Haley was absolutely incredible! Our dogs have been sat before and when we come home they seem to be in a funk. But with Haley, it felt as though our pups had been so well taken care of! Not to mention our home was so cared for as well. She was very communicative, and open! Highly highly recommend her! She’s just lovely!

About: I am a reliable and caring pet sitter with experience caring for animals since the age of 6. Now 19, I have grown up around and actively cared for dogs, cats, horses, and cows. I understand animal behavior, safety, and daily routines, and I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for at all times. I am currently a 19-year-old college student on summer break, so my schedule is fully open and flexible. I am available all days of the week, at any time, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I can easily adjust to your pet’s routine and needs, and I am happy to accommodate last-minute or recurring bookings whenever needed. I provide a safe, calm, and trustworthy environment for pets in my care. I live on a farm with plenty of space and a peaceful setting, along with one dog and two friendly cats. I understand animal behavior and prioritize safety, supervision, and comfort at all times. Your pet will be cared for in a secure, low-stress environment where they are treated like family.

Goes above and beyond. During the two weeks I was gone: my backyard tree fell down, my basement had a gas leak, and there was a funeral. She notified me of everything ASAP, handled responses to these issues based on my requests, and sent me regular photos of my dog. She took excellent care of my (crazy) dog and my house!

Joey is absolutely wonderful! Our three Labrador boys really loved him and it put our minds at ease. He was very professional and made sure to re-visit our home before we left on our vacation so our boys could meet him again and to learn their schedule and ask questions. We had zero concerns while we were away which was very nice. He also sent us amazing photos of our boys every day. When we returned, the house was pretty much in the same shape as we left it. It was a great surprise to not have to come home to a mess. We could go on and on about how wonderful he is but overall, if you are looking for a great dog sitter, we would definitely recommend Joey!

About: Growing up I’ve always had a pet, whether it was a dog, cat, reptile, hamster, bunny, etc. The past experience I have is from ages 10 weeks-12 years old. I’m up for any task and have no trouble walking dogs who pull. I use a harness for one of my pups and he is always comfortable walking with me. I currently work full-time but have a flexible schedule. I have two dogs of my own but have help with them. Can always adjust schedule as needed. I treat every pet the way I would want someone to treat my pet. I don’t neglect and I listen to rules very carefully. I’m a very trustworthy person and can even send hourly updates on your furry friend!

Kolby is an awesome sitter and he takes care of more than dogs! I have a farmstead that includes a horse, a goat, an emu and over 60 chickens and other foul that include babies right now. Kobe did overnights and everybody was well taken care of and happy. One of my dogs is very standoffish with strangers and a little bit intimidating and Kobe handled that like a champ. I'm super pleased with Colby and I will definitely be looking to book with him in the future. His rates are very reasonable. If you have animals besides just the normal cats and dogs, Kobe will be able to help you with that. Farmsteaders and homesteaders, this guy is great!

This is the third time Elizbeth cared for my two dogs and one cat. This was a 2-night house-sitting job. I can't say enough positive things about how Elizabeth ensured my pets' welfare. Both dogs are pretty sensitive and have been uneasy when we have been away in the past. Not so with Elizabeth! They had a great time playing and cuddling with her, and they settled in beautifully. When we got home, I could see how comfortable they are with Elizabeth. What a difference and what a relief! I recommend Elizabeth highly for her pet sitting skills and dedication to the best care for my pets.

About: Hi there! I’m Gigi, I work from home full-time and only take a few dogs at a time, so every pup gets lots of attention in a comfortable, home environment🤍 We carry our own private pet care insurance (not just Rover’s standard protection). We also keep a consistent routine so everything feels easy for the dogs. I help dogs get comfortable using our dog door so they can go in and out freely and keep their usual routine. I’ve worked with puppies as well and can help reinforce things like potty training, crate time, and settling into a new environment. We keep things relaxed and typically have up to 3 dogs at a time, so every dog has space to feel comfortable. We do a quick meet & greet beforehand to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. Our setup works best for small to medium dogs. We have a fully fenced yard with a custom-built dog door, plus added safety features like anti-dig guards and front porch fencing for extra peace of mind. We also have cameras covering the backyard and main dog areas so we can keep a close eye on everyone. Inside, things are clean, cozy, and dog-safe, with floors and common areas kept clear so dogs don’t get into anything they shouldn’t. There’s also a fully enclosed indoor play area if separation is ever needed. My husband Nate and I care for the dogs together. I work from home full-time, and Nate works at a local school and gets home early, so someone is usually home with the dogs :) ⸻ 🐾 Your pup will enjoy: – Small group – 24/7 dog door access to fenced backyard (fresh water always available) – Clean, dog-safe spaces (no kitchen access) – Separated during feeding to avoid conflicts – Daily walks or runs in a quiet neighborhood – Photo/video updates – Plenty of playtime and supervision (Healthy snacks like yogurt, berries, or pumpkin if you’re okay with it 😊) ⸻ We’re located right off the highway—Rochester’s last exit before Buffalo/Canada, only about 10 minutes from ROC Airport. I’m always quick to respond, and can be flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. We do ask for booking at least a week in advance so we can schedule a quick meet & greet 🤍 I work from home full-time, so I’m around throughout the day for walks, playtime, and regular check-ins, and can let dogs out frequently as needed while keeping a consistent routine. We have a fully fenced yard with a dog door, so pups can go in and out easily. Inside is clean, dog-safe, and set up for a calm, well-managed environment.

Edward did a great job for us. He and our dog Buddy got along famously, and he was especially diligent about keeping us informed about Buddy’s time with him. Edward stayed with Buddy for five days and kept us up-to-date throughout. Additionally, the house was left in perfect condition. We will certainly use Edward for our next trip away.

About: I have owned Dogs all my life. I believe that immediate recall is the most important tool for all Dog owners. I also believe in challenging Dogs brains with games like find it hide and seek. A tired Dog at the end of each day is a happy Dog. I exercise my Dog every day. I have a Doberman she is the start and end to my Day. With high energy Dogs they need lots of body and mind stimulation to maintain a healthy Dog . I treat each Dog as if they were my own. Well trained well exercised and most importantly immediate recall. If your Dog doesn’t have immediate recall when I meet them. They will the first time I watch them. To me that is the most significant training tool for every Dog owners including myself.

About: Caring for animals isn’t just my job it’s something I genuinely love. I have over 10 years of experience and treat every pet like family. I make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s going on walks, playing, or just giving them attention, I’m there for them. I always keep you updated with messages and photos so you never have to worry. I’d be thrilled to connect with you! Pet care is my full-time routine, so my days are built around my clients and their pets. I plan everything around walks, drop-ins, and overnights to make sure each pet gets the attention, care, and consistency they need. I always try to stick to their normal routine feeding, walks, playtime, and anything specific you’d like me to do. For house sitting, I stay overnight and spend the majority of my time there so your pet feels comfortable and not alone. I may be in and out during the day for other scheduled visits, but I’m there most of the time and always make sure your pet is well taken care of. I make sure they’re fed on time, get enough exercise, and get lots of love and attention. My routine is centered around providing safe, reliable care for drop-ins, dog walking, and overnight stays. When caring for pets in your home, I follow their routine closely so they feel comfortable and at ease in their own space. I create a calm, trusting environment and treat your home with the same respect as my own. Whether it’s a walk, a drop-in, or an overnight, I make sure your pup gets the right mix of exercise, attention, and care. I handle feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, and playtime. During overnights, I stay the majority of the time so your pet has consistency, safety, and company. I’m very attentive, keep things clean and tidy, and send regular updates and photos so you always feel at ease.

Paulina was a lifesaver for us and was able to accommodate a very short request period and provided excellent care. She continually reached out to us with pictures and videos of our puppy and let us know how the day was going. She had very appropriate questions regarding his care and completed all of our requests without issue. We're very lucky to have found her and appreciate the work she does!

About: I have had dogs in my life since I was born really my father always and still has 2 dogs which I help with as well still, I have dog sat numerous times two Boston terriers and two cats for a lovely family I currently have complete open availability that includes weekends as well. Taking some time off from work and sitting home doing gets boring really quick and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my time then to hangout with some animals 🤗 My house wouldn’t be suitable for housing pets due to having my own and it’s a shared house with my sister and her children as well

FAQs for House Sitting - Nunda

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 67 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Nunda. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Nunda walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Nunda maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nunda choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
