“Maria was absolutely wonderful with my two kitties! One requires oral pills and one requires insulin shots. Maria learned their routine quickly and took amazing care of them. I have never had a stranger watch my cats before, and my cats are like my own children, so when I went overboard and made her a manual on how to take care of them, she didn’t make me feel like a crazy cat mom and was grateful and that I wrote out everything for her. She was punctual and did everything asked of her. I came home after a week long trip to two happy and healthy kitties!”

About: I've owned both dogs and cats sense I was little. Throughout my childhood years I would frequently watch over the neighborhood pets. I am especially great at training the little ones as well as entertaining and exercising the energetic type! I currently work part time and am looking to fill some days with something else. When I’m not working I am home taking care of my own dog and doing chores around the house, with plenty of time and energy to take care of whatever furry friend stays with us! I have a house with a fenced backyard, with room for both small and large dogs to run around. My own dog is very friendly and loves to make friends and spend the day wrestling and playing around!
About: I have plenty of experience owning all different sized dogs including two great Danes, I have experience working in a vet clinic. I have 2 dogs, Keida & Rue. I love them with my whole heart! I have a great passion for animals and promise to deliver the utmost care for your pet, as if it were my own. I currently am required at home so my availability is open! Please consider me to take care of your precious babies! I am currently needed at home so I have open availability to take care of any and all pets, whether it’s a quick drop in to let them out for potty/feed them when you are at work. Or scheduled visits for a weekend away. I am very accommodating with plenty of pet care experience. I can work with your pets in any sort of environment and ensure they are cared for properly

About: Hi everybody! My name is Landri and I am a fur mom, aunt, sister, friend, and god-mom to many fur babes. I grew up with indoor and outdoor cats and dogs my whole life and have always had a love for animals and their unique personalities 💕 I currently have a fur baby named Denver who is a half lab/half golden, and he is 90 pounds of love & a little bit spoiled (judging by the amount of treats & toys in our house that he would love to share)! He loves all animals and would be happy to help me take care and have fun with your fur babies. Aside from having my own dogs and cats, I have helped to take care of my family’s, friends, and co-workers pets over the years. I have a big yard that will give your pet(s) plenty of room to run and play and am happy to accommodate to any needs they have. Having a fur baby myself, I understand the importance of having someone who will be reliable and treat your pet like their own. I will happily send photos and updates daily so you don’t miss them too much and know they are in the best hands. I do work during the day (M-F), but my boyfriend who is also a pet lover works a swing shift and has 4-5 day breaks and/or a mostly opposite schedule from myself. I have cared for pets of all sizes and breeds and love each and every one! I look forward to meeting you and your loved fur babes!
“Patience was a lifesaver when I needed a last minute drop in for my diabetic dog! She was professional and followed all his special requirements. She sent me pictures and updates so I could enjoy my evening away. I highly recommend Patience!”

About: I’m not sure that there’s one specific thing that would set me apart from other caregivers however, my best buddy Trouble crossed the rainbow bridge in February. Trouble was a 13 year old Weimaraner that my daughters & I rescued during Covid. Currently, Im not ready to be a dog mom just yet but I am ready to fill the empty space in my heart! I miss having a fur baby to walk with & playing in the yard. I have experience with large breeds , rescues, and seniors. I do work a full-time job Monday through Friday but I work a hybrid schedule & on the weekends I am an early riser so I could start as early as 5 AM. I am soon to be an empty nester and recently lost my fur baby. I am looking to keep busy with some new free time! In my clients home, I will care for their animals just as they do & keeping with their routine. If their dog needs belly rubs , quiet time, snuggling time & playing with & walking, I will do it all!

About: I have taken care of both dogs and cats for family, neighbors, and friends for the last 6-7 years. I have more experience with dogs— ranging from all sizes and ages, however I love cats and never say no to a feline friend as well! Expected care for the animals from me has included daily walks, feeding per directed schedule, hanging out with them, medication administration as needed, and cleaning up after them after an occasional “oopsie”. Most of my experience has been staying in client houses, so I am comfortable with that, however I am also more than confident with driving back and forth for potty breaks throughout the day. I just completed grad school and I am a certified Physician Associate working in the ER. My work schedule is typically 2-3 12h shifts a week— flipping between day and night shifts. My schedule for pet care is more client-based than anything and I will always work my personal schedule around taking care of the animals needs first. I prefer keeping the clients pets in their homes for their safety and comfort. I will always put them on leashes unless they are fenced in and I will go outside with them initially to keep an eye on them and to feel out the surroundings myself.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
