About: I have taken care of dogs within my household for 15 years now, with the additional walking & house sitting for neighbors! I recently started pet walking & sitting in Blacksburg this year and have had such a blast! As an incoming vet student this fall, I will bring an expertise and view that will be beneficial for the pet in their environment and for the owners. I am so motivated to support owners with their schedules by sitting or walking! I’m currently working part-time throughout the summer, and have time within the day to complete walks for your pets! I am also available to pet sit in-home for you if needed; preferably not Monday-Wednesday, but I am flexible! I always start off my sessions with building a connection with the pet prior. If possible, I like to meet prior to needing my services to socialize myself with the pet, so that trust can be gained. Once this is done, I love to play with the pets and cuddle them so that they feel secure! I love taking photos of the pets during walks to send to the owners, as this reassures them!

About: Ever since I was born I had an animal right by my side . I have learned to take care of animals and provide for them. I have taken care of friends, family and neighbors pets in the past. I also have worked at a dog daycare called tail chasers so I have experience with big dog groups. I’m good with cats as well . I’m experienced with walking multiple dogs at a time because I got 3 myself. I’m currently working 3:30 am to 12:00 pm so I will have plenty time to spend with your animals. I’m free on the weekends as well . Willing to come to your place to house sit and take care of your animals. I have done that in the past for people. Willing to also stop by and give water, food and walks with some play time on the side .

About: As the mom of an 11 year old husky, I’ve had great experience with high energy dogs! Especially ones that need long walks! I can help implement basic leash training, exposure, and just love your furry friend like I would my own. I work a hybrid job, with three days a week at home. This means I can take your pup out for a lunch break, or if you’re running late from the office! I’m also available most weekends. I will always act with love and respect to your pet, like I would my own! I hope to become someone they look forward to seeing because they know it means they get to go out in the yard or on a nice walk.

About: I've had a dog all my life except for the brief interlude (1965-1970) while I served in the Marine Corps. Since my kids have grown and left home my dogs are now my babies. I'm retired and have a lot of time on my hands. I'd like to have the option of caring for someones pet now and then to give me something to do. I love dogs and rarely met a dog that doesn't love me right back. My dogs are almost always with me. Excepting - going to the store in the summer when the temperature in the car would be too hot. I make sure my dogs are safe and comfortable.

About: I have previously worked with Flying Fur, a doggy daycare and boarding service located in Newport, VA. Here, I gained experience working with various breeds and temperaments, and I would be happy to help you with your animal while you are away. In high school, I took small animal care as well as vet science, and have interacted with several of the therapy dogs on Radford University Campus. I am currently a college student working part-time, and I’d love to help care for your pet on my free time!! I am free weekly in the mornings and evenings! Can’t wait to meet your pets! During the walks, I allow the dogs to go at their own pace to get a sense of security with me and I love to reward them if they are doing good!

About: I've been taking care of pets since I was a teenager, both for and outside of my family. I became a certified veterinarian assistant and have worked at animal clinics for seven years. I am able to do both simple and advanced skills like dog walking, drop-in play visits and administering medications. With having a diabetic dog, I have experience administering insulin and understanding the responsibilities that come with those cases. I currently work full-time at the animal clinic, but have availability during lunch hours during the work week. On Fridays and the weekends I am more flexible. At this time, I am unable to provide services at my home. In the future I will revisit that as a possible added opportunity to care for your pets.

Your home is a sanctuary and my goal, as your sitter, is for you to return home happy every time. I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I’m available for overnight stays all days of the week. I take a gentle and patient approach while getting to know your animal. I establish that I am a safe person and through positive reinforcement and consistency develop a trusting relationship. I aim to provide you and your animals peace-of-mind and take steps to follow the routines you have set in place.

Whether it’s a playful puppy in training stages or supporting a senior pup with extra love and patience. I’m dependable, caring, and always focused on making pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I'm a lifelong dog lover, and have had experience taking care of my own 4 pups! Along with sitting for family and friends over the years. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine! I currently have a part-time job at Montgomery hospital and attend Radford University during the school year, but I still have plenty of availability outside of classes. A majority of my classes are done by 11 am. And Wednesdays are my busiest/fullest days. I enjoy spending my free time with animals, and I’m great at balancing my responsibilities while making sure pets get the attention and care they need! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always make sure to follow their usual routines to help the pet feel safe and comfortable. I give lots of attention, playtime, and care, and I’m happy to follow any special instructions! Whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, or favorite walking routes. I will have one more semester of college classes, but I am always willing to commute! I will stick to whatever schedule your animals are used to and will bring a warm and loving attitude! I always make sure to have plenty of playtime and/or snuggles!

About: I would absolutely love to take care of your sweet doggie! I do believe a dog is a man’s best friend so they deserve the best care. I believe a dogs life is just as important as a humans. In fact, I know for some of us, all we have is our dog. They mean the world to us. I will make sure your dog is the safest it can be.

Brandon D.
“Brandon is truly one of a kind when it comes to caring for pets. From the moment he walked through the door, our dog Teddy absolutely fell in love with him—and honestly, so did we! Brandon has an incredibly calming and loving presence that animals seem to pick up on right away. We were especially amazed at how quickly he bonded with our notoriously feisty chihuahua. It usually takes ages for her to warm up to new people, but Brandon had her eating out of his hand (literally!) in no time. He’s also one of the most trustworthy and responsible people we’ve ever had care for our pets. He’s respectful of our home, always communicates clearly, and goes above and beyond to make sure our dogs feel safe and loved. Knowing he’s heading to vet school just reinforces what we already knew—he’s made for this. Highly, highly recommend Brandon. Your pets couldn’t be in better hands.”

Sarah T.
“Sarah Thompson has always loved animals of all kinds! She has the experience and knowledge to help keep your pets safe and well cared for!”

Her gentle, patient nature shines through in the way she interacts with our cats, always ensuring each one receives the attention they need. Amelia B.
“I can't say enough good things about Amelia and the amazing care she provided for my two beagles! One is a playful 1-year-old and the other is a sweet and lazy 10-year-old. Amelia handled both of them with so much love, patience, and attentiveness. Not only is she incredibly sweet, but she also went above and beyond while I was away. I came home to a spotless house and two happy pups. She even tackled the nearly impossible task of bathing one of my dogs after she was sprayed by a skunk—something I wouldn’t wish on anyone! Amelia handled it with grace and made sure my pup was clean and comfortable. It's such a relief knowing I have someone I can truly trust with my dogs and my home. Amelia is everything you'd want in a pet sitter! She is caring, responsible, and just a genuinely wonderful person. I Highly, highly recommend her!!!”

New River dog parents share their Rover experiences
I had a wonderful experience with our dog walker Shelby. She was incredibly caring, thorough, and attentive, and it really showed in how she interacted with our dogs. From the first meet-and-greet to the final walk, she demonstrated a genuine love for animals and a professional approach to her work. What stood out the most was how happy and relaxed our dogs were after each visit. It was clear they felt comfortable and well cared for. She kept us updated with notes and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. If you’re looking for someone dependable who will treat your pets like family, I highly recommend her. She did a fantastic job and we’ll definitely be booking with her again!
