About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. I’m currently a Special Education Teacher and coach all kinds of sports, but I also work at a doggy daycare and I have been there for the past 4 years. Within the building I work closely with a dog behavior specialist/dog psychologist, vet tech, dog trainer, and a groomer. Working with this wonderful group of people has made my knowledge of animals grow tremendously. I have worked with all types of dogs from puppies to seniors. Giving medications and following strict schedules!! I work full time as a Special Education Teacher and also coach after the school day. Most days my dog attends doggy daycare but when she doesn’t I go home after work and we go on a walk before I have to go to practice. I have a one and a half year old Golden Retriever named Poppy who is extremely friendly and thinks anything that has a pulse is her friend. I don’t have a fenced in yard but I do have a 20 foot lead to let your dog run around and play outside. I also have plant of extra leashes, harnesses, and collars incase we go for a walk. I can also crate your dog if needed. I do have a medium sized dog crate as well as a puppy play pen incase your dog needs to be separated.

I had a house sitter while I was away but due to his work schedule I wanted to make it easier on him and less stressful on my dogs by keeping their feeding and outside schedule closer to what they are used to. As a full-time online student, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my day at home with my Poms. This allows me to provide attentive, reliable care for one to two dogs per day, ensuring they receive plenty of supervision, exercise, playtime, and affection. I have my own home with a large patio area where pets can enjoy fresh air and supervised outdoor time. Since it is not fenced, I always keep pets safely supervised and use their collar or leash when needed. I’ve been caring for pets since I was 5 years old, starting with my first cat, Rosie, and over time I’ve gained hands-on experience with both kittens and senior cats. I’ve raised four kittens (three rescues) myself, so I’m very familiar with the patience, attention, and consistency needed for young pets. Additionally, I have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs, through the care of my own pups and friends’. I have lots of experience caring for senior pets, including administering medications, managing special diets, and assisting with more advanced care such as subcutaneous (IV) fluids. Because of this, I’m very attentive to changes in behavior or health and can provide a higher level of care for pets with medical needs. I treat every pet like my own and prioritize their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. I work as a Medical Assistant full time on weekdays from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, but my evenings and weekends are wide open, giving me plenty of flexibility to care for pets. I’m based in Utica and am happy to travel as needed for drop-in visits, walks, or longer stays. This schedule allows me to provide consistent, reliable care while being attentive to pets’ needs. I provide care either in my pet-friendly, secure residence (keycard access) or in the client’s home, depending on their needs.
