“Dan gave the best accommodation for my golden. Very responsive and was also able to take him on very short notice. He had great time at her home and kids gave best playtime for him. She had updated the status and sent photos all day which I liked very much. I would definitely recommend her and also drop my golden in future.”

“Very communicative, friendly, caring, and overall a great experience. They gave us updates on Maggie, how/what she was doing, and pictures. We could tell they love what they do and care about the dogs in their charge. They went out of their way to do a meet-and-greet upfront, and they care that the dogs are a good fit and will get along. Will definitely be using them regularly in the future.”

“Beth was so responsive and provided great detail into any message she sent regarding Ivan. I never once had to message her first to ask how he was doing. She made sure to send me lots of messages and lots of photos and I felt very comfortable leaving Ivan in her care. would highly recommend her I cannot say enough good things.”

“Our Goldendoodles were well taken care of and seemed to have a great time! Lots of pictures and updates so we always knew what was going on. Would definitely leave them here again!”

About: I don't remember life without dogs. They've been my companions and best friends since I was a kid. I love them so much that I can bark well enough to fool you into thinking I'm one of them! Over the years, I've been around all kinds of dogs, from Great Danes to mutts and Golden Retrievers. I've also rescued dogs from difficult situations. I've learned that every dog has its own personality. Some want to play all day, some want to cuddle, and others just want to do their own thing. If your dog is big, I'm strong enough to take them on a walk. If they're cuddly, I'll cuddle the crap out of them. If they need space or time to warm up, that's fine, too. I'm comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and I don't get nervous or jumpy around them. I'm sure your dog will bring lots of joy to my home. I have a spacious house where dogs can relax wherever they feel comfortable, along with a fenced backyard where they can run and play. I'll make sure your dog gets the attention, care, and space they need to feel at home. When I'm out, it's never for more than four hours. If your dog stays with me, they would be alone for four hours at most. The rest of the time we'll be around to give them attention and affection. My house is spacious, so your dog can find a comfortable spot to hang out wherever they like. I also have a fenced-in backyard where they can run around and play. I'm happy to take them on walks or to a nearby park, too. Every dog is different, so just let me know the specifics: their routine, what they enjoy, what makes them nervous, and anything else I should know. I want them to feel at home here, not like they're stuck somewhere unfamiliar while you're away.

“Arla was great with Auggie! Was communicative and made sure to send lots of pics of the great walks they took. Nice, comfy, safe home for my good old boy! Will definitely use again!”

“Jian was the answer to our prayers. Not only did she take excellent care of Louis she constantly updated us with sweet texts and pictures. I couldn’t have found anyone better. I would be very happy to have her care for Louis again. I honestly cannot say enough great things about her. She was excellent”

“Oliver took great care of our 10-year-old and 5-month-old at the same time. He’s great at responding quickly and providing updates on their day. We’ll definitely have Jack and Mick stay with Oliver again!”

“Provided regular updates, always responded quickly whenever I messaged her, and took such great care of my fur baby. I picked my pup up happy, healthy, and in great condition. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again! ❤️🐾”

“we were gone for three days to a family reunion. My lab Zion had never stayed with anyone other than my niece. I was really worried about using Rover, however, Mariah was absolutely excellent! She took great care of Zion and gave me regular updates! I will use Rover again!!”

“Brooke was so amazing and took great care of Maple! She sent pics, took her to the dog park to run and play, and I appreciated her quick communication for setting up the booking. I know Maple will be excited to go see Brooke again!”

“Rachel and Frank were great with my dog Rusty, he was allowed to nap on the couch, snuggle on the bed, running around the house just like he's used to at home. Rachel provided picture updates daily, you can tell Rachel and Frank are dog lovers, they really care about your pet as their own. My flight was delayed on the way back, I didn't get to pick up Rusty until after 10pm, Rachel and Frank were very understanding. I would book with them again next time I need to go out of town!”

“Lilli was great communicating with us regarding Penny. We were out of cell network, so some photos and updates didn't work, but with some extra efforts, Lilli was able to let us know that she and Penny were doing fine, and she managed to send photos despite the setback. We will rebook with her when we have need of sitter!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their New Castle home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your New Castle.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your New Castle sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
