“Tucker had a great stay with Maribel yesterday while I was getting surgery! Maribel insisted he reach a state of calm upon arrival before he was allowed to enter her premises, as well as before being returned to me. She’s had some excellent training handling dogs and she doesn’t tolerate rude, impulsive behavior.”

“Thank you Hugh and Mary for loving Jack and Sandy as your own dogs. They had so much fun, loved the yard and the snow track, and they came home tired every day. We enjoyed all the pictures and videos. We will be calling you again next time we need a dog sitter. ❤️?”

“Alexis was an absolutely amazing caretaker I would 100% book with her again and probably will do so in the near future. The amount of care, dedication and attention left me feeling so relieved that my two pups were in great hands even if one of my pups was a bit skittish and had boundaries with strangers it was clear he was able to relax in her home. She took plenty of pictures and her notes were so detailed I felt completely sure that they were having a great time. They had plenty of long walk’s, enrichment activities and made sure they were fed well and full. Its clear she has a great skill set that allows her to understand dog behavior exceptionally that makes her perfect for taking care of your pups, I was able to learn even more about my pups during their stay with Alexis. Cant recommend enough!”

“Jayne and Gary cared for Lupe like he was their own—something that meant the world to us, especially since he’s a senior dog who needs a little extra support. He wasn’t feeling his best during the stay, but they were so patient and proactive in making sure he was comfortable and cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Lupe was with people who genuinely cared about his well-being. We’re so grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to book again!”

About: Caring for animals is my calling in life! I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Humboldt State University. As a dedicated veterinary technician and docent for the Big Bear Zoo, I have the privilege of providing exceptional care to a wide range of animals and pets. My commitment to the wellbeing of all animals goes beyond just a job; it's a lifelong passion! I'm currently working full time at an emergency animal hospital off the mountain. However, I work double shifts to allow myself some days off during the week and look forward to making some new furry friends! Caring for pets in a client's home is a responsibility I take very seriously, ensuring their comfort, safety, and happiness while their owners are away. My approach to in-home pet care includes: Meet and Greet: I begin by meeting with the client and their pet(s) to establish a rapport and understand their specific needs and routines. Feeding and Hydration: I adhere to the provided feeding schedule, ensuring that pets receive the right amount of food and fresh water. Special dietary requirements are noted and followed diligently. Exercise and Play: Regular exercise and playtime are essential for a pet's physical and mental well-being. I engage in activities tailored to the pet's age and energy level, whether it's a spirited game of fetch or a leisurely walk. Medication and Health Monitoring: If the pet requires medication or has specific health needs, I administer treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. I also monitor their overall health and report any concerns to the owner promptly. Grooming and Cleanliness: Maintaining the pet's cleanliness is a priority. I provide necessary grooming, including brushing, bathing, and litter box cleaning, to ensure they are comfortable and hygienic. Affection and Companionship: Pets often thrive on companionship and affection. I spend quality time with them, offering cuddles, petting, and positive reinforcement to alleviate any separation anxiety. Security and Home Care: I maintain the security of the client's home by ensuring all doors and windows are locked, and I handle any mail or packages. This gives clients peace of mind while they're away. Daily Updates: Regular communication with the client is crucial. I provide daily updates through texts, photos, or videos to keep them informed about their pet's well-being and activities. Emergency Preparedness: I am trained, experienced and prepared for unexpected situations, including medical emergencies. I have contact information for the client's preferred veterinarian and am beyond qualified for basic pet first aid. Respect for Property: I treat the client's home with the utmost respect, leaving it as clean and tidy as I found it. Overall, my goal is to create a stress-free and nurturing environment for pets in the client's home, allowing them to thrive in their familiar surroundings while their owners are away.
