“Abigail responded super quickly to a last minute request, and took wonderful care of my baby, sending updates and regular photos while I had to be away. :) I am so thankful to have found Abigail.”

“Ariane did great! Our kitties loved her, even our shy boy. She was very communicative and helpful when the naughty one made a mess. I would definitely recommend her for your pet needs!!”

About: Hi! I have taken care of pets my whole life. I have a lot of experience with all animals with all different kinds of needs. I currently work 6am-3pm on Monday through Friday. I am able to come by and/or sit after work. I am available on weekends full time! I have an unfenced yard but it’s big and great for running around and play time! I have my own dog to either keep yours company or can stay with my sister to ensure the comfort of your pup!
About: I take care of many types of pets, from reptiles to exotics, as well as the common family members like dogs and cats! I love all creatures big and small. I work with reptiles during the day, but I would love to work with your furry family members too! My schedule is open almost every weekend and nights after 3:30 PM! I care for pets like they’re my own! I have my own snake, cat, and insects, and grew up with dogs. Because of this, I know how to learn an animal’s quirks and work with them to make sure they’re as safe and comfortable as can be.
“Amber was amazing! She took great care of my girl and she truly made her feel safe and loved while I was away. She handled everything so well and provided great care for my sweet girl. I got pictures, videos, and updates all within a timely manner. Would 100% recommend Amber to anyone!”

I’ll always confirm timing in advance to ensure your pet receives dependable, unrushed care. I will follow your cat’s normal routine and all care instructions closely. About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! I’ve grown up with — and cared for — pets of all shapes and sizes, from dogs and cats to fish, birds, horses, rodents, and even reptiles. No matter who your furry (or scaly!) family member is, I’m excited to give them the same love and attention I give my own. Pet care is already a natural part of my day. I take care of my cat every morning and evening—making sure she has fresh water, the right amount of food, a clean litter box, and plenty of playtime. Since I’m already in a daily rhythm of caring for pets, adding walks or drop-ins fits easily and naturally into my routine. At home, my kitten is always the first one to greet me at the door, so I make sure she gets attention and reassurance right away. I keep her routine consistent—fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and lots of playtime and affection. When caring for a client’s pets, I’m very mindful of their established routines. I follow feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions exactly as given. I want every pet to feel comfortable and secure, so I do my best to maintain the rhythm they’re used to. Whether it’s my home or yours, my priority is making sure pets feel safe, understood, and well cared for.
About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 4 years, and I truly treat every animal like they’re my own. What sets me apart is how much I genuinely care about making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, and little quirks because I know every animal is different. I’m currently enrolled in the online program at CVCC, where I’m majoring in Criminal Justice. Since my classes are online, I have a flexible schedule and am happy to work with others to accommodate their needs. I’m dependable, adaptable, and willing to work with your schedule to ensure everyone’s needs are met. I always try to keep things as normal as possible for your pet while you’re away. I follow their usual routine for feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and anything else they’re used to. I also give them lots of attention and make sure they feel comfortable and safe. When I’m caring for them in their home, I’m respectful of their space and make sure everything is clean and taken care of. I know every pet is different, so I’m happy to adjust to whatever makes them happiest and most comfortable.
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gillian is AMAZING. This was my first (and second) time using Rover as we could not bring our pet Tiger with us. I am always worried to leave him bc he is extremely shy and skittish. Nonetheless, Gillian gave me so much peace of mind posting pictures to Rover daily. I genuinely looked forward to the updates each day. Her attention to detail, open communication, and loving care for animals is evident. She exceeded my expectations BOTH times and I was over the moon 🤩 My husband and I truly didn’t need to worry while we were away. After the first booking, we knew Tiger was in good hands and wanted to book with Gillian again 🐾💙 We are SOO thankful to be able to trust her in our home and with our shy fur baby. Book her, you won’t regret it. Gillian is the best!!”
Cat parents share their Rover experiences - New London
Abigail was so wonderful with my cat. I am a first time cat mom. This was also my first time leaving my baby for a period of time. Abigail put my worries at ease. She gave me updates, and my baby looked very happy. She will be my first choice next time I need a sitter.

Mia was amazing! My 2 cats are super shy and never come out when we have stranger in the house but she sent pictures each visit of them out and about! She was super sweet and very quick to respond to any messages. She stayed for a bit each visit even though I told her she didn’t have to worry about staying for long since they typically hide 🤣 Will definitely rebook with her!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
