Isabella is really good with dogs. She did a great job! She kept my husband and I updated. Sent pics and texts. Very knowledgeable made me actually enjoy my trip knowing Tyson & Cooper were in good hand. House was in clean when we got home, she went ahead and made sure everything was good. Highly recommend. About: I have been helping care for our dogs my entire life but I’m really only counting since I was 10. I’m not sure if I would count earlier as helping lol. I would dog sit for family, friends, and coworkers too. I always make sure they are happy and feed. Along with making sure all their energy is out too. I will follow all food instructions that they have. I have given dogs pills before if they require them. I have limited experience with both elderly dogs and puppies, however I am willing to learn what they will need from me. I do work full time but I have an hour lunch where I can run back to let them out. I work from 8-4 so if they don’t need to be let out during the day I will let them out immediately once I get back. I do not do much on the weekends so weekends will be spent with furry friends. I will care for your pet in your home and make it as close as to their routine as possible. I have walked dogs on a leash and have good control. If they do not eat human food they will not be given human food. I always stick to the portions that I am told when feeding them too. If I have a concern about one of the furry friends I will contact you immediately to see what you would like me to do.

Amanda stayed at our home for 6 days with our Honey Girl while we were away on vacation. She kept in touch with updates, pictures, and even video chats. We knew our girl was in good hands which made our trip more enjoyable. Amanda also had our home like it was when we left which was much appreciated.

About: As an experienced dog foster, I have cared for more than 25 dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, representing a wide variety of breeds and sizes. In addition, I was the proud owner of four dogs who each lived long, happy lives and reached their senior years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the important role pets play as beloved members of the family. As a school teacher, I enjoy a very flexible schedule during the summer months and would love the opportunity to support families who need a safe, loving temporary home for their four-legged companions. Whether your pet needs overnight care, companionship during the day, or some extra exercise and attention, I am committed to providing the same level of care and affection that I would give my own dogs. As a teacher, I am currently on summer break, so I have availability daily throughout the week for play sessions and dog walks. I am also available for multi-night lodging. When you’re here, you’re family. Any animal under my care will be treated as one of my own. But with me, you get a whole family who are all trained in caring for dogs and cats, as each member of the household has been involved with fostering pups and raising kitties. The second floor of the house is separated by a door at the top of the stairs to allow separation between feline and canine friends if needed. Daily photos and FaceTime are available. We have multiple-sized dog crates if crating is requested. Although we may be new faces to your four legged companions, we will try to keep consistency in the rules you have at your home. If they are allowed on your couch, then they will be here. Feeding schedule will be dictated by how they ate at home. Walks will be frequent and there is a huge box of dog toys and cat toys to keep them entertained.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and absolutely love caring for them! Over the years, I’ve watched and walked pets for family members, friends, and neighbors, gaining experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. Whether it’s going for walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I always make sure each pup feels loved, safe, and cared for like they’re my own. I work from home full-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend lots of time with the pets in my care throughout the day. I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, attention, and companionship while they’re in a comfortable environment. I also genuinely enjoy long walks in my personal time, so I’d love to have a furry friend join me for some extra exercise and enrichment! I work from home, which gives me flexibility throughout the day to provide reliable care and accommodate many scheduling needs. I’m available for morning, midday, evening, and weekend drop-in visits and dog walks. If I accept your booking, you can count on me to arrive on time, communicate consistently, and give your pet the attention and care they deserve. If you have a specific schedule in mind, feel free to reach out, I’m happy to discuss accommodations whenever possible! When caring for pets, safety and trust are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special needs to make sure they feel comfortable and secure. Whether I’m in my home or a client’s, I maintain a calm, clean, and pet friendly environment. I always double check that leashes, doors, and gates are secure, and I keep a close eye on pets during walks or playtime. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and cared for.

About: Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I am a local high school teacher enjoying summer break and looking to spend my extra time caring for animals. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently care for three dogs, two cats, a rabbit, and a blue tongue skink, and I have experience with many other types of pets as well. My dogs actively compete in agility, scent work, Fast CAT, and dock diving, so I am comfortable working with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and energy levels. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines. Whether your pet needs a walk, feeding, medication, playtime, or simply some extra attention while you're away, I will care for them as if they were my own. As a teacher, I am dependable, organized, and responsible. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when leaving your pets in someone else's care, and I will provide updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and safe. I have experience with: Dogs Cats Rabbits Reptiles Small animals Senior pets High-energy dogs Multi-pet households I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I currently care for three dogs, two cats, a rabbit, a snake, and a blue tongue skink, so feeding, exercise, cleaning, and spending quality time with animals are part of every day. During the summer, I have a very flexible schedule as a teacher on break, which allows me to provide visits throughout the day, walks, feeding, playtime, and overnight care. During the school year, I continue offering pet care services, but I am unavailable during the school day while teaching. However, I am available before and after school, evenings, weekends, holidays, and for overnight stays. I enjoy staying active with my own dogs through activities like agility, scent work, Fast CAT, and dock diving, so caring for pets fits naturally into my lifestyle. I understand how important routines are for animals and will work to keep your pet's schedule as consistent as possible while you're away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay on their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow all instructions carefully regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, exercise, and household routines. I take time to get to know each pet's personality and comfort level so they feel safe and relaxed while their family is away. Safety is always a priority. I make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure, keep pets on leash during walks unless otherwise instructed in a safe enclosed area, and closely monitor their behavior and well-being. I am comfortable caring for multiple pets and have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, and other small animals. I also know how important communication is for pet owners. I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are being well cared for while you're away. As a pet owner myself, I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to provide dependable, loving care that keeps them happy, comfortable, and safe.

This was my first time using Rover and having someone I didn’t know dog/house sit. Alissia was super sweet! She came over before our trip so we could have her meet our dog and show her around the house. She was very communicative throughout her stay! She kept us updated each day, asked questions when necessary, and even survived the daylight savings time change (IYKYK!). We came home to three happy dogs, so I couldn’t ask for more. FAQs for House Sitting - Myerstown

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Myerstown on Rover is $37.45 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 836 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Myerstown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Myerstown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Myerstown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Myerstown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Myerstown. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
