I couldn’t recommend Erica enough! I had a last minute out of town trip, and she was happy to accommodate. When we met, it was clear she genuinely loves animals and knew exactly how to care for my pup. She provided regular updates and pictures of all the fun Norman and the other pups were having. He is a high energy dog, and her place was the perfect spot for him to get out and exercise! She truly went above and beyond and I will definitely be booking with her again in the future. Thank you, Erica, for taking care of Norman while I was away!

About: I have been caring for other families animals since I was 10! I have always had a passion for all animals. We have had dogs in the home and outside since I was 5! I am also a huge advocate of rescues and experienced with all breeds! I work from home and I have a pretty flexible schedule. This allows for me to pet sit animals as on the side as a hobby and for extra income. I will handle your animals as if they were my own! Whatever your typical routine is, I will strive to do as well. To the best of my ability!

Cheyanne took great care of my 11 year old lab. Sent me pictures and kept me updated while I was away missing my baby. Definitely helped ease my mind and she always returned my messages within an hour. I could tell my dog was happy to be there and she loved playing with the other dogs. 10/10 would recommend Cheyanne

About: As a first responder, I’m very comfortable around K9s and understand the importance of patience, consistency, awareness, and responsible handling around animals. I also have two dogs of my own, Millie, a Vizsla, and Aksel, a German Shepherd. I’ve had Millie her entire life, and Aksel came to us as a rescue about a year ago. When we first brought Aksel home, he needed extra patience, structure, and training, and we’ve worked with him consistently to help him become the happy, well-tempered dog he is today. I genuinely love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, working with them, and helping them learn. I work as a first responder, so my schedule is different from a traditional Monday–Friday schedule. I have set days off that allow me to offer pet care, and I primarily schedule boarding on my days off so I can give your pet plenty of attention and supervision. I also offer dog walking and drop-in visits when my schedule allows. I keep my availability updated and am happy to communicate ahead of time to make sure your pet’s needs fit my schedule. I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely get outside for exercise and play. I have two dogs of my own, a Vizsla and a German Shepherd, who are part of my household. Before boarding, I’m happy to discuss your dog’s temperament, comfort level, and how they do around other dogs. I can use indoor movable pet gates/kennels to safely separate dogs when needed, whether for feeding, rest, or simply giving them their own space. I always prioritize safety and will follow your pet’s normal routine, feeding instructions, and any special care needs.

Karyssa & Michael provided a 10/10 stay for Meijor! I needed someone on a last minute notice to watch him and they were there for me. Karyssa was very nice and accommodating! She gave Meijor plenty of attention and play time throughout the day. What I appreciated most Maryssa was the constant pictures and updates throughout Meijor’s stay. Whether it was after a walk or play time she kept us up to date on how he was doing. She really treated Meijor like her own! Will 100% be using them again and would recommend them to anyone!

We recently took a vacation with all of our family members who are usually come and take care of our dogs. We have two red Siberian huskies who have never been separated and have always been at home. Anyone who knows about huskies knows they are not easy dogs to say the least. That coupled with the fact that both of them are not fixed. So there’s all the exaggerated attitude and emotion that goes along with that. Our female his passive aggressive and our mail can only be described as a furry angle grinder. We were worried to leave our dogs with anyone. We found Taylor and her husband on rover saw the five star reviews so we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed, Taylor and Trent made us feel very comfortable and gave us constant updates and sent us pictures every day of our four day vacation I can’t tell you how much it means to have our furry children watched by someone who loves animals

About: I have over 15 years of experience caring for both cats and dogs, offering reliable, loving, and attentive care. From daily walks and playtime to feeding, grooming, and administering basic medications, I treat every pet as if they were my own. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I pride myself on creating a safe, nurturing environment where they feel happy and cared for. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine because animals have always been a part of my life. I’m used to planning my mornings and evenings around walks, feeding, and playtime, and I enjoy building that consistency into my week. Whether it’s daily check-ins, longer stays, or weekend walks, I make sure caring for pets is a reliable and joyful part of my schedule. In my home, I provide a safe, clean, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I make sure they have regular feeding times, fresh water, daily walks or play, and lots of affection. I also keep their routines as close as possible to what they’re used to, so they feel secure. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I follow the instructions provided closely — whether that’s specific feeding schedules, administering medications, or sticking to a particular walking route. I always keep the home tidy, respect the client’s space, and send regular updates and photos so they know their pets are happy and cared for.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 15 years and genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your dog loves long walks, hiking, playing fetch, or just relaxing with company, I’m happy to match their energy and routine. As someone who is very active, I enjoy giving high-energy dogs the exercise and attention they need, but I’m just as comfortable caring for senior dogs who need a slower pace and extra patience. I provide dependable drop-in visits, walks, overnight sitting, feeding, medication if needed, lots of affection, and regular photo updates so you always know your pet is happy and safe. I treat every dog like they’re my own because I know how important peace of mind is when you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my schedule because I have a flexible work routine. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and pet sitting throughout the week, including weekends when needed. I enjoy staying active, so long walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime are some of my favorite parts of caring for dogs. I’ll always do my best to work around your pet’s routine so they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, I’ll follow their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special instructions. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure, so I’ll treat them like family while respecting your home as if it were my own. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is in caring, dependable hands.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Mount Airy home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
