“Marlin was wonderful, he kept me updated with plenty of pictures and my little guy showed that he felt extremely safe and comfortable there. We will absolutely be returning clients. Thank you so much, Marlin!”
“Another fabulous time under your care! It was so hard to leave our fur babies & feel secure while away from our cats but knowing you're there makes it easy! We know you will give them play time, food time and keep the house clean. I cannot thank you enough.”
“We ssooo appreciated Jordan going above and beyond for our Akira, and also watching out for our stray kitty we feed, Calico. We felt Akira was in good hands, and it made our trip so much better not having to worry about her. We also really appreciated her keeping the area surrounding her litter box tidy and swept. We would highly recommend Jordan! 🥰”
“Kaydin was amazing with my boy Baxter. I trusted her in my home which is hard to say in this world today. Highly recommended dogsitter/drop in dog caregiver or any animal for that matter.”
“Alexandria helped us out with a last minute need and took fantastic care of our three cats when we needed her to host them. She was kind, attentive, and well prepared. Will definitely call on her again next time we need.”
About: I have had pets my whole life. I currently have a cowboy corgi. I have also pet sat friends dogs and mini pigs! I'm ready to treat your family like my family. I work full time second shift at the local sheriff department as a dispatcher. My dog is not crated during this time. I do come home on my hour lunch break and let her out and play with her. I have a tie out for potty breaks and a large house to run around. Also visits to the dog park or tractor supply for a bath and some treats.
“Kari is so sweet and was the best sitter we have had. She watched our four cats for a week and made sure they were very happy. The updates were incredible. She played with all the cats and even did a little extra for us. It was so awesome because my cats can be a bit skittish, but they all LOVED her! I will absolutely be using her again and would recommend her to anyone!”
“Samantha was so awesome with our cats! She really went above and beyond to make sure they were taken care of and comfortable with her. We received excellent communication about how they interacted, ate, played etc. and of course got lots of pictures. Definitely will be booking with her again for any future trips!”
“My cat is an old lady who requires early morning medication every day. I’ve booked Taylor twice, each on a weekend where I requested she drop in by 7:30. Taylor came and made sure my girl was properly medicated and hung out with and gave her love. I appreciate Taylor for being willing to come by fairly early on a weekend. My girl has only been on this medication since May and it’s been a transition to make sure she’s cared for on a fairly strict schedule. Having Taylor come by has given me a bit more help when I can’t be home! She has always been very responsive and I will definitely book her again! Thanks, Taylor!”
“Samantha was wonderful with both of our kitties! Even our scaredy cat was happily interacting and playing with her, which is miraculous! She kept us updated and sent tons of pictures, and we’ve already booked with her again!”
“Tereasa is great with our dogs! She is reliable and a great communicator. She lets you know how the drop in visit went and provides plenty of pictures of her visit. Highly recommended!!”
“Bryanna went above and beyond in helping take care of our 4 cats while we were out of town for 4 days. She was attentive to the cats, communicated with us really well, and was very reliable. And she had no issues giving oral medication and eye drops, which is a huge plus! I definitely feel less anxious about leaving town now and would book her again if she's free the next time we go away.”
“Very attentive and careful while walking my husky that hasn’t always been well behaved on a leash. He even tried working with her to reduce her pulling. Gave her all the attention she needed when she was missing her family! Would absolutely use him again and recommend him to friends and family.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
