“Vanessa and her family took care of Hampton as though he were their own. The updates including photos and videos made myself and family feel extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend their service.”

“I would highly recommend Yaina to anyone for dog boarding. She was excellent with communication and sent many pictures while my dog was with her. She made the process very easy and took great care of my dog.”

“I have a bit of a nervous dog that immediately connected with her and didn’t seem in the hurry to leave I expected when I picked her up…that says a lot! She was also very thorough in making sure she could meet Daisy’s needs”
“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

“William and his family have been amazing. I received updates and pictures every day I was away from my pitty and will absolutely be sending her back in the future. Thanks again William!”

“Elizaveta took such good care of Storm! She sent me pictures and videos throughout Storm’s stay and she along so well with Elizaveta’s puppy. Having just moved to the area, I’m so happy I found someone I feel comfortable leaving my baby with.”

“Our 2 dogs stayed with Andrea for 8 nights and came home more social with each other than usual. I believe that the controlled interactions they have with the other dogs in her environment was very positive for them both. It was a great experience for us and will certainly use Andrea again.”

“I had such a wonderful experience with my first-time dog sitter Kiara! 🐾❤️ I immediately knew she was the one I wanted to care for my twin boys, and she did an amazing job taking care of them for 5 days. I would usually text her to check in, and she was always quick to respond with updates and photos of the boys. It was so reassuring to know they were in good hands. The twins seemed to really like her and gradually became comfortable with her, which made me so happy! I would absolutely rebook with her again, if she’ll have us back! 😊 Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my fur babies. I truly appreciate you, and I’m sending a little tip as a token of my appreciation. Highly recommend! ❤️🐶”

“We love bringjng our girl to see Jocelyn! She always has a great time and comes back a very happy pup. Jocelyn is communicative and we have great piece of mind when our dog is in her care”

“I highly recommend Blanca if you have a small dog (under 20 lbs). She is a true dog lover, very attentive to her little guests and gives them a lot of love. Alfie, my little guy, enjoyed his stay in her warm and hospitable home. Her backyard is a little haven for our little babies. All fenced in and plenty of room to run and play.”

“Jialarie treated our kitties like they were her own and sent us pictures of them each day along with frequent updates. Would definitely recommend her services”

“My miniature schnauzer had a great time with Rhinesca’s dogs, he seemed to be having the time of his life when they met, running around her yard. Daily communication and photos. We’d be happy to leave Tux with them again. Recommend!”

“Julia was terrific! She and Bailey hit it off right away. Got a bunch of pics with Bailey out for a walk, playing with toys and a restful night sleep. Will use Julia again!”

“Danielle was amazing and I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter. I was extremely nervous leaving my German shepherd for a week (the most she'd been away from me was 2 days) knowing that she'd have separation anxiety. Danielle sent me pictures everyday of my pup playing with her own dog and I felt better knowing they were having fun. When I went to pick up my dog, it was as if she didn't want to leave! She was so comfortable and happy, and I could tell by the way she interacted with Danielle and her family. I will definitely use Danielle again next time I'm going on vacation!”

“Nachay was incredible from the moment we brought our 8yr old Biscon to her house she made him feel welcome and relaxed. She sent photos every day of his 10 day stay. She completely exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this amazing & caring woman. 🫶🐩”

“Tanu is great! She took good care of our 6 year old Ace for a day. She loves your pet like it’s her own. Ace is picky with his eating habits and spoiled I should say, but she was very concerned when he skipped his meal. She followed all our instructions and sent us pictures of Ace more often than we expected. He was very happy at her place. I would use her services again without any hesitation and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an excellent sitter for their furry. Thank you so much Tanu for taking care of Ace!”

About: Animals are family here! I provide patient, loving care tailored to each animal’s personality, routine, and comfort level, with plenty of playtime, cuddles, and attention. I have experience working with rescue organizations and offer foster care to animals requiring special attention. Currently in service dog training courses with my Australian Shepard. I work from home most days, so pet care naturally fits into my daily routine. I’m only away from home for about six hours on two days each week. Outside of work, I spend much of my time with my animals, gardening, and enjoying our little homestead—especially when the weather is nice! I have a fully fenced yard plus a separate secured area for my chickens. My own dogs, cats, and chickens live here, but visiting pets are always supervised and safely separated when needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Mill Neck home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Mill Neck.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Mill Neck sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
