“Sierra is awesome. Stanly had a great time on his visit while "Mom & Dad" were at the Tennis Tournament. Thanks Sierra! Next time we are in town, we'll look you up. Cheers, Dave & Denise”

“Our dog is very shy, but Joan made the process so easy for us and our fur baby. She sent us photos and updates throughout the day. Thank you for making our first Rover experience so easy and seamless!”

“Cici emanates kindness and ease! She is so good with pups and took excellent of my sweet, then 9 week girl. She kept me up to date and was excellent in communication and photos. Definitely using her again!”

“We are happy to find Geraldine. She has a dog friendly home with secure outdoor space. Bliss was worn out by lots of running and playing with little Reese. We will be back!”

“Lauren was super flexible with my schedule. She helped me find her place when Google was acting up, AND she sent me a picture of my dog playing. I would definitely recommend her. First class, A+ service!”

About: I have taken care of my family members’ and friends’ dogs. I take them out for walks and follow their schedule, if they have one. I am a part time student and can look after and or check in with your pets whenever needed depending on my own personal schedule. I provide a safe, comfortable environment for pets in my home. My backyard is fully fenced, and I have a friendly dog who is well-socialized with other animals. I always supervise interactions and closely monitor pets for any unusual behaviors or signs of stress. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions, to help your pet(s) feel secure and comfortable.
“Natalie and Michael were both so warm and loving to my very anxious pup. I know they look such great care of him and did everything to help him feel right at home. They sent pictures throughout the day and kept me updated about how he was doing. I highly recommend this family to take care of your pet!”

“I felt really comfortable leaving Aya with Jackson. He is clearly a very experienced dog sitter and I couldn’t have been happier with his service. He also kept me updated throughout my dog’s stay which was great. I will 100% contact Jackson the next time I am in the area.”

“Katie was extremely caring and calming for my dog. My dog has pretty severe separation anxiety and is quite particular about who she will stay with - I am also a “helicopter dog mom”. Katie was able to quickly calm her, show her love and cuddle her. Katie was kind and sent me frequent updates and pictures. I plan on having Katie watch my dog whenever I need a sitter and implicitly trust her!”

“Patrick and Caroline took great care of our dog for a few hours at their home in a gated community. They were quick to respond to email exchanges. They also sent us a photo. My dog was so relaxed in their care.”

“I’m so happy to have tried Rover for the first time and Diane was wonderful! It was so nice to enjoy a full day out with friends and to not worry about Griffon. When we come back for a visit to La Quinta, I will definitely reach out to Diane again. Thank you so much!”

“Megan was a lifesaver for our weekend getaway! We were staying at a pet friendly resort but wanted a day where we didn’t have to worry about leaving Dot alone for too long, or bringing her out with us during the hottest time of the year. Even though it was just a single daycare session, Megan provided regular updates and kept our girl happy with plenty of playtime, potty and water breaks. Dot made friends with Megan’s dogs and another Rover stay, she came back to us happy and tired. Would definitely choose Megan again for future trips to the desert!”

“Gloria was wonderful with my dog and took such great care of her during her stay! My pup can be anxious in new places, but she came home calm and clearly well-loved. Gloria was very kind and sent regular updates throughout my dog’s stay, which gave me peace of mind. Her husband was also kind enough to help when I dropped off and picked up my dog. I appreciated how attentive Gloria was to my senior dog’s needs, including her medication schedule. My dog means the world to me, and I would absolutely trust Gloria with her again! 🩷”

“Our big girl Bee had a fabulous vacation at the Brandon and Billy “resort!” This is the second time they have cared for Bee while we enjoy the tennis tournament and it hopefully won’t be the last. They are wonderful with her.”

About: I have been watching over pups of all ages from a few weeks old to senior pup ages giving them all the cuddles, exercise, and snacking of fruits and vegetables to keep them on their toes. There's always time to relax and rest when I close up the curtains and change the lights to a nice dog cartoon or video for them to fall asleep to or cool down from the sun. I have been a foster parent for pups with my husband for about 2 years and never looked back, we have fostered over 12 pups of all ages to families all over the valley and continue to do so until we move to Oregon. I make home made food and treats depending on what I have available at the moment and provide them with different varieties of snacks that are healthy for them. I give them my attention and my fur babies get to play and socialize with everyone welcoming everyone and sharing all their toys🥰 I am currently staying home while my husband works and I do insta cart shopping depending on the day. And looking into getting my masters online so I have plenty of time to give them the attention they need. I have crates and gates depending on the pups needs. I have my home set up to section off pups if they need time to relax or go and play with others without bothering anyone else.
“great! alan and joe were responsive and flexible. Took care of my big 90 pound Dobie they sent updates and pictures throughout the day which was, comforting. will definitely come back!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your One Hundred Palms commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 225 sitters in One Hundred Palms, 91% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
