“Larry and Pam were the absolute best! They sent me daily updates and photos of Oliver and gave me complete peace of mind. We will definitely reach out again if we need to board him in the future!!”

“Kim was great and worked with us in very short notice so we could help our church assist during a disaster recovery in our state. Her responses were very quick, agreed and said watching Koda was no problem and all the times were good. We even got some cute pictures as Koda settled in. Second time he's stayed with her, and we'll definitely keep her in mind in the future.”

“Absolutely awesome. Amber was very kind and attentive taking care of our dog. He is blind and sometimes has potty troubles when in new places. She took that in stride, and when it seemed like his stomach was upset she even made him chicken and rice with pumpkin to help him feel better. Can't say enough! We are so very thankful to her, and her family, welcoming our dog into their home and treating him well.”

“Shilo loved his stay, he really respected her. She is an amazing sitter I would recommend her to anyone. I was really thankful she took him last minute. We will definitely come back to her in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of many animals throughout my life. I am good with them I know basic care and are able to handle cats and dogs! I will be doing a dentist program soon. I am able to care for animals nightly and during weekends! Daily if able to do so. I have a big fenced yard. I have two dogs that love to play! I can definitely crate if needed and also help them get warmed up!
“They were very flexible with my last-minute time changes. Due to transportation issues, I had to change drop off times twice. I love the pictures sent to me while away.”

“Jordan is incredibly trustworthy and a great communicator. He was very thorough in asking all the necessary questions to care for my dog, introducing his dogs to mine and ensuring my dog was comfortable with them, and getting my dog situated in his home. He gave me plenty of updates and I felt at ease the whole time knowing my dog was well cared for! Would definitely reccomend to anyone!”

“Rena P provided exceptional care for my dog. She is incredibly caring, energetic, and professional. We received consistent updates and photos throughout the stay, which I really appreciated. It’s rare to find someone you trust implicitly with your pet, but Rena P is definitely that person!"”

“I hate to send this glowing review because I want to keep Pam’s schedule open just for me!! ? She literally is an answer to prayer. Being newly empty nesters, we’ve been wanting to take several short trips but had no one to keep our 10 year old dog. She’s never been boarded so we didn’t want to go that route. We found Pam through Rover and booked with her because of the rave reviews. And, she was better than any of our expectations. She LOVED on our girl, sent pics and updates every day, and Lexi came home so happy, healthy, and with no separation anxiety. We feel so blessed to have found Pam and her husband Dave was awesome with Lexi as well. Thank you so much!!!”

“I couldn't be happier with the care my boys received! Casey kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. My boys came home happy and well cared for. I highly recommend Casey to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. I will definitely book with her again!”

“Chantel was so great with Pippi! She took her on several walks and made sure she was at ease and comfortable throughout her stay. She sent me videos and pictures every day, which was a great touch!”

“Joanne helped board my dog last minute when me and my family had to go out of town during a very unexpected, difficult time. She was kind and caring and put my nerves at ease. My dog had tons of fun in her huge backyard and played well with her friendly pups. I would recommend Joanne to anyone and will definitely be using her services again. Thank you Joanne <3”

“This was the first time our pup had stayed away from us and I was nervos but Maria kept me updated and sent multiple pictures throughout the day. She took great care of him and we will be using her from this point forward! :)”

“Thank you Kelley for taking care of Bruno. He was exhausted from all the play time he had with Brody and the family. It was great seeing pictures of him being loved by the kiddos while I was away.”

“They communicated quickly and often sending pictures and giving updates over the days. Most importantly they made Simba’s first time away great and accommodated any needs I had.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Mingo home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Mingo.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Mingo sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
