Janna took wonderful care of our dog for almost 9 days! Our dog has medical needs that require administering medications and lots of patience, and Janna was up to the task. She provided frequent updates, was attentive to small details from the moment we met her, and wasn’t afraid to ask any questions if something came up about our dog’s care that we hadn’t discussed. Janna also stayed over in our apartment, and the place was left in great shape when we returned. Before housesitting, Janna met us for a meet-and-greet, and she was very kind and professional throughout. We would highly recommend Janna to others looking for pet care and plan to use her again in the future!

About: Hi! I’m a dedicated dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages. I started by helping care for my elderly neighbor’s dog as a teenager, and since then I’ve dog sat for friends and family throughout college. I’ve also grown up with dogs and have had my own for the past 3 years. I understand how important it is to keep pets safe, happy, and comfortable, and I’ll treat your dog like my own. I work full time during the week but I’m free all day Saturdays and Sundays. I am also available during weekday evenings for walks or drop ins. I live in an apartment and we have a dog park and there’s a trail right behind the building that my dog loves. I also have a lot of toys and treats in my home.

Kay was awesome with our boys Alan and Jaxson! She sent pictures to us daily and gave updates on how they were doing. Dogs really liked her. She left the house as if we never left. Thank you so much. Most definitely will be using Kay for our future Rover inquiries.

Olivia did such an amazing job taking care of our cats while we were out of town! She went above and beyond to make sure Blackjack got his medicine despite his best efforts to avoid it, and she even shoveled our stairs when a snowstorm hit. We would definitely choose her to cat sit for us again and would highly recommend her!

I seriously cannot say enough good things about Megan! I was SO nervous about leaving my dogs, especially because they’re big girls and I’m very particular about who I trust with them. Megan completely eased my mind. She sent me pictures and updates EVERY single day, and seeing my girls happy and comfortable made such a huge difference. I was able to actually enjoy my trip knowing they were safe and being cared for by someone who genuinely cared about them. Megan was patient, dependable, and amazing with my girls. Coming home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs confirmed that I made the right choice. I will absolutely be using her again. If you’re nervous about trusting someone with your dogs, Megan is the person you want! 🐾❤️

About: I live on a farm back home & have over a decade of animal care of all kinds! I have many farm cats and two dogs at home, as well as two cats that live with me! I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages and sizes & would love to spend time with your best friend! I would especially love to hang out with dogs as I don’t want to get my own until I can give them a fenced in yard:) My boyfriend Gabe also helps out with the pet care! I am pretty free all summer & I can give as much or as little attention as your pet requires! I’m available to do random walks throughout the day or stay full time at your residence to give 24/7 care to your pet. I would like to follow your routine as much as possible, so honestly whatever you do with your pet I will copy! It’s important to keep their routines from changing frequently!

About: A Lifetime of Loving Animals 🐾 Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I had lots of dogs of my own, so I know firsthand how much our pets mean to us and how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with them. For 7 years, I also worked on a farm caring for a variety of animals. That experience taught me patience, responsibility, and how to recognize that every animal has their own personality, needs, and comfort level. I’ll treat your pet like they’re part of my own family—with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care. My goal is simple: to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. 🐶❤️ Evenings & Weekends Filled With Pets 🐾 I currently work full-time as an Assistant Manager, so I’m looking to spend my evenings and weekends doing something I truly love—caring for animals! My work schedule gives me the flexibility to dedicate my free time to providing pets with the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. After growing up with dogs and spending 7 years working on a farm with a variety of animals, caring for pets has always been something I genuinely enjoy. I’d love the opportunity to make your pet’s day a little happier while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in caring, responsible hands. 🐶❤️ Caring for Pets in Their Happy Place 🐾 I currently work full-time as an Assistant Manager, and I’m looking to fill my evenings and weekends doing what I truly love—caring for animals! I’ll be providing care in your home, which means your pets can stay comfortable in their familiar surroundings and stick to their normal routines while you’re away. My evenings and weekends allow me to dedicate quality time to walks, playtime, feeding, companionship, and whatever else your pet needs. Having grown up with dogs and spent 7 years working on a farm with a variety of animals, I’m comfortable caring for animals with different personalities and needs. My goal is to give your pets the same love and attention I would give my own while giving you peace of mind that they’re in good hands. 🐶❤️

Amanda is great with my kiddos. Given we have a highly reactive dog, Amanda has made great strides with developing a closer connection and has been rewarded with Shelby loves. Highly recommend Amanda and will book again with her.

Drew was absolutely amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our three dogs while we were on vacation. From the moment we connected, he was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. He made sure our dogs were taken out regularly, kept them on their routine, and truly treated them like his own. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. Drew stayed overnight each night, which meant the dogs were comfortable and our home was well cared for too. On top of that, he kept the house in excellent condition, honestly, we came back to everything just as we left it (if not better!). He was also very responsive and kept us updated with messages and photos, which we really appreciated while we were away. It’s clear Drew genuinely cares about animals and goes above and beyond for the families he works with. We’re so grateful for the care he provided and would absolutely trust him again in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for someone reliable, respectful, and truly great with pets, I highly recommend booking Drew, you won’t regret it!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Muscatine on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 232 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Muscatine. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Muscatine walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Muscatine maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Muscatine choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Muscatine. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
