Erica was always prompt for her appointments. She communicated with us daily. I was impressed that she thought about Simon's needs ahead of time - considered how raining days might impact him being outside. I loved the pictures that Erica sent daily. Erica provided excellent care for Simon.

About: Hi! My name is Alicia and I’ve been caring for animals professionally and personally for my whole life. I have 6 years of experience as a veterinary technician, so I’m comfortable with pets of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs—including giving medications, monitoring for health issues, and providing extra TLC when needed. At home, I have two wonderful dogs and a cat who keep life fun and full of love. I’ve also spent the last 3 years fostering pets, helping them feel safe and happy while they wait for their forever homes. I truly love animals and treat every pet I care for like one of my own. Whether your furry friend needs a walk, some playtime, or a cozy place to stay, I’ll make sure they’re cared for like family. I understand how important trust is when it comes to your pets, and I’m here to provide peace of mind while you’re away. I work full-time from 8 AM to 5 PM, but I’m available for early morning, evening, and weekend care. I’m happy to do drop-ins before and after work and can provide overnight care depending on your pet’s needs. With years of experience as a vet tech and a foster, I’m used to managing pet routines around a busy schedule—and I always make sure your pet gets the attention and love they deserve. Whether your pet is staying with me or I’m visiting them in your home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible—including feeding, potty breaks, playtime, medications, and cuddles—because I know consistency is key to helping them feel at ease. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I have three friendly dogs and a cat, and we have a fully fenced yard that gives everyone plenty of safe space to play and explore. I always supervise outdoor time and monitor interactions to ensure everyone gets along and feels secure. I’m happy to accommodate any special needs, including crating, separate feeding areas, or quiet spaces for shy pets. When caring for pets in your home, I respect your space and keep things clean and secure. I’ll send regular updates with photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in caring, capable hands.

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Sara, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the very first meeting, it was clear that she truly cares about dogs and their well-being. Sara took the time to get to know my dogs, Zoey & Buster, and made sure to understand their routine, preferences, and any special needs. Sara did two drop in visits each day & besides providing loving care for my dogs, she watered my plants, brought mail in, and made sure the house was ok. I received regular updates and adorable photos that put my mind at ease. It was evident that Sara provided my senior dogs the human touch they need which left my dogs happy and content when I returned home. I highly recommend Sara to anyone in need of a reliable and caring dog sitter. Her passion for animals and attentive care made all the difference for me and my two senior dogs. Thank you so much for your wonderful service!"

You should absolutely use Hanna for your pet care needs...just not when we need her! :)

I have owned and taken care of several big dogs most of my life to include: a Shepherd, Black Labs, a couple Dachshunds and a full-blooded Catahoula; so I understand the rigours of the exercise that they need. About: Hi there! My name is Lauren. Some helpful things to know about me is that I have 5+ years experience in animal care. I've worked at animal shelters and as a manager at a pet daycare/boarding facility, I also have done pet sitting and dog walking on my own in the past. I've recently moved to the area and want to continue working with animals. I am responsible, reliable and will treat your pets as if they were my own. I love to send lots of updates and pictures so you know your pets are well taken care of. I have just recently moved to Alvarado and left my job at Operation Kindness Humane Society because the commute would of been too long. So my schedule is very open as of right now while I look for another job. I have a large yard, however it is not fully fenced. If you'd like for your pup to come to my house I would walk them to go potty. I also have 2 dogs that are dog friendly so if your pup likes to play they will get along great. My dogs are fully vaccinated and up to date all all shots and preventions. For your baby to stay with me I would need to see vaccination records, just to make sure everyone is safe and healthy. If you'd prefer me to pet sit at your home I am more than happy to do that as well and stay consistent with the daily routine you have with your animals. This is usually my preferred way, as it is less stressful for your animals to be in a familiar environment.

About: I went to college to be a Vet and although I ended up in sales I definitely learned the basics on how to take care of your pet. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and energy levels, from energetic puppies who need structure and training reinforcement to senior dogs who require a little extra patience and care. My background as a vet student also means you can trust me to be consistent, communicative, and professional. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine! 🐾 I’m pivoting from sales into marketing and, while job-hunting, I love spending my time caring for dogs. With a flexible schedule, I can give your pup all the walks, playtime, and snuggles they need. 💕 follow your pet’s routine to keep them happy and stress-free—feeding, walks, playtime, and snuggles included. 🐾 I’ll also keep things tidy and send photo updates so you always know how your pup is doing. 💕

About: I’ve dealt with all types of animals - shy, aggressive, specific needs, and the ones who need extra attention. My family dog and previous pup needed oral medication, shots, and had specific diets. I’m home on weekends for the foreseeable future and will always welcome extra fur babies to my place. Live on acre+ of land and have accessible trails within walking distance as well. Have pool and extra room if your doggo needs their own space while I’m away. Willing to do pop ins for those who work longer hours, welcome fur babies to my house, or give walks during the day. My night schedule allows me plenty of flexibility and always looking for ways to fill my schedule. My dogs love extra roommates. I work nights starting at midnight and usually off by 8:30-9am. I’m off Friday Saturday and go in Sunday night. I don’t go out and love daily walks with my doggos. I have a fenced 1.5acre fenced backyard with access to trails within walking distance. While away I leave my dogs out and they have access to my bed, couch, and spare rooms. If more comfortable can keep them in spare room or kenneled depending on your preference.

About: I’ve always lived with an animal and enjoy taking care and playing with pets. Growing up, I assisted with caretaking for our 3 dogs and I currently own a cat, Stella, who is my baby. I’m currently a grad student at Tarleton with mostly online classes so I have plenty of time to play and care for your pet! I only have classes on Monday and Tuesday and they only last 4 hours each so I have a flexible schedule! I have a sweet cat and we live in a tiny home right outside of Stephenville. I own plenty of cat and dog toys, and have access to a small fenced yard for dogs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 545 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Nemo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Nemo stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nemo. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
