âWendy completed three drop-in visits for my two dogs recently and I look forward to booking with her again. She comes across as very professional and competent, and I was confident that she would take good care of my pets while I was away. My younger dog is very shy and anxious around new people, and Wendy was understanding and considerate with her. She was respectful of my privacy and living space, careful about following through with my requests, and I highly recommend her.â

âIt was so nice meeting Alicia! Our cats were in great hands while we were away. She sent us regular updates so we never had to worry how they were doing. Would definitely book with her again!â

âCorina was absolutely fabulous! I couldnât ask for a better sitter for our sweet old man. She left the funniest descriptions of her time with Zarco that made me smile and made it a little easier to be away. I couldnât recommend her more!â

âThis is my second time having Hannah check on goobie. She was so helpful and went far beyond just making sure his basic needs were filled. The pictures were great and she even assisted with a problem at my home outside of pet sitting! :)â

âBrooke was wonderful to work with. We needed someone last minute while on vacation and she was able to quickly accommodate us and our four dogs. She was kind enough to call and FaceTime first to put us at ease. She communicated well throughout the day and sent pictures. Thanks for everything!â

âChristi was super friendly and helpful. I have seven cats, which can be tricky to manage when feeding, but she took great care of them. Christi was awesome and will definitely reach out again if we need a pet sitter.â

About: Hello! Iâm a dependable and caring animal lover who understands that pets are family. Iâll also keep you updated with messages and photos, so you can have peace of mind while youâre away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry best friend! I work Monday thru Thursday as a dental assistant, so I am usually free all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! Pet care fits easily into my routine because I dedicate time specifically for it. Iâm available on Fridays and throughout the weekend, giving me plenty of time to provide walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention. I enjoy being active and spending time with dogs, so Iâm committed to making sure every pet receives reliable, loving care while their owner is away. When caring for pets in a clientâs home, I make it a priority to keep their routine as normal as possible. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any special care they require. I make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while keeping their environment clean, safe, and comfortable. About: Iâve taken care of plenty of family/friends pets for a few years. We have a 1yr old lab and a 2 yr old cat as well. I love to work with puppies on their sit and stays (or really anything you might want assistance with). I can be sure to keep the training going! Nothing is better than a well trained dog! I currently work Monday-Friday but am happy to do evenings/overnights or even weekends for your favorite loved ones! I can also stay overnight during the week as well and go back after Iâm out of work if that is ok with you and your pets schedule!! We have a 1 yr old lab who loves to play and is happy to if your pets allow it! We donât use a leash on him at home as we live in the woods but if your dog is a runner I will keep them on a leash so we donât have any issues. We have a run we can hook them on to play outside if they prefer to not be on a leash. Lastly our favorite place to hangout is in our basement because our big guy can run around and be in a safe place!
About: Hello! I am new to Rover but I have been working with animals all my life from a very young age and I have been pet sitting for about 4 years. There were always pets in the home, mostly dogs and cats all my life and I have thorough experience being around animals and knowing how to take care of them. I took a major part in taking care of the puppies that my family bred most of my childhood, I have experience in working with a variety of animals such as dogs, cats, reptiles, roosters/chickens, horses, guinea pigs, etc. Besides working with my own pets I have been pet sitting for around 4 years now and have become very comfortable working with other peoples pets. I pride myself on my attention to detail and focus on making sure your pet/pets are as comfortable as possible. I am currently a student but most of my classes are online so I am very flexible and available pretty much every day of the week currently. I am able to be intuitive and approach every animal with the care and attention that is specific to their needs. I am sensitive to boundaries and always making sure to focus on listening to what they are communicating.
About: Iâve been around dogs my whole life. My family have relied on me to attend to theirs, giving them company, playing, going on walks, feeding and giving them water. Iâm a mom of 3 kids, I have 3 cats, and 2 dog. I absolutely love animals. I can be there for you and your fur babies. I also have a wide availability during the weekday & weekends. For in-home visits, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, along with fresh food, clean water, and a tidy living space. I also monitor pets for any changes in behavior or health and communicate updates to owners with photos and messages for peace of mind.

Im an artsy person; im in college for horticulture and I hope to work as an agricultural specialist. Veterinary assistant experience from York County Community College. Im going to school online so I can always be available. I am very knowledgeable in Pet CPR. Fast reaction skills and attention to detail. About: I have been around animals my entire life. I have worked with all kinds of sizes, temperaments, and personalities. I currently volunteer with the ARLGP, and love the skills I learn every day from the dogs and other animals there. Whether your dog is the easiest to walk, or needs some special attention (and strength!), I am here to help! Your pets may come back with better manners than when they left :) I am a business owner, and am often home at my property in Topsham enjoying the sunshine or local trails with them. Despite my own travel, my schedule is incredibly open and flexible! We have a small portion of our yard that has a light fence, we usually just walk the dogs or take them to the nearby dog park. Our little guy is an ex-escape artist, so we are always double checking, paying attention, and increasing security on walks / outings! Safety is a huge priority!
âThis is the third time Emily stopped by. Sheâs a natural animal lover and shows a great deal of respect for our home and caring for our pup. Thank you Emily.â

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newcastle. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
