About: I’ve worked with animals professionally for 3+ years, I started out working at an animal shelter and I am now working as a veterinary assistant. I’m currently in school to become a veterinary technician! Friends and family have relied on me for many years to walk, feed, play and just hangout with their pets! I love all animals big and small! I am currently in college and working part time but I have extra time to take care of your fur babies! I have lots of spare time within my weekly schedule! I can easily make accommodation's for any of my clients homes and pets and any of their needs! Whether it’s just stopping in for a potty break, a meal time or a walk!

About: I've had dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes over the last 3 decades. Currently, I have two pups—Aggie and Parker, 4 and 12 years old. I am an animal person and don't mind any part of running, walking, or cleaning up after them. I have experience with training animals and always prioritize your rules and ways of taking care of your fur baby. I work remotely from home, along with my husband. There is always someone at home, it's rare for us both to be out at the same time. We have experience in dog sitting dogs with anxiety or co-dependency (our own dog has anxiety) so we do our best to alleviate any stress your pup may have while you are gone, and in addition, can send as many photos as you need of them while they stay with us! Bonus: I'm a professional photographer, so you may get some pretty cute snaps. :)

About: I will absolutely spoil and love your pets like they are my own! I am a recent graduate from UW-Madison in Wildlife Ecology where I gained animal experience. I also graduated from Madison College with an Associate Degree for Veterinary Technician. I worked in the veterinary field for over a year before attending UW-Madison. I take pride in my ability to care for animals and the love I have for them. My schedule is currently completely open to take care of and spoil all the pets I can. I have a Chocolate Labrador named Jake that would need to come with me when house sitting. He is good with dogs and cats. I might not have a fenced yard, but there is so much space near my apartment for dogs to play and run. There is also a trail close by that I have taken my dog on, which she loves. I have a truck that can transport them. If I am caring for pets in the client's home I have no issue with taking them out to play or on walks. I absolutely love being around pets.

“Dawnlea is an amazing pet sitter! My pup has separation anxiety, but she was so warm, calm, and sweet with Matilde. She cleaned up my house when she had a little bit of an accident and was extremely communicative, always providing lots of updates and photos throughout her visits too. Definitely recommended her services to everyone in the Janesville area! 😄”

I completed Veterinary Assistant coursework at Madison College and have worked in dog daycare, pet care, and grooming environments. I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, anxious pets, and dogs with behavioral needs. About: I am 37 and have worked professionally with dogs for 10 years during my 20s. I began working in a boarding and daycare facility when I was 18. Since that time I have worked for other kennels as I have moved. I received my training certification in 2010 from Animal Behavior College and volunteered extensively at a shelter in Kansas City. I have volunteered with numerous rescue groups providing training and foster homes along with many boarding facilities. I love pet sitting and getting the opportunity to make a animals happy while their parents are away- all the rewards of being the fun aunt :) Experience with pets who have medications/diabetes/special needs. HOUSE SITTING: I work from home, with appointments throughout the day so your pets won't be left alone for long. I am flexible fitting into your pets routines, watering plants, and any other up-keeps that need done while you are away. A majority of the time I work from home while having occasional appointments out of the home. This gives me plenty of flexibility to ensure that your pet gets 1:1 time and gets outside when needed. I like to follow my clients routines so their pet can predict as much as possible. My experience has given me a little bit of the super power to predict the future, which leads to me to taking extra safety steps “just in case”

About: I’ve enjoyed animals my entire life. I had a dog growing up, and I fell in love with dogs and horses. I went to college for equine related activities. I’ve watched my friends pets and pets of contacts through church in the comfort of their home. I treat your pets as if they were my own. I’m able to walk your dogs, administer medicine and take note of their behavior. I always keep owners updated on how their pets are doing while they’re away unless they don’t want to be notified. I even send photos to keep owners updated and at ease. I’m currently working part time and have plenty of time to walk and play with your pets. Animals make me happy, and I love them. I currently don’t have a place that allows pets, but I’d be happy to take your pets to a park. I can also take them to a public walk path if a park is overwhelming and not a good fit.

About: My husband and I are workampers! That means we move every season to a new campground and work there. This time, we are at Jellystone Caledonia!! We love to have the presence of animals, since it gets boring living in a campground without an animal to walk. There is a great dog park here with great socialization opportunities (for us and the dogs 😆😆)!! I would love an opportunity to pet sit any type of fur babies, I grew up with cats and dogs my whole life!!! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!! Pet care fits seamlessly into our routine. My husband and I travel full time, which gives us a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability. We both enjoy meeting new people and animals along the way, and our lifestyle allows us to be present, attentive, and adaptable. Caring for pets fits easily into our daily life and is something we LOVE. I care for pets by following their established routines as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I make sure feeding schedules, walks, litter care, playtime, and medications (if needed) are handled consistently and with attention to detail. I respect the home and keep everything clean and orderly while you’re away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
