going. She was really proactive which we loved. If either of us were closer to the other we'd be thrilled to see Nieves more often!!!

Thank you Danielle!! Spice and Coco have indicated that they had a great time. We are so thankful to have found you! It made our trip so much easier to go worry free. The girls seemed very relaxed and every picture you sent over our trip, showed how happy they were. Your attitude during the entire stay they had, was over the top. When our return flight was canceled, and it added an extra day to our trip, you again made us feel at ease. Can't thank you enough, and would use you again on our return next summer. We contacted Karen about watching our dogs we while we went whale watching. She was very easy to work with and very accommodating. She had our dog from 1 pm until 8 pm. We met at a halfway point for drop off and she returned the dog to us at the port in downtown Bar Harbor. She could not have been more accommodating aa our boat was a little bit late getting back into port. She is very nice and seems to genuinely care about the animals she watches. She sent me pictures throughout the day and text message updates. I would definitely recommend Karen and I would use her again. You do not need to have any worries about leaving your pet in her care. Thank you Karen.

We couldn’t have been happier boarding with Charlotte while we were visiting Acadia! She’s a lovely person and gave our lab, Mabel, exactly the home away from home experience we hoped for (and arguably even more fun!) We didn’t have a moment’s worry knowing that Mabel was in the best of hands. We will definitely be back!

We are so happy that we found Kate B. Kate’s house is so inviting and perfect environment for our dogs. Kate is very pet oriented and was right in tune with our two pups. We hope to bring them back to Kate B’s for another sleepover. 😊

Booking with Kate was great! We were lucky to fit in their schedule and I think our dog had a better vacation than we did! Kate sent morning and evening updates with pictures so we wouldn’t miss the pup too much. I was also very pleased with how open Kate was about her schedule and what our pup would likely experience on a day-to-day basis. Their home was clean and well pet proofed. I really appreciated how flexible Kate was with the initial meet and greet and I could tell right away that it would be a good fit. Definitely a great option for anyone in the Bangor-Old Town area.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 54 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Orono. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Orono home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Orono.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Orono sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
