Lacy was nothing but unfailingly kind, diligent, attentive, and reliable while taking wonderful care of our cat during our week-long trip out of state. Being able to rely on someone who consistently showed up for check-ins and made sure our cat had both food AND treats while we were away was such a comfort that we had zero worries about our cat being safe and well taken care of. We had to book with essentially no notice due to our original plans falling through day-of, so we will always be grateful for such kindness! Thank you so much for making sure our cat wasn't lonely and hungry, Lacy!

Thrilled to have found Haylie! In just one week she has won our hearts. She have been arriving promptly, letting our dog out, and even playing with our cats. She keeps me informed if something seems off (one of our cats had managed to pull her collar off) and locks up when she leaves. I hope to continue working with Haylie for the foreseeable future!

About: I have two Border Collies, ages 5 and 4. They have increased my overall dog education tremendously. Having an 'experienced owner' breed of dogs has led me to step up my training game and ideas for mental and physical stimulation. I am ready to use these skills I've developed to raise a couple of good boys, to help you with walks and drop-in visits. I have had my dogs since they were each 1 month old. I am well educated on appropriate exercising needs, basic care, and raw and kibble feeding. I also am aware of safety and basic first aid skills. I am a foster home for Clancy's Dream. Clancy's Dream works to save the lives and rehome Border Collies from all situations across the country. My little guy is an 'adoption failure'. :) I have worked with reactive and anxious dogs. I spend my free time researching training techniques, behaviors, and general health articles. I regularly pet sit for friends in multi-pet households throughout the year. I have worked with daily care of chickens, cats, and dogs of all sizes. I have spent time working for a local dog food company in a pet friendly environment. I have three cats and know the patience and attention they require as well. I have grown up with a Lab, Rottweiler, Mastiff, and a Cane Corso. I put my heart into their little bodies and want them to have a great time when were together and be all set to go back inside, hopefully for a nap. I am very conscious about when they go to the bathroom. If they've just played hard I'm going to wait until they've peed again before ending a session. I don't want anyone to be uncomfortable! I am a school counselor in another school district so I am flexible surrounding the school calendar -- summers and breaks are wide open! During school in-session weeks I am available in the evenings from 5-7. In my client's home, I have the utmost respect. So much trust goes into allowing someone into your home and to care for you family members with fur. I will have patience and understanding for your pets and meet them where they are on a comfort level. I am an unfamiliar face walking into their home. Upon entering I will say hello to your pet and give some loving before going out to potty. Next, we complete whatever requests you have for your specific visit (play time, basic care, walk, attention, etc.). Lots of love will be offered when working with your pet. I really love dogs so much. So whatever they are into, we will do. Cats are no exception. Even if it's love from a distance. I take lots of pictures of what we do with our time together. I will layout out all our adventures and how we spent our time together, everytime.

Have peace of mind when leaving, whether that be for work or for a long vacation, cause I will treat your pets as if they are my own! About: I’ve been surrounded by cats my whole life and bring a calm, patient vibe to every visit—but I love dogs just as much, so tail wags are always welcome too! I take time to get to know each pet’s unique personality, whether that means cozy cuddles, zoomie-fueled playtime, or just being a reassuring presence while you’re away. Expect plenty of pets, play, fresh food and water, and a sparkling clean litter box for cats—or fun walks, outdoor time, and belly rubs for dogs. Based in Cincinnati, I offer pet sitting and drop-ins across the metro area. My flexible schedule (and free weekends!) means I can stick closely to your pet’s routine. I’m experienced with oral and topical medications and treat every furry friend like my own—because they deserve nothing less 🐾 I'm currently on the hunt for a new Agency position, so my days and weeks are completely free currently. Able to be booked at any time. I tailor my care to each pet and the service you choose, because every animal has their own routine and personality. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping things as familiar and stress-free as possible—sticking closely to feeding schedules, walk routines, and favorite playtime activities. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, along with fresh food and water, and I keep their spaces clean (litter boxes, food areas, etc.). For dogs, that usually means walks, outdoor time, and lots of play (plus belly rubs, of course). For cats, I match their vibe—whether that’s interactive play or just quiet companionship and gentle pets. I’m also experienced with oral and topical medications and always keep an eye on behavior and health, so I can catch anything unusual early. I treat every home with respect and every pet like they’re my own, and I’m happy to send updates and photos so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands.

About: My family has always owned a dog. Ever since I was young, my family and friends have relied on me to care for their animals, whether it be a walk, or an overnight sit. I’m a current Ball State Social Work grad student and love paying visits to the local Animal Shelter in my free time! I am a part time grad student at Ball State University, and also work part time at a daycare. I still have a lot of free time I’d like to fill throughout the week doing something I love, like taking care of animals. I am very attentive when it comes to caring for other peoples babies. Safety for myself and the pet is my number one priority. I do have a fenced in big back yard, and I also live right next to campus!

About: I grew up with 3 large breed dogs and have done 2 years of dog walking / pet sitting! During my 2 years of pet sitting, I took care of puppies from 6 weeks old to senior dogs. Things that fell under the description of ‘took care of’ are; picking up poop, feeding / following dietary schedules, administering medications, walks, play time, bathroom breaks, training work, mental stimulation (snuffle mats, kongs, etc.) I do daily dog walks, and am helping my parents raise and train a German shepherd! I also have 2 cats of my own at home. I will travel to your home by car! I do not offer care for your pets in my home due to my cats not being very sociable haha!!

Haylie was very kind and communicative about her process for our recent drop in. She came by and hung out with our 3 fur babies for the allotted time, fed them and let them out while we were out of town. She locked up the house and left it as it was when she arrived. She is a true animal lover and made sure our pets got some extra lovins while we were gone and sent lots of pictures which we appreciated. I would definitely book her again and recommend her to a friend. Thanks again Haylie!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a New Castle stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New Castle. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
