About: I had my dog, Grace, for 13 years and have watched other dogs during that time and more frequently for the past 2 years since she passed. I don't want to have another dog and Rover gives me the opportunity to spoil them and become their bestie until their parents come home. My two dogs are large dogs, (Golden Retriever and Bernese Mountain Dog) so if your pet is afraid of large dogs and/or doesn't like high energy dogs, they may not enjoy their stay! They are very sweet and don't fight with other dogs unless provoked and my Bernese is very skittish. Some animals could get overwhelmed from their high energy behavior. They calm down fairly quickly (10-20 minutes) then become very relaxed and lazy dogs. My cat is very sweet and loves dogs as well. She was raised by a Collie and loves to play with dogs if they let her. Your pet can sleep in a kennel if that's preferred but I'm also perfectly fine with them sleeping and staying around the house at all times if you prefer that as well!

I am more doing this to help those with cats as I have a house full of them and have a hard time finding help for them than for my dog when going on vacation. walkers on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
