Lauren is great! I've had Lauren as a repeat sitter both for overnight stays and for drop in's and I highly recommend. Lauren is great with both dogs - one of which is a bit shier and harder to get to know. Lauren is consistent and reliable!

Heather is an absolute gem and after how well she did we will be using her for all of our future pet care needs. When we met her our dogs immediately loved her and so did we. She is easy to talk to and had no problem accommodating our dogs special needs. We were gone for about a week and during that time I got consistent updates and photos of our animals. Whenever I messaged her to check on them she was immediately responsive. She left our house just the way she found it and our animals were all very loved and well cared for. I know it is always scary leaving your animals in the care of someone you don't know but we trusted our gut on Heather and we are so glad we did.

So happy to have met Anne through Rover. She is a very kind and caring person. It’s obvious that she enjoys what she does and truly cares about animals. She sent great pictures and kept us appraised of how things were going. When we got home the house was in perfect condition. It was a great experience!

Bridget was awesome. She arrived exactly when she was supposed to. I left her a note with instructions. She texted me when she arrived. She sent me pictures of my ding dong. She was even able to stay later, then asked because I could not make it home in time. I came home not only to find a happy dog but a clean house and a beautiful sketch of my dog's face on the countertop. I will definitely use her again.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have always loved caring for them! I’ve pet sat for many families, including stays up to two weeks. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with medications, special needs, and neurological conditions, and always treat every pup like my own. Currently a college student with a mix of online and in-person classes, giving me a consistent and flexible schedule for pet care. I’m consistently available throughout the day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with additional availability depending on my class schedule. I live in a condo with access to a community dog park and plenty of outdoor space. I have a friendly 3-year-old Bernadoodle named Milo, and I also have a large crate available if needed.

Brittany helped us in a pinch and was so good with our Great Dane, Rosemary. We appreciated her responsiveness and all the photos and videos she sent of their time together. She clearly has a genuine love for dogs and knows how to care for them. We came home to a happy and relaxed pup and couldn't be more grateful. Rose made a new friend, and we look forward to using her services again. We highly recommend Brittany to anyone looking for a thoughtful and reliable dog sitter!

We had an excellent experience with our house/pet sitter, Gordon. I was nervous having a stranger in our home and with our pets, but from the start, he was great at communicating with me. That continued while we were away with daily texts and photos. It put our minds at ease knowing they were being taken care of so well. We came home to happy pets and a spotless house. He even went out of his way to schedule things around our dog who requires special attention and medication. Would definitely book again.

About: I have a love for animals big and small. I enjoy exploring and making new experiences with animals. I have experience with elderly and medical needs animals. I work as a nanny and have sometimes weeks off and would love to have an animal to take care of and take places with me. I have a house with 13 acres, for dogs that are not recall trained I use a 10 ft leash and always make sure leases are on before the door opens. I have a separate room for my own animals that way if rabbits or cats are meet with aggression all animals will be safe.

Reese took exceptionally good care of our dog and house while we were on vacation this summer. When our travel schedule was altered last minute, Reese was very flexible and accommodating. While she was here she gave Cosworth his meds without any problems or complaints. And most importantly, Cosworth liked her! Reese is very conscientious and takes her Rover assignments seriously. We recommend Reese without reservation, and hope she’ll come back to take care of Cosworth for us again.

About: Hello! My name is Keirsten and I have over 6 years professional experience in the pet care industry. I have worked in doggy daycares, veterinary offices, and I’m currently a dog groomer. Pets are my one true passion in life, and I love each and every one like they are my own. My years in the pet care industry have made me knowledgeable and confident in my abilities to properly care for your fur baby, safety and comfort will always be my #1 priority. I am well prepared for anything your pet may throw at me, whether it’s an anxious 100lb German shepherd, a spicy 5lb chihuahua, a neurotic German Shorthaired Pointer (like my own baby at home!), a senior spicy kitty who takes daily injections, etc! I am also trained in CRP for both canines and felines, and trained in oral and injection medications. No pet is too big, too small, too crazy, or too old:) I am currently working as a dog groomer, so my schedule varies. Most days I am off by 5pm, but some days is 7pm. I can always offer boarding in my salon (if your pet is comfortable in the environment) if you want your pet with me 24/7:) Unfortunately, I do not offer services in my home. However, with my 5 year experience in professional pet care, I have the knowledge to recognize when your pet is scared, hungry, happy, angry, sad, fearful, playful, etc and I know how to handle each and every unique situation. For example; your pet is playful, so we play! Your pet is fearful, so we take it slow and be sure to not cross any boundaries. Your pet is tired, so we cuddle! Etc.

About: I've taken care of all kinds of animals since I was ten, I even have 5 of my own, so I'm experienced in behaviors, grooming, and administering medications if they're needed. I can do overnight stays and check ins during the day. I can do fill day stay overs, but will need a few days notice to make it work. Im very big on slow introductions and making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable around me. My own dog and cats are rescues so I know how nervous new introductions and new people can make animals.

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 10 years old! I have owned several German Shepards and cats. I have my own puppy, he is a rescue Husky from the shelter. So, I am very familiar with puppy tendencies and home training! My family dog, is now quite old so I have also been learning to care for senior dogs and their unique needs as well! I am very active and outgoing and truly enjoy spending time with all animals. I would love to watch and care for you pets! I just recently graduated from Michigan State University and I am studying and applying to law school this fall! I am pretty flexible so feel free to reach out any time! I am not offering any dog watching/sitting out of my own home. Although, any time a pet is in my care, I will look after it as my own!

About: Hello! My name is Leila (pronounced Layla), and I am 25 years old. I am looking for a role as a pet provider of any fashion needed. I consider myself a kind, nurturing, and supportive individual who loves every pet or family member as if they were my own. With over 15 years of pet experience, I have worked in shelter facilities and lots of individual homes with many different pets. Most recently, I've been providing nanny services for date nights in my area and every house has one or more fur baby that I spend my time with. I am familiar with feedings, walking, medication techniques, and even one house I sometimes help take their dog to the vet with them! I have worked with cats, dogs, ducks, chickens, rabbits, turkeys, and when I was younger, I had a house with horses as well. I've worked with up to 6 dogs at once, all big/energetic dogs, so I know how to handle big and loving energy haha! I even know cat and dog CPR from learning online and doing research on my own in case I ever need it. I love learning new facts about animals and pets, and I definitely love to learn the basics of emergency situations and care too, which always comes in handy whether you need it or not. I would love the opportunity to get to know you and your pet(s), building a special bond and friendship with everyone involved. I strive to be a dependable person and always aim to provide my best support to others. Hope to hear back from you soon, thank you for your time! I usually have an open schedule and I’m always happy to help however and whenever. I’m usually at home with my own animals anyways so I’m always down for more fuzzy cuddles! I treat each and every animal as if they were my own (and I spoil my pets like crazy)! I follow the instructions of each family down to a T if that’s what needs to be done and if there is any room for my own input or festivities, I always try to make it more fun or loving or easier for everyone involved. Pets have emotion and feelings just as much as babies do, so if you’re going to care for any animal, treat it as if you’re raising a baby, something precious and sweet, because that’s what they are.

FAQs for House Sitting - Napoleon

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 590 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Napoleon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Napoleon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Napoleon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Napoleon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Napoleon. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
