“Laurel did an excellent job watching our critters. She is so attentive and communicative. When we returned, everyone was happy, healthy, and seemed like they had a fun weekend! Can’t tell you how much it means to be able to go away without worrying about the fur babies at home. 💕🐾”

“My pups took to Samantha immediately upon meeting her! Given that one of them can be real standoffish with people, we were shocked! Both of them sensed that she truly was a dog person and immediately bonded with her. She's mature and reliable and kept up wonderful communication with us throughout our trip. It gave us so much peace of mind seeing them. So happy in the pictures and knowing that they were being loved. Highly recommend she will be our first person we go to for future bookings.”

“Shayna was wonderful with our w cats and 2 dogs. She stayed with them in our house, gave them lots of love, sent us updates every day. She was thoughtful and communicative and gentle. They were happy and very well cared for an we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will book her again without hesitation. Thanks, Shayna!”

About: On top of about a decade’s worth of experience taking care of family and neighborhood pets, I’ve spent the last 1.5 years as a professional dog trainer! I have a passion for pets and making sure they’re happy and safe. I have taken care of and trained just about every age, sizes, and personality type. As long as you let me know what your babies need, I’m more than happy to help! I am a teacher currently on summer break! I have plenty of time to focus on your pets and give them the care and attention they deserve! I am open to doing whatever your normal routine is! I have experience with all kinds of care instructions including first aid and medications. Just let me know!
“Estefanny took care of our two dogs (one a senior requiring medications, the other a 10 month old puppy) and our bearded dragon this past weekend. She was able to stay at our place and be with them the for the period of time we needed. This was our first time using Rover so we were a bit nervous about it all. But Estefanny alleviated all those nerves! We are so thankful for her! Estefanny took care of our babies with thorough love and attention. She snuggled them, engaged with them, everything you’d want for your animal babies and more! We also received continuous updates via messages, pictures, and videos. This being our first time with a Rover sitter, those updates meant the world to us! We strongly recommend Estefanny as your potential pet sitter! She went above and beyond. She was a true professional and we were so lucky to have the chance to work with her. We already have her scheduled for an upcoming trip. If you need a pet sitter, Estefanny is your person!”

About: My whole life I’ve had animals cats dogs farm animals I love them all. I’ve handled big dogs and small dogs and have sitted for friends when they leave for vacation. I currently work full time but still have time on weekends and Wednesday evenings to take care of any pet of all sizes. I am comfortable with all pets My cat has her cat tower and clean litter boxes and she also sleeps in bed too. Lots of play time playing with her toys as well
“There are no words strong enough to describe how grateful I am for Lashay. She didn’t just watch my dog Juno — she loved him like her own. From the moment they met, I could see the patience, warmth, and genuine care Lashay brings to everything she does. Juno isn’t the easiest dog. He’s big, emotional, and full of personality. But Lashay showed incredible calm and understanding, meeting him with kindness every step of the way. She gave me thoughtful updates, photos, and messages that made me feel completely at ease — and honestly, a little jealous because he looked so happy. But it didn’t stop there. Lashay took care of my cat too — with just as much love and attention. I’m not sure how she balances so much with such grace, but I do know this: my animals were in the best hands possible. If you’re lucky enough to have Lashay care for your pets, take it. She is one of a kind. Loving. Professional. Communicative. And above all, trustworthy. Juno and I are forever thankful.”

About: I’ve taken care of many animals for some time now whether it be lizards, cats, dogs, or fish. Family and friends could always put their trust in me when I take care of their pets. I own a cat so I take care of him daily, feed him twice a day, give him toys, bathe him ever so often (depending if he goes outside), brush him because he has long fur. So he fits right in with my schedule and I give him cuddles all the time! I care for my pet everyday! I feed him twice a day ( morning and night) maybe a few treats, I’ll bathe him when needed but not too often cause it hurts their fur coat, clip his nails when needed, brush him just about everyday. I will especially give him cuddles whenever I see him!
“Angela did a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs and our cat. She was very responsive to our emails and provided us with peace of mind when she sent us updates along with their pictures! The house was immaculate and well taken care of. I would highly recommend Angela and we will definately use Angela again in the future!”

“Chris handled our quirky springer spaniel with such patience and kindness. He is reliable and a great communicator. Kept us informed through whole process. We will be booking him again and highly recommend.”

About: The first time I had to pickup dog poop, I cried; 32 years later, I can scoop poop without shedding a tear. I’ve had dogs and cats since I was 4 years old — I currently have one dog (Walter, 2) and two cats (Diane, 17, and Babycat, 13). Walter LOVES other dogs and wishes I would get him a permanent sibling, but it’s not in the cards just yet, so we’re on Rover to fill the void! I work from home, so Walter’s new best friend/your dog will have my undivided attention and most likely be annoyed with my constant affection in no time! I have a fenced in yard for quick potty breaks & playtime. My dog Walter will be a constant source of entertainment and friendship, while my cats will perch in high places and watch your dog from afar. (Basically, they’ll just… be cats???)

About: I treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m really patient, whether it’s a puppy still learning or an older pet that needs things slower and a little extra care. I’m comfortable sticking to routines, giving meds if needed, and paying attention to small changes so nothing gets missed. I want you to feel at ease while you’re away, knowing your pet is safe, cared for, and getting lots of love. my flexible school schedule allows me to easily prioritize pet care around classes, ensuring your cat receives dedicated attention and reliable visits exactly when needed. my routine focuses on maintaining their specific feeding and litter schedules while providing professional medical monitoring, play and quiet companionship without the stress of travel.

FAQs for House Sitting - Oregon
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 175 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oregon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oregon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oregon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oregon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oregon. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
