“Kalliah is so kind,responsible, and reliable. We’ve used her twice now and she goes above and beyond to communicate and takes the best care of our beloved fur babies.”

“Kayla visited our furbabies for yard time while we went out on a date. Kayla was communicative, made sure our babes were well taken care of, and sent us pics immediately after the visit. We are very pleased with the first visit with Kayla ! ☺️”

About: I am a lifelong animal lover, and have owned dogs, birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters and mice. Currently I own 2 cats with my partner named Rebel and Scout. Growing up my family dogs have included lhasa apsos, dandie dinmont terriers, a german shepherd, and a golden lab. I have experience sitting all types of dogs so whether you have a small medium or large dog, i am comfortable with all sizes. I also was an American Kennel Club junior handler for five years and during that time I showed my lhasa apsos. I have assisted with 4 four litters of lhasa puppies and am experienced with house training, puppy training, care etc. If you have any other questions I would be happy to answer them and look forward to the opportunity to become a friend to your precious pets! :) I am currently a homemaker, and am fortunate to have some flexibility! Just let me know the times/days you need. M-F preferred weekends are negotiable! My preference is to take care of pets at clients home. It is difficult to have other animals inside with the cats however I do have a fenced in area in my yard I can offer for them to be in!
“I highly recommend Lila. She did an amazing job with my three cats. She is very diligent and honest. Gustav needs a pill and she was able to give him that. Betty is very timid but she went to Lila. Lila kept me updated with texts and photos everyday. She went above and beyond. I look forward to having Lila take care of my fur babies whenever I travel!”

“Sounds like Kai has a new friend. Thanks for accommodating the earlier start time. Let me know if you have success with her not jumping. It’s her love language but most people don’t care for it. Hoping as she gets more accustomed to her new home, she’ll be able to stay home ithiut the crate but not yet.”

“Amanda was amazing with our two cats! She dropped in to check on them, feed them, clean the box, and give one of our cats medicine. She always stayed to play with them and she went above and beyond to clean up after them. They loved having her around!”

About: Hi there! I'm Erin, a dedicated mother and lifelong animal enthusiast. With a heart full of love for all creatures great and small, I've spent most of my adult life volunteering, fostering, and caring for animals. From dogs to cats and everything in between, I've had the pleasure of nurturing and pampering a wide variety of pets. My journey into pet care started years ago when I began volunteering at local animal shelters and fostering dogs and cats in need. Over time, my passion evolved into a profession, and I've been providing top-notch pet sitting and dog walking services ever since. What sets me apart is the personal touch I bring to every interaction. As a mother, I understand the importance of family, and that includes our beloved pets. That's why I love nothing more than including my own children in our pet visits and walks. Your furry companions not only get the care and attention they deserve but also the joy of interacting with a fun-loving family. Pet care is not just a job for me—it's my passion and my primary focus outside of being a mom and pet owner myself. With my schedule wide open and dedicated solely to pet care, I have the flexibility to tailor my daily and weekly routine to meet the needs of both pets and their owners. Each day, I prioritize spending quality time with the pets under my care, ensuring they receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they need to thrive. I understand that some pets may feel more comfortable in their own crates, and I am more than happy to accommodate those preferences to ensure they feel safe and secure during their stay. Outside of our home, we love to explore and embrace the great outdoors, making long evening walks around neighborhoods or adventures in the woods a regular part of our routine. Whether your pet enjoys a leisurely stroll or prefers a brisk run, we're committed to providing the exercise and stimulation they need to stay happy and healthy. “Nicole was extremely reliable and professional and I will definitely reach out to her again next time I need cat sitter. My elderly cat is sweet, but also a bit moody at times, and Nicole did an amazing job at helping my cat naturally come out of her shell and feel safe. The photo updates Nicole sent were also great and really set my mind at ease.”

About: Hi! I'm a current medical student at UMass Chan looking for a little side gig while helping you leave your pets in safe, responsible, loving company! I have two dogs back home, Millie and Piper, both rescue dogs that have stolen my heart! Having always grown up with dogs (and a cat), I know how hard it can be to leave your pet home and in someone else's care. I'm here to be someone who you can feel comfortable with taking care of your pet! I'm currently in my fourth year of medical school, which means I have lots of free time in between virtual residency interviews! Hence, I am very available for any and all of your pet needs! I am very happy caring for your pet in their own home where they feel safe and comfortable. I love playing with pets, taking them for walks, and of course just giving them some good company!
About: I started caring for my families pets when I was 6 years old. My neighbors were dog grooming from home, with the occasional cat grooming, so I got to get to know a lot of different things about individual breeds. My husband Evan knows how to train dogs and cats to do just about anything. He is also fluent in asl, a musician, and an artist. I love to give pets my full attention and care because it is relaxing to me. I know a lot of veterinarian technicians as well from my time in trade school. I live near Green Hill Park which is a great place to go for a stroll when the weather is nice. I know what pets are asking for and what to do if anything comes up so if you need special care for your pet they will be safe with me. I am currently available weekends and week nights. If my schedules changes I will update my profile with time off in advanced so that there are no miscommunications or cancellations. I can spend time with your pet playing in the yard or home. I walk pets as frequently as their schedule requires. Every pet has unique care needs. I love to care for pets and give them my full attention. Younger pets are full of energy and love to play so I do my best to get all their energy out so they sleep well and stay healthy. I am able to give pets medication or put them in diapers if required by the owner.
About: Hello! My name is Rylee, i currently own two cats but have been a previous owner to a pitbull adopted from my local shelter. My dog was unfortunately abused as a puppy and had some behavioral issues so I am very use to dealing with these types of dogs. Although I have not owned a dog since, I love all my friends and families dogs dearly. I will be more than happy to provide toys or treats your dog enjoys to have fun while away from home! I treat every dog like it’s my own and will always reach out with any questions or concerns while they are in my care. I have frequent experience dog sitting for my aunt’s two dogs, four cats along with taking care of their fish. I also have experience with administering oral and topical medication to dogs that I have pet sat for and following specific feeding routines. Please feel free to message me to talk about caring for your furry friends! I currently work a full time job but that does not stop me from helping out your pets! I will likely do better with an animal that can manage 6-8 hours without being let out during weekdays. Weekends that I have open availability, your pet will get my full attention! I am more than open to staying in the home to help accommodate your pet and make them comfortable while you’re away! I like to stick as close as possible to your average daily routine with your pets to make things easy for you and them! When staying in peoples homes I am very conscious of keeping things clean and tidy and helping out with other things such as watering plants, bringing in the mail, putting out the trash and making sure things are secure as I come and go!
“I’ve used Danielle several times and would recommend her to anyone. She spends a lot of time with my dog/at my house, provides frequent updates, and leaves the house in equal or better shape then when I left it. She follows all instructions related to medicines and anything else. I know my dog is in good hands.”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 13 years old, pet sitting neighbors dogs as well as training them. Many people celebrate how well I train dogs from any age, puppies to older dogs. Old dogs can learn new tricks and I have proven that. I worked at a vet clinic during my highschool years, I know how to take care of senior dogs. If anything were to happen to the dog during my visit I was trained how to deal with it. I am available to watch your pets Sunday-Monday. I cheer sly work two jobs, a pet hotel Wednesdays and Fridays. And I work at a ABA therapy clinic Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On sundays and Mondays I will be available all day for dog walking. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be available anytime after 4pm. I have two dog friendly pups at home so I can always bring them along to pet sit so your dog(s) can have friends to play with. I can easily crate your dog if needed, and can easily provide your pets with meals if needed.
“Jonathan was absolutely wonderful! He watched my two cats for me while I was away for about a week and treated them so well. They warmed up to him immediately which doesn’t usually happen and he made sure to spend good time with them each day for brushing, treats, and general company. I would definitely recommend him!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
