“Lily is so wonderful with my pups. This is the second time I have used her for drop in visits and will definitely use her again. She takes great care of them and makes sure that their favorite cartoons are on when she leaves. Thank you so much for taking great care of my babies!”

“From start to finish, everything was seamless and stress-free. Debbie was professional, responsive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. She kept me updated with daily photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. When I returned, my dogs were happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. Thanks so much Debbie!!!!!”

“We are new to the area and don't leave our cats very much, and Melissa was lovely. She consistently checked in with our cats at the same time every day and they really enjoyed playing with her. One of our cats doesn't interact with new people and she takes medication with her food, and Melissa respected her space but also checked on her when I asked to make sure she was okay (she's on the older side). All of our cats have very different personalities, and it was clear that Melissa appreciated all of them for who they are! We knew they were well taken care of while we were away.”

“Katie has exceeded all expectations watching our cats while we were out of the country. Our animals are happy and looking forward to seeing her again. She takes the time to meet your fur baby and minimize the stress of being away from home. Thank you Katie !”

“Hannah was amazing with getting my shy cat to finally open up to her after a few visits! She even practiced some tricks he knew (sit, paw) as well as start teaching him a new trick. Can’t recommend her enough!”

“Super fantastic! She went out of her way to check on my baby and made sure I had pictures even though she was hiding under our building ? we will definitely be rebooking again soon!”

“Karenna has been taking care of my dogs while I am working nights. She is always on time and treats my boys wonderful. She is also great with communicating and sending photos. I would highly recommend Karenna to take care of your babies!!”

“Jacqueline was great. She was attentive, detail oriented, and provided plenty of thorough updates on my cat Lou’s well-being. I can’t express how much stress was relieved knowing Lou was in her care. Thanks Jacqueline!”

About: I have raised dogs from puppies to elderly. I enjoy checking in, feeding, brushing & taking your pup on at least 1 walk a day if desired. I do work local to Nederland, full time therefore I’m free morning, lunch (typically between 1:30-2:30) and evenings for locals. Free anytime on the weekends. I have a clear background and I welcome cameras in and around your home for your protection and mine. Privacy of your home along with the safety of your pets is a top priority.
About: I’ve grown up with at least 3 dogs in my house my whole life. Numbers and pet types have varied through time (more or less dogs, hamsters, tortoises, cats, etc.) but my family has always called me the “animal whisperer”. Since I was young, friends, family, neighbors, and many others have trusted me to be a pet nanny to their variety of pets, and it’s been an absolute privilege and such a joyful experience! I have a couple of jobs with flexible schedules. I cannot do Tuesday evenings and weekends are less flexible. Mornings and afternoons work perfect if you need me to stop by and check on your fur baby or take them on a walk! I don’t often care for animals in my own home unless it’s in a small cage (a hamster or hedgehog, for example) due to having my own cat there, but I’ve been trusted in and with many others homes. Not just for taking care of their pets during the day or overnight, but also tend to their home while they’re gone- collecting mail, newspaper, taking out trash, etc.
“I can not explain how much I LOVE Mya! She is wonderful. Takes extra care, is very responsive and communicative and always shows up on time and takes the cutest photos of my fur baby!!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Nederland
I was apprehensive about leaving my boys with a stranger because they've only known me and my family. Liliana was PHENOMENAL! She stayed in constant communication with me and sent frequent updates with photos. The cats took to her immediately and even got comfy enough to lay in her lap. She was so attentive to their needs and even left gifts for all our kitties. I can not speak highly enough of her! I would highly recommend her for your own pets since she will treat them like the family members they are.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
