About: I currently work at a boarding and grooming facility, which gives me daily hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m experienced with feeding routines, handling energetic and shy pets, recognizing dog behavior, and maintaining a safe environment. I’m also familiar with giving baths and nail trims. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, secure, and cared for. I’ve always had a deep love for animals and truly enjoy caring for them as if they were my own. My schedule allows me to provide consistent care throughout the week. I’m available early mornings, evenings, and during my lunch break on workdays, with full availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays. I specialize in drop-in visits, dog walking, and selective house sitting when my schedule allows. I make sure pets get attentive care, exercise, and companionship, and I always keep pet parents updated with photos and communication. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. When caring for pets during drop-in visits, I focus on keeping them comfortable by maintaining their normal routine in their own home. I provide fresh water, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, exercise, and plenty of attention based on each pet’s individual needs and personality. I’m also comfortable administering medications when needed and always follow owner instructions carefully. I understand how important peace of mind is when you’re away, so I’m happy to provide updates and photos throughout my visits. My experience working at a boarding and grooming facility has given me hands-on experience with a variety of pets and has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and attentive care.

About: Hi! My name is Elly, and I’m currently a college student at Kirkwood. I have hands on experience working at an animal hospital as a kennel attendant, where I cared for both cats and dogs. My responsibilities included feeding, administering medications, providing playtime, and taking pets out for potty breaks. I also grew up on a farm, so I’m comfortable working with larger animals and understand the responsibility and care they require. I’ve always been a huge animal lover. I’ve owned a variety of pets including a hedgehog, ferrets, and currently a Mini Australian Shepherd. My boyfriend also has three dogs, so I’m very used to being around and managing multiple dogs at once. I love staying active through hikes and long walks, and I’m very comfortable handling energetic pets. If you’re looking for someone reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about caring for your pets like they’re my own, I’d love the opportunity to help! I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide consistent and reliable pet care. I attend a mix of online and in person classes 2 days a week, which gives me plenty of availability throughout the rest of the week. I also work part time as a waitress in Iowa City 2–3 days a week, typically during evening hours. Because of this, I’m especially available during mornings, afternoons, and overnight for pet care. I’m originally from central Illinois, so I do occasionally travel there in my free time, but I always plan ahead and keep my availability updated to ensure I can fully commit to the pets I’m caring for. Overall, I’m able to offer flexible scheduling and will always communicate clearly to make sure your pet’s needs are fully covered. When caring for pets, my main goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. In a client’s home, I follow your pet’s regular feeding schedule, provide fresh water, and maintain a clean environment this includes litter box care for cats and regular potty breaks for dogs. I make sure each pet gets the attention they need based on their personality. For cats, that may be playtime, enrichment, or calm companionship. For dogs, I provide walks, exercise, and interaction to keep them happy and active. I’m comfortable administering medications for both cats and dogs and use a calm, patient approach especially with shy, nervous, or high energy pets. I also monitor their behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, and I keep owners updated so you always know how your pet is doing. In my own home, I provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. With my background in animal care including rescued cats and experience around multiple dogs I’m confident handling a variety of temperaments and needs. My goal is always to make your pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own while you’re away.

“I was very pleased with Ashlee and would definitely request her again to care for my pets (dog and cats). She asked detailed questions to prepare herself for their care and handled the special medication needs of both my dog and cat by taking a pic of their prepared food. She was dependable and on time. Her relaxed confident manner made my nervous dog at ease with a stranger. I would recommend her to others.”

About: I have had extensive pet care experience over the years. I have cared for both dogs and cats, as well as smaller animals like rabbits and hamsters. I have experience with both indoor and outdoor pets, and I am comfortable with administering medication if needed. In my previous job, I was responsible for feeding, walking, and playing with the pets under my care. I also kept an eye on their health and reported any concerns to their owners. I am passionate about providing the best possible care for animals and I enjoy spending time with them. Well, pet care is an essential part of our daily and weekly routines, especially for pet owners like me. When it comes to taking care of our pets, we need to ensure that they are healthy, happy, and safe. This means providing them with proper nutrition, exercise, grooming, and veterinary care. As a pet owner, my daily pet care routine involves feeding my pet, giving them fresh water, and taking them for a walk or providing them with playtime. Additionally, I take some time to clean up after my pet, such as cleaning their litter box or picking up after them outside. Weekly pet care routines can involve much more, like giving my pet a bath, cleaning their bedding or cage, and checking for any potential health issues or concerns. I also make it a point to play with my pet and teach them new tricks during the week to keep them mentally stimulated and happy. Overall, pet care is a responsibility that pet owners like myself need to take seriously. By incorporating daily and weekly routines, we can ensure that our pets continue to thrive and live healthy, happy lives. Well, I think my approach to caring for my pets at home is pretty comprehensive. Firstly, I make sure to provide them with a clean environment, which means their area and kennel is cleaned as well as, beddings are changed regularly. I also make sure they have access to plenty of fresh water and nutritious food. In terms of exercise and playtime, I schedule a set amount of time each day for interactive play and exercise, in addition to walks outdoors. This keeps them happy, healthy and stimulated both physically and mentally. I also prioritize their medical needs by ensuring they receive regular checkups and vaccinations as needed. This proactive approach helps to prevent health problems down the line. Overall, I believe that providing a safe and nurturing environment, plenty of exercise and playtime, and proactive medical care are all key to caring for pets in a responsible and effective way.

About: I am a CVT-certified veterinary technician of 30 years. I don't want to brag but most pets take to me quickly! Some people in my field just have a special way with animals and I like to think I have that touch. I can provide advanced medical care for pets that may need insulin injections or medications. I also can just provide lots of lovins, walks, potty breaks, and attention while you are gone. When your pup comes and stays with me my hope is that they feel at home and have minimal stress while you are away. If I provide in home care, my hope is that your pup will look at me as the fun aunt who comes over to play and not even realize you were gone! I do work full time so my services are best if you your pet needs twice a day care-mornings and evenings or you needs someone on the weekends-Friday nights, all day Saturdays and all days Sundays. Safety-I do mandatory require a 2 lead policy when walking. I will use your leash and then a slip lead to prevent escape. I will allow pets to be kept in our home. We have 2 small dachshunds that are exceptional with other dogs as my family fosters many dogs. But I would never mix them when dog sitting in my home as a business. I have a secure basement area with kennels where we place our boys when we rotate foster pets in and out and we are giving other pets home life attention. We have a chain link fence but I would never leave a client dog out alone in it. They would also still need to be on a leash in the fence unless you are comfortable you pet will not try to escape. I am extremely cautious-I would use the same precautions as I would a veterinary patient. When I am at your home I will follow all if your safety precautions and probably add my own .
About: I used to live on a ranch including dogs and cats. I’ve had many years of caring for them and when anything happens to them, I’m the first one that gets called to get asked what they can do to help them. I am full time Monday-Friday but I would love to take care of your pets after! Anytime after 4:30 will be the best time I can come after work but on the days I’m off, anytime works Whatever the rules are, I will follow them. If dogs are needed to be crated at a certain time, I can do that and if they need free time constantly then I am all for that as well.
